Update: I’ve updated my review because the manager followed up with me and explained someone was in training. The customer service is good but their display area is still lacking — something to know before you go. Hopefully corporate will provide better, updated materials soon. I’m a huge fan of Sherwin William and have used them for years so I’m pulling for them as a company– I do love their paint. Original: I was thoroughly disappointed by the lack of knowledge and care I got out of the gentleman that helped me. Nice enough guy and I’m sure he knows how to enter the color into the computer and mix it up, but if you’re looking for any real help or expertise you may want to try a different place.

They are very good with their color matching and prices are very reasonable, They have a large selection of painting equipment(brushes, etc) at competitive prices.

Paint quality is by far the best. New homeowner and I have used several different paint brands and Sherwin Williams will always be my first choice. I have gone back to this particular store even though it is not the closest to my house because of the epic customer service. The usually have monthly sales where paint can be 20−40% off which makes it the best deal in all of home improvement.

Full marks for service and products. We came in because(duh) we needed paint. Employee greeted, «hi, what can I do for you guys?» We replied, «we need some paint.» Employee replied, «I think they have that across the street.» That was just the beginning of our very pleasant paint shopping experience. Knowing next to nothing about what we wanted(other than«reddish» and«won’t look terrible»), the employees were incredibly helpful. When it was all said and done, they threw on all sorts of discounts that I didn’t even inquire about. Overall, I couldn’t have been happier about my paint shopping experience.

I have been using Sherwin Williams for years now, and I trust there expertise when it comes to getting qualified help for my company. I own my own painting company and have used there paints since before I started my own company. I have stuck with same individuals from Sherwin Williams through out the years knowing that having this certain group of paint experts behind me, allows me to offer nothing but the best. I know that I can can stand behind all of my work making sure that all homeowners and businesses can be assured that the paint I am using on there property is nothing but the best and it can stand up to all of the elements. Cause of the expertise of this Management and paint crew, I feel safe knowing my company will always have a company like Sherwin Williams there for me. YOUCANTGOWRONG!!! The short of it: I gave these folks a try that lasted three visits of frustration. Employees with NO knowledge of paint, color, or even their own lines of products. Set up for contractors that know what they want. I suggest going to Miller Paint or Ace Hardware on Woodstock if you want knowledgeable staff. The long of it: NOT knowledgeable about paint and more interested in catering to their contractor clients than single purchasers, even if the can of paint they are buying is $ 40 a gallon. The girl working there mixed my paint too warmly. When I mentioned it, she seemed annoyed. Not wanting to get her in trouble, I said it may just be the light in the building and so I would take it home and try it out. She nodded at that. It wasn’t the building — the color was too warm. So, I called the store to see about me coming in and getting it remixed. The same girl answered the phone. She now said that there is nothing that they can do. I asked to speak to her manager and she told me that there was no manager there. When I asked when s/he would return, she said she would probably be alone all day. Um, that’s illegal. I stopped by a few hours after the call and there he was. She avoided me and didn’t make eye contact. The manager was much more helpful, but didn’t listen well. I said it was too warm and that I would pay for additional white paint to thin it out to be less warm(it was an off white color). He said he would work on it and came back and said«I put some gold into it, how does that look?» Gold?! On what planet does adding gold make something less warm? I said I wanted to add white to make it less warm and he said he couldn’t make it less warm now. He decided to just give me my money back, which was for the best. He gave me a swatch book and we tried again to match to the swatch I had with the book. I went home and put swatches up against the wall as well. I came back with the swatch book and asked about getting one of the colors as a sample size that I would pay for. The girl was there again and said that they could not give me a sample, but could paint a piece of paper that I could take home. Again, she didn’t actually OFFER any of this stuff. I kept squeezing her until she gave me options. Terrible sales work on her part. The swatch she gave me still didn’t match. In the end I ended up mixing my own mix at home with leftover white with a touch of black. It wasn’t exact, but I wasn’t going to get even a remote match from them either. I would have went to Ace, but they don’t have low VOC paint anymore. In hindsight, I think the swatch itself may have yellowed in the basement so I don’t blame them entirely for having it come out too warm, but it didn’t even match that swatch when they tried. They seriously couldn’t match even that. Hopefully these people get their acts together, but it seems like a chain store hiring people who know zip about paint. Getting lied too didn’t feel good, either.
