The Big Lamb Gyro and Lamb Salad are both excellent. The lamb in the gyro is not cut from one of those large vertical meat cones, which I usually love. Instead, the lamb is homemade, nicely seasoned and lightly charred on the grill with carrots and cauliflower. I’ve eaten 5 of these and have not encountered a single tough piece of lamb. The gyro is huge and dressed with tzatziki, tomato and sour cream. The older gentleman who I see most often is very friendly and the food is consistently good. I highly recommend.

Food is really good here, great price and huge portion. I usually order Lamb over rice or Shawarma over rice. And their meat is good quality.

Easily the best new meal I’ve had in Portland in over a year. Guy I played golf with this morning was talking about how awesome it was so I decided to take the family there today for lunch. The lamb is amazing & the falafel is right there with it. Even has burgers & fries for the picky kids, which just makes it that much easier to come back. $ 5 Lamb Gyro is something that will be added to my weekly stops in the neighborhood, so so good!

I’m here to corroborate the many other glowing reviews of this most excellent food cart. I’ve visited them many times and always been amazed by the quality of the food given the low price. Hands down one of the best deals you’ll find for a hearty, satisfying meal in these parts.

The cart on Woodstock used to be great. We have learned it is dependent on who is working. We always order the Chicken salad and it is usually great: lots of chicken, meat is warm, hummus, dolmas, and good portion size. The salad we got tonight was large chunks of iceberg lettuce, three pieces of chicken, one dolma, no hummus, meat was cold, and lots of raw onion. He also seemed very irritated that we wanted to order any food from him. Disappointing and do not know if we will give the cart another shot. Hopefully, they figure out what is going on, because it was great before(I had given the cart 5 stars).

One of the first places we tried after we moved to Portland because it’s within walking distance of our home. It didn’t disappoint. We’ve been multiple times now and tried many of the options. The food is consistently delicious and portions are huge. Best of all, it’s super cheap! That being said, I’d happily pay more. It’s great!

I was driving on Woodstock today looking for a food cart and decided to try this one. Wow — what a great find! Their falafel sandwich was incredible. It starts with a huge, soft, thick pita and is filled with falafel that is crispy on the outside and really tender on the inside — really delicious. Add some fresh lettuce, tomato, red onions, slightly spicy pickled cauliflower and some sauce and you’ve got a tremendously decadent treat. I will definitely go back.

Showed up at 830 pm, their site said they would be open. The sign said they were open, window was open. Walked up and was told they were closed. When I complained the quote was«why are you Americans like this»… Not coming back…

OK, I love food trucks and since I was in Portland and there’s so many there and I love North African and Middle Eastern food, I figured I’d try this place out! We ordered the #4 Chicken Shawarma and #5 the Chicken Kebabs. Pro: #4 was delicious Guy making the food was yummy as well haha imagine a Egyptian Clark Kent… yup! Con: The food took about 45 minutes to make… no joke. That’s ridiculous for a food truck! The yummy chef was also the guy ringing people up and he didn’t change his gloves between handling food and processing our payments… same gloves for the entire hour we were sitting there and watching him make our food and waiting for our turn to pay. #5 the chicken was still raw when we got it so we asked him to put it back on the grill for another 15 minutes(which was frustrating considering we hah already waited 45 minutes for it) and when we got it back the second time it still wasn’t cooked properly so we ended up throwing it away. Actual thing I heard from another customer: «Guess the pretty ones are never too bright…»

Coming from someone who rarely writes reviews, this place puts the famed Halal Guys on 53rd and 6th in NYC to shame. Big lamb gyro is incredible.

It’s not often I am completely blown away by consistency, quality, and a little bit of magic, but this place has it!!! I am certainly a bit of a snob when it comes to Middle Eastern food, but this place is just firing on all cylinders and I had to review it. as we all know food trucks can be hit or miss depending on the day, the worker, etc. This one seems to have figured it all out and have multiple locations and hours that allow a premeditated lunch or dinner. Okay on to the food! Falafel is the best I’ve had in Portland. There’s always that nervousness when you get a falafel. Will it be crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Small Pharaoh has it down, and you get that beautiful smell of garlic and beans, fresh green color, and the feeling that this is going to be a good meal! You can get a sandwich, and by sandwich I mean a massive pita you have to eat from a plate first and finish with two hands later. The«over rice» versions of their sandwiches are an amazing value, giving you properly cooked and spiced rice, pickled veggies, a few dolmas, and a smattering of hummus and tzaziki. Most happily they do not skimp on the good sauces here and really take care of you. They have an impressive menu with shawarma and gyro for you meat eaters. My friend, an elite Unilocal reviewer loved this place when he was with me and sampled the lamb gyro. One of the best he’s had. This place has so much going for it. Not only is the food tops, but their truck itself is a real standout. Has a mini counter, cover, and stools so even in the rain you’re good here. There’s lighting at night as well. Downsides? A few minor things. The photos of their food are so misleading because they are practically a cartoon to the real thing which looks amazing. Investing in some nice color photos of their actual food would help a lot. Also, I do like a little more on the ball staff to make sure you have enough napkins, utensils, etc? But hey, it’s a food truck not a restaurant so I don’t care about this stuff too much.

Let me describe for you the Gyro I hate. The Gyro I hate has dry meat, iceberg lettuce, and pickles from a jar. This gyro is the opposite. The thing that I don’t understand is why they insist on using pictures that were obviously taken from the Google Images site. Their food looks so much better than the pictures. The gyro is full on huge chucks of juicy meat. Instead of pickles from a jar they use a spicy pickled mixed veggies such as carrots, cauliflower and chard ribs I think. No way you can stuff this thing in your face after first giving it some time with a fork. I sat at the counter and I had to put my foot down for an extra point of contact because the gyro was so big and delicious. My friend got the falafel plate. Gotta love Falafel that is green on the inside. The plate is piled with veggies and sauce. It’s a very impressive meal for not a lot of money. The food is a great value too. If only it were closer.

I adore their lamb gyro, and for under $ 6 its a STEAL! The generous amount of meat you get balances perfectly with the super fresh veggies all cozied up with some killer tahziki!

I thought it was great. Popped in for lunch today and had the lamb gyro, fries and a soda($ 11 before tip). Got the white sauce and mild hot sauce(get napkins) and have to say it was delicious. I’m used to more the shaved lamb but theirs was in rough cubes; you could really taste great flavor in it. Fries were solid and can’t go wrong with a sunkist. Truly exactly what I hoped for and more, one of the few times I wasn’t disappointed by a food truck. Huge gyro with a ton of meat and great veggies in it(loved the carrot). Will be back for sure. Across the street from the vet and next too a couple other carts.

I was trying to go to Mezza today but they were closed so ended up at this food cart. The best thing that ever happened to me. I had the most untraditional, delicious, gyro ever! My friend got the chicken shwarma. Again, untraditional, a little curry-esk but fantastic. Huge amount of food! I’ll be heading back again soon.
