So disappointed that this place is no longer open, I had a great experience at Seven Planet! Wandering around with my mom in town, I bought some gifts for my mother in law’s birthday. We were shipping it to Wisconsin and the guy working(presumably the owner?) Offered to ship it for free for me, SWEET. I was planning on going back for more gifts and cute little things but was disappointed when I got their email about closing for the time being. Super sad. :(

I’m definitely a fan of Seven Planet. We stopped by in the EcoRoamer on a night when they were having a sustainable clothing fashion show. One of the owners«DJ» came up to introduce himself and offer us a free beer, I truly believe all retail establishments should take on that practice! The fact is though, they had a great selection of interesting objects to inject sustainability into your household, fashion, garden and office. A nice mix of educational materials, practical daily use items and simply fun stuff. The staff were incredibly friendly(though that might have been all the free beer that was floating around) — and had no problem helping us out to find a local bio-fuels station for the EcoRoamer. My only suggestion to DJ and the guys would be to take a look at the Real Goods Flagship store in Hopland, CA as an inspiration for what they can grow in to, and how they can beef up the books side of the store. I’d definitely recommend anybody with an eco-interest to stop by Seven Planet while in Portland.

My initial reaction about Seven Planet is a place where hippies come when they make money and want to be stylish. I’ve never shopped for eco-friendly household items(furniture, clothing, etc.) but I can’t shake off the seemingly-high price tags. Nevertheless, the selections are intriguing(e.g. journals made from discarded children’s books), the staff is friendly and helpful, and the store is warm and welcoming. If you’re looking to be eco-friendly, then this is one store you shouldn’t miss. If your East Coast mentality is hell-bent on destroying the ecosystem(like me), than you’ll be amused by Seven Planet. I can’t believe I’m the first to review this business. Has no one else stopped in and enjoyed their amazing selection of green, organic, and ethically produced items? They have an eclectic mix of household items, gifts, clothing, shoes and the list goes on. I love their space. it’s very open and inviting. Good for just chilling in as well as shopping. Their products range from pretty pricey, I-can-only-drool-over them to very affordable. I have purchased several birthday presents here and they have all been big hits. I appreciate being able to browse a shop where there’s a nice selection of US-made products as well as being vegan, organic and/or eco-friendly.

A little bit of everything and something for everyone. Love this store. I usually go in when I need a gift but can’t help finding a gift for myself too. Friendly staff, amazing products plus many lifestyle classes held in the store. Just attended a free class on natural home remedies in the middle of the day… how cool is that? Would recommend this store to any eco-minded, conscious consumer.
