Awful experience. Overpriced drinks, all of the employees were rude. Go-go dancers thought they were strippers as guys were making it rain on them. Work for those tips ladies, you’ll need them!

Single worst place I’ve ever been in Portland. The absolute rudest staff I have ever experienced and horrible music. I go to Vegas and can get in anywhere I want and I go to dt Portland and this place harasses my friend because her passport is foreign so they can’t understand how the dates are written then proceed to make us pay a $ 20 cover after spending 30 minutes trying to read the passport. It only got worse from there, rude staff and poor music. I will never go back here and I will advise any one I encounter to never go here. Such a joke of a place. There are way better places to go, don’t waste your time/money here.

Get there early? Are you attending a children’s party? Are you crazy? Even debutants know not to be the first one on the dance floor. When I went, I liked it. One smile and I got a drink. The bartender on the VIP side is pretty busy but accommodating. She even talks and smiles. Maybe y’all are wearing Old Navy, H&M and Forever 21. And maybe, it’s not the tag at the back of the fabric but you’re a decade beyond 21. 21 is not a diamond. It’s not a girl’s best friend nor it last forever. To the one who five starred it and telling us it is classy. You’re kissing way too much @ss here. Boy, you need to get out of Portland and travel to a more progressive city. Just because you are in a dress shirt with some velvet rope outside doesn’t make it classy. You meant to say«dressy» as it has a dress code(classy and dressy are two different things). Speaking of dressy, it does not even reach the basic levels of Kreayshawn. Not a Fendi in sight. Chinatown Gucci and LV, yes. Again for dressy, refer to the second paragraph. The crowd? Pass. I like the crowd and environment in Fortune better. The drinks are alright. I don’t venture too far from my norm of drinks. It is regular Portland restaurant price. Don’t expect a handcrafted drink when you’re in a club FFS. And if you’re expecting a $ 2 – 4 drinks, go to Plaid Pantry and sit by the curb. To the one who one starred it being a joke, I got something for you. The WHOLEPORTLAND nightlife scene is a joke. It’s child’s play compared to bigger cities so simmer down now. And lastly, if you’re pretty or always smiling, people will cater to you. Act and play the part. This is not a place for kids who barely turned 21 or dumb bitches on the rag. Go to Dirty or Barrel Room.

This place is racist. Made my friend who is African American change 4 times. One time they wanted him to change because he had on red shoes and they said he had on «too much red» Then there was a sneaky snaggle toothed bottle waitress if you could even call her that. Give her money and she says I gave her a lesser amount. Bottles took an hour to come out… waited so long people at the table went to the bar to buy drinks. The place was just disgusting… I encourage everyone to stay away from this racist and shit service establishment. These idiots really have no idea how to conduct business, first nightlife experience in Portland and will probably never go out in that city again. Literally the worst club experience I’ve ever had.

Don’t read too much into the negative reviews. In the nightlife industry, there will always be some people having a bad time or overreacting to situations, etc. These are going to be the people that take to Unilocal and write scathing reviews. The reality is, that this is one of downtown Portland’s most popular, new nightclubs. There is a classy atmosphere, great lighting and decoration, 2 rooms with DJ’s playing different styles of music to suit your taste, 3 bars(although one is for the VIP section) and a great sound system. It’s not the largest venue so it does it capacity fairly quickly, leading to longer lines on weekends. Get there early, beat the line. Like any club, the security and bouncers are people trying to do their jobs and as long as you’re not being an obnoxious drunk, they’re great people and you don’t need to worry about them. Every time I go to Shake Bar I have a great night!

This place is a fucking joke. Their staff is more concerned about the tits and ass than the actual safety of the place. There was a woman about to fall over and a monitor walked by three fucking times not even noticing her. They supposedly have a «VIP» section for«paid» tables only but two of the girls in our group were allowed in while the rest were told they were for paid tables only. The drinks are watered down at that!

My first visit to shake was not bad until I reviewed my bank account and realized I was charged twice for a drink purchase. I contacted the numbers provided online, one being an individual named Jesse. Both asked me to provide my bank statement. I quickly took a screen shot of the transactions and my receipt. No response. This place is unethical and does not care to rip you off. I will NEVER go here again. Horrible customer service and horrible business practices! Be care spending money here.

Well the entrance was good not a long line for being 11pm but once I got to the bathed omg! Let’s says its 11:05pm of a Saturdaynight. The night has just began and there was no toilet paper in the girls bathroom in ETHER stole and nothing to dry your ha owing ether! WTF! That’s very annoying! But music is good! And the people that go here are not ratchet. It’s all suis and ties.

Hilariously bad. I feel like an idiot for paying the $ 20 cover. Bought a really expensive drink with next to no alcohol in it. Small ass dance floor with terrible DJ. I didn’t Unilocal before I went and wish I had. STAYAWAYFROMTHISTERRIBLEBAR

Wish I could give a negative star. First time going to the bars in Portland, and this place was the worst experience. Long line to get in and then paid a $ 10 cover. Went in for less than an hour. Could barley move around to the bar to get a drink with everyone dancing. First pineapple vodka was $ 7 and it was OK size. Second one was half the size for the same price in a small cup. Left to go smoke, came back and had to wait all over again in VIP line and I just wanted to use the restroom. They wouldn’t let the people back in who paid already. Bouncers are douche bags. Don’t go unless you plan on staying inside all night. First experience in Portland night life, worst experience in Portland.

One of the worse place I been so far. They are new hot spot and they are cocky about it. Before I even enter to club staff outside very loudly playing a betting game about my age. So I got from 27 – 48 range and I was standing right there. One hell of a way to start to night. Rudeness continue inside. Staff was getting paid to be rude I guess. It is so packed you can’t really dance. So called VIP section is right there where everyone dancing so there is no VIP. Terrible place.

So… First time going to «Shake» new bar… And it definitely was not what I expected… I go to so many awesome clubs and lounges. I had a reserved spot that was for me and my group of girls… Bought hella drinks… I’m talking over hundreds… And they gave my table away… Cuz I went outside for fresh air. And they accused me for being gone for«2 hours» yea… Ok. And to top it off, I wanted to pay for my tab but I guess I had to wait 30 – 45 mins to pay for my open tab… I never in my life ever had this type of service ever… Disappointment… I heard so many wonderful things about this place. Never coming here again…

Went in here and asked for a martini, the bint behind the bar said«We’re a club, we don’t make martini’s: we dont have olive juice or like, the stuff to stir it»…Are you SERIOUS? A. It is obvious that your entire training as a bartender and service professional consisted of «she looks good in a low cut top» otherwise you could properly explain why you couldn’t make a martini. B. Honesty would have been fine«I don’t know how to make a martini» or «Management has disallowed making martinis tonight because of the special event that is currently happening» C «We’re a club, we don’t make martinis» Really? I scoffed so hard I have broken my scoffing mechanism, madam; I don’t think the character allowance on Unilocal reviews is high enough for me to explain the multiple ways in which this statement is ridiculous. How is it that you have a VIP area but you cannot be bothered to make martinis? I predict this bar will quickly follow in the foot steps of its predecessor, Couture.

This place is a joke. I worked in the industry for three years as a VIP host and they wouldn’t let me and HH20 friends in for 600 dollars. They kept raising the price even though we agreed on 500 they raised it to 560 the. They raised it to 600. Then they wanted me to remove my hat. I’m sorry but if I’m paying 600 I’m not taking my hat off.
