This is what a dive bar should be. Cheap tasty food, an ecclectic mix of folks, .drinks. If this isn’t your kind of place you’re not my kind of people.

So my gf and I just went into this bar. We got ignored. Wasn’t busy. Was so dark in there maybe they just didn’t see us. We left. I guess they didn’t want our business.

I’m glad to call Sweet Home«my bar home». I have met so many awesome people in the eclectic mix that Sweet Home attracts, that I can’t even count. The food is awesome(try the tots with bbq sauce, or their homemade cheesecake!) and the drinks are fabulous. Not watered down, not small, and NOT expensive. They treat you like family here, accepting you no matter what walk of life you’re from. Is it loud? Hell yes! Is it weird? Hell yes! Is it mediocre? Hell no! Much love to Paul and the staff, thank you for making Sweet Home my home sweet home.

I went to this place the other day in need of a biscuits and gravy type breakfast and with my wife wanting a bacon cheeseburger. The place is divey but that’s the type of places I look for… not the corporate types, straight local. I will say the biscuits and gravy were… ok, nothing special. I probably won’t come here for that again. But the portions on both were humongous for the price and the service was very good. With sodas came out to $ 18.50, very inexpensive! I did try my wife’s burger and it was good. I will try something else here again.

Bomb burgers, great staff including Randall, Patrick, Chrystal, occasionally my sis Jenni, and Tenderheart aka Jodi. The owner Paul is the man! 8 big screens playing sports. Pool table, video poker, jukebox, mega touch, buck hunter HD, ATM, outdoor seating with your drink for us smokers. Karaōke thurs-sat with Betty mayham!!!

You want it loud, dirty, a little freaky, and a whole lot of fun? This is the place. Friday and Saturday are the best time of the week, and this place knows it. With Karaōke going both nights, its a great place to let loose. The song selection is varied, ranging from Elvis to Abba to Sinatra to Aqua to Green Jelly to Reba and so on. If you can think it, they likely have it. If not, they can usually get it. The food. Oh the om noms. They cater to the child in every one of us with tots. Tots are almost always available, and the extremely rare time they aren’t, the barmen will cry with you. They carry steak fingers for cheap, and they’re good, and they’re my personal go to. The chicken strips are good. The sandwiches are divine. The booze cheap and strong. The people? Well, you won’t find any shortage of weird here. Sweet Home seems to be all about Portland’s motto, and they do not tolerate any discrimination whatsoever. From the video poker fans to the old men to the genderfluid patrons, there’s a good varied mix. But the weekend warriors? They’re the craziest of the bunch. Theme nights are a common thing here, from Storybook night to White Trash night, the costumes are amazing, as are the people in them. With a covered smoking area out front and KJs that will open the door and shout your name if you’re next, you’re not going to miss out on anything here. Yes, seating is limited, but often you’ll be moving around too much to care.

I’ve been to this place a couple, maybe 4 times — always for the $ 3.50 burger and fries deal. The price either went up, or I was always there previously during happy hour. I had to plunk down $ 4.50 this time. But for an extra, 50 cents, you can throw in a big, crappy can of beer… which is a bonus(and the only time I drink crappy beer is early in the day, when it just tastes«light». It’s kinda dark and video poker is prevalent in the upstairs«deck». A pool table, a bar, and maybe 5 or 6 tables. Plus a shitload of TVs — mostly playing sports, with at least one soap opera and one Tosh.0. I guess you could call it a dive sports bar. The music is equal parts dreck(john cougar melloncamp!!!) and fun stuff(abba). Service is good, food come super quick. And it’s pretty tasty. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a small bar burger with fries or tots, and it tastes like a bar burger. But the flavor, sauce and bargain make it worth the trip once in a while.

Friendly staff, Strong drinks, Good prices, Great food and Awesome Karaōke! What more could you want on a friday or saturday night? As a friday night regular, I cannot say enough good things about this bar! It has been our friday night hangout for many years, and the nights we dont go out there just feel weird… The food is good, late night its just standard bar fare, but they recently updated their full menu to include a lot of awesome choices!(The ruben is amazing!!!) The karaōke library is massive, a lot of obscure songs that you cant find at other bars(ever heard of infant sorrow from the movie get him to the greek?) and the KJs both friday and saturday night are super cool! They even just upgraded their sound system too! All in all, if your looking for a great little bar to relax at, definitely worth checking it out!

No frills, no hype, no hoop-la. They keep ‘em comin’, keep pourin’ ‘em quick ‘n’ cheap… I remember when this cozy little building was devoted solely to the mass production of all things doughnutty in the 70s… then in the 80s and 90s, it was a string of korean and other Asian eateries. The 2000s, being a new millennium and all, and this place is firmly settled in as a solid little go-to neighborhood watering hole, sure to be missed by the hipsters and glamour boys and girls. The well drinks are strong and reasonably priced, even in non-happy hour times. The place stays open late, and offers appetizers off the menu till the very end on most nights, although the«grill, proper» closes around ten. In sum, there are certainly worst places to meet up w/friends for a libation and game of pool or two…

Low key, local bar feel. D-bags or Hipsters no, old guys and degenerate gamblers yes. Awesome food, like-my-mom-made daily specials, beer and cheap drinks. Oh, and they sell beer. Which is good. Football special: $ 1.00PBR tallboys and $ 3.50 burger basket.
