Sick String Guitar Repair

Absolutely amazing difference in the guitar after Brian set it up, both in terms of playability and, surprisingly, tone. The guitar is a 2001 Peavey Wolfgang EVH with a floating bridge that has had countless setups over the years, and probably hadn’t really played well in a decade. I decided to give it one last chance and give Brian a shot — after discussing the possibilities, we settled on yet another setup, along with some fretwork, and a couple other minor mods that Brian worked in on the fly. When the guitar was ready, I was shocked to find that I could play the intro riffs to Master of Puppets cleanly at speed (never could before). And, as a bonus, the sustain on leads and drop d metal riffs is Opeth-​worthy. Seriously, been playing for 30 years and never had guitar maintenance anywhere near this successful.

Brian is great to work with, and knows his stuff. I have run into many guys who are so tone-​hipster that when I ask questions they talk down to me, or assume that I can’t play because I don’t know about the latest handwired transparent overdrive that has been blessed by the Pope. I play guitar, and am not really a gear guy. Brian makes it easy for a nongear-​head like me to get some sweet stuff done to my guitars. I play blues, and wanted the SRV/​Hendrix tone pallet from my Telecaster. Brian asked questions about what I play, and then talked me through what I needed to do to get the tone I wanted. Brian was able to come up with a switching system that allowed me to I kept all my Tele tones, and I now have the Strat tones that I needed too. He routed out my guitar and installed some awesome tex-​mex pickups for me. Now me and my Nashville Tele are melting faces off all over town. I will be back here for any setup, pickup install, fret work, or anything else that I have done in the future. Now if only Brian worked on cars…
