Switch Shoes and Clothing

I love this store. Everything is such high quality and unusual. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I love switch! Bought a gorgeous coat last night!!!

I love buying clothes here. Today I walked into the store with a great dress and jacket I bought at Switch. I left with a pair of great boots and two shirts. Everything I buy at Switch becomes a staple of my wardrobe. They have a great selection of clothes with new items every time I am there. The staff are helpful and happy to be there and help you anyway they can. Switch is my go to boutique.

What a great find! Bought a pair of pants that were so «not me» — but darling on the sales girl. I bought them ($ 79) and have worn them several times receiving compliments each time! I am branching out from jeans and loving the «new me»! I went back and bought a really wild sweater — can’t wait to wear it! ($ 55). Also got a pair of shoes and scarf to match. GREAT staff, trendy clothes, unique jewelry, cool shoes. Can’t wait to go back!

I purchased an item in this store yesterday but I won’t be back. The merchandise is interesting enough but the snobbiness of the staff is sort of, well, REALLY SNOBBY. No greeting, no offer of help, and when I purchased a purse, I was not looked at or spoken to. After I paid for my purchase, I had to ask for a bag and wrapping. She just handed it to me quickly and turned away. The other woman working there walked by me a few times with no acknowledgement that I was in the store. Just a simple greeting, like, oh say, HI, works for me. Anyway, you may be wondering if I’m some crazy lady and that’s the reason for their behavior — but I’m just a plain, boring, normal person with a credit card. And no, I didn’t have a snake around my neck or stinky dog with me, or bubbles coming out of my nose. I sort of wished I did as that would justify things a bit more.

Nice jewelry but shoes and clothes are not very fashion forward. Accessories are nice, including the hats, tights and socks, also the earrings and necklaces are pretty. The owner walks around barefoot and that’s really gross. Prices are high. Like sky high, it’s really strange. Some employees are nice, others, not so much! I wanted to like it, but it’s overall rewiew is 2.5 for me

Thank you Switch Shoes for turning me onto Fly London and Figura shoes. I was stuck in a Dansko clog rut but you’ve saved me … now I can be comfortable, stylish and unique! And love the Roiboos tea you served me whilst I ogled over your shoe selection … and the few pieces of jewelry you carry are cool too.

I am returning to the world of work a mature woman, needing a style that expresses confidence and individuality. I ambled into Switch the other day just intending to look around and get a feel for their offerings. I left, just 45 minutes later, with complete interchangeable outfits (yes, more than one) — feeling like I had a style, anxious to wear my new treasures. Wendy encouraged me to try on different clothes that I would of not picked out on my own. Let these ladies play dress up with you, you won’t regret it. And don’t leave without your hug — it will make your day complete.

Walked in – hoped no one would bother me as I just wanted to browse and take in all the cool clothes, accessories, shoes, fashion and hipness before making a selection or two. I was greeted with a smile and an offer to help then left alone until moments later I found the most adorable skirt and HAD to ask if it was available in black (my go to skirt color) and most friendly salesperson stylist was there to assist me. In minutes she went from sales person to shopping buddy; offering advice, suggestions, a nod of the head a shake of the head — honest feedback! Not in an overly-​solicitous way but in a genuine let me help you make a selection that will make your day.
I was in heaven. Size help, nods, laughter, full on hugs when I tried on something out of my comfort zone that fit and was in my comfort zone.

I liked this funky little shop so much I wrote a review of it in my blog as part of my afternoon in Multnomah Village. Everyone there is laid back, friendly, and funny and they have great shoes!

Jen and Rita are angels. If I only have 20 minutes of kid free shop therapy time, they’ll whip 10 things off the shelf perfect for my size and the fun begins. For example, my husband got me a gift certificate for our anniversary. Jen picked out clothes that I raised my eyebrows at initially, but after I tried them on, I couldn’t believe how I was transformed from a frumpy mom into a cool babe with curves! Now, I understand that we may have one body, but tons of options of how to dress it up! Thanks, Jen!
PS — The owners are also excellent communicators with your significant other. You have a good chance of getting a gift you actually like!

This little shop is a great locally owned small boutique with great shoes and awesome clothing! The sales staff are excellent at helping you find new clothes and shoes that fit you well. The owners are community conscious women you will love to know.
It’s a great little find and you will soon be addicted!

