Soy Grill

Yakisoba was good. Nice to have another food option in this neighborhood that badly needs it.

I’m currently going through a «teriyaki phase» so I’ve been noticing various teriyaki places to try lately. Today, I went to the Soy Grill location near Mall 205. Friendly workers there gave me a nice greeting as soon as I walked through the door. One of the girls noticed that I was taking quite awhile looking up at their menu board so she asked if there was anything in particular I was looking for. I explained that I was hoping they would have a combination plate with teriyaki chicken and chicken katsu together. They had lots of different combinations but not with those two items that I was looking for. She immediately said that she would make up such a combo for me.. .no problem at all. I was pleased they were able to accommodate me and make me exactly what I wanted even though it wasn’t on the menu. Great service! Well, the serving of food was HUGE. I got the two kinds of chicken, white rice, and a salad with poppy seed dressing. There were two separate little containers of sauce: one with teriyaki sauce and the other was sauce for the katsu. The chicken was a bit too chewy for my tastes, but not bad. Also their teriyaki sauce was the thin, watery type that just ran straight to the bottom of the plate. I prefer a thicker sauce that sticks to the food a little more. However, the amount of food I got was impressive.. .plenty left over to take home for another meal tomorrow.
