Studio LS Photography

I don’t know how, but I started seeing Lani’s work on Facebook and became intrigued. We had a couple of Facebook chats about photography. I am an accomplished photographer with a home studio but I contacted Lani to shoot my wife (and we live in San Jose!). We did a lot of consulting by Facebook prior to the appointment. We flew up and Lani met us at her studio. Her greatest assets are her hair and makeup artistry, and her ability to put her models at ease and get the most out of them. Lani spent at least half the time on hair and makeup and created a great rapport with my wife. She then proceeded to shoot my wife and gave her excellent direction for posing and smiling and most importantly kept the whole shoot fun and relaxed. She helped with outfit selection and accessorizing (even digging into her own stash). She redid makeup and hair to suit the outfit and to create different moods. Throughout the shoot Lani was friendly and professional. I think the whole event went great, my wife was happy, I am happy. Lani enjoys her work and it shows. Her prices are very reasonable. I will write more when I get my final images (I just sent Lani my selections from over 300 digital proofs).

I had worked with Lani one time before without an issue and I do believe she has the potential to do beautiful work. So when I thought about doing boudoir photos, I naturally contacted her. I booked an expensive hotel room at The Hotel Deluxe and had hair and nails done. I received a confirmation email from Lani 2 days before with her cell number and she told me to text her once I checked Into the hotel. I texted her and didn’t receive a response. She was supposed to arrive around 5 so at 5:30 I called and her phone went straight to voicemail. She never showed up or even called to tell me she couldn’t make it. I sent her an email asking if she was ok and never heard a thing from her. She even deleted me from Facebook. The whole thing was bizarre. All I can do now is find a new photographer.

I am shocked to see a review on here with such a negative response to this photographer’s work! I’ve worked with this photographer 3 times and each time I did, it was a better experience than the time before. She’s very kind, creative, thinks on her feet, she cares about her work and most importantly cares about her clients. I’ve never seen a photographer so personable and kind with their clients. Each time has been enjoyable and she does an incredible job making you feel comfortable and excited about the shoot and the final product. I was incredibly late one of the times and although she had every right to reschedule, she worked her evening around the shoot. I also left jewelry by accident which she personally mailed back to me. There’s a reason I’ve gone to her three times now and it’s because she genuinely cares about her work. It’s been over two years since my last shoot and I still get excited to pull out the photos. I plan to go back again! Keep up the amazing work!