This shoe store is amazing! The staff are top notch and they offer you tea right when you come in. Their selection is unique and funky which is what lam always looking for. I just got two perfect pair of boots and they were on sale. Super deal and great customer service. Where am I? The boots are waterproof leather, funky, cute, comfortable and warm. I have been looking high and low for these type of boots. They are so comfortable and good looking you can wear them to work and take a nice walk in them. By far both pairs are my Faves. If you like interesting and Unique clothing and shoes this is the place.

I haven’t been back to Switch since this summer (because I know it would mean kissing my paycheck good bye) but I fight the temptation to return every time I am in the Village. The shoes and accessories are as fun and classy as the owners — both of whom are extremely helpful and courteous. Despite the tininess of the shop, there is no pressure to purchase. The staff related to me like my more fashionable friends dispensing advice rather than the snobbish boutique workers dispensing hostility one comes across in the Pearl. Treat yourself and your feet to a visit to Switch! I will be back as soon as I get paid!

I went back to Switch today and my feet are oh-​so-​happy! 50% off all boots and shoes until the end of the year to make room for new inventory. I am now the proud owner of 3 new pairs of handmade Israeli leather boots — for less than $ 180! Unbelievable deal!!!

Totally love this place and only wish I had more money to spend here, although the top floor (somewhat hidden, find the staircase at the back of the store) has some really, really great deals. I got my Flipside hat here (didn’t want to pay the $ 50 for it, so my hubby bought it for me) and have since directed all those who covet it (trust me, there are many and they are justified) to Switch Shoes.
Okay, yes… the store has really cool, trendy shoes that I love to oooh and ahhh over. They are beautiful! Someday, I will cough up the dough to buy some, as they are all very expensive for my taste. The surrounding accessories are also lovely to look at and would be nice purchases. However, it’s the staff that will bring me back. They are genuinely sugar-​coated, I swear. They offer you tea and cookies, for goodness sake! And you can tell they’re really, truly smiling at you because they’re happy to see you, stranger!

Two lovely ladies own and run this unique shoe & accessory store. Nearly everything they carry is either locally made or imported from Israel (which is where one of the owners hails from). Everything from bags & wallets, to cute jewlery, to the amazing selection of unusual and cute shoes is selected with care and style to be featured in this adorable little boutique.
Did I mention the shoes were amazing: I got candy apple green patent leather slides, but they also sell bright silver shoes with interesting strappy-​ness, an assortment of cute heels and inventive sneaks, and of course, cool boots. Its pretty much all the cute shoes an imagination could dream up but that you’d never see in a store (except in Israel I guess).
Great gifts are in abundance: scarfs, socks, cute little girly wallets and the coolest ever large $ 10 bag that folds up into a tiny little ball that fits in a small purse — this is my new ultimate perfect solution to stopping by a grocery store without my usual large re-​useable bag, I’ll just have this mini one all ready to go.
Switch is just another great reason to spend an afternoon in Multnomah Village.

I got a gift certificate for Switch for my birthday, and went in all excited to buy a pair of boots. I was prepared to spend all afternoon and choose very carefully, because I’d been wanting new boots forever and I’m on a budget, so I don’t buy boots frivolously. BUT after trying on about four pairs and starting to stress because I was afraid I’d pick the wrong ones, the woman who was helping me told me that they were about to drop their prices for the First Friday sale — 50% off on all their winter boots!!! Joy, joy, JOY! How many pairs did I buy? I had my mother come down and shop with me, then my friend who wears boots that I love, and I bought two beautiful pairs. Then I went home all happy but could not stop thinking about that third pair that I had to leave behind. The next day I ran in and bought the third pair, which I am wearing right NOW. Why I love them is because I am convinced that if little brown bears wore boots, these are the boots that they would wear. Triple-​buckle brown suede — bears NEED buckles! Me too. (And no, I am NOT one of those «Fuzzies»! Or is it «Furries»? Well, whatever. I’m not one of them, those people who wear the — well, never mind. You know. Or you don’t, and you don’t need to.)

Anyway, like Kate said, Switch also has lots of great accessories — especially the SOCKS! Beautiful socks with stripes and polkadots and ribbons, and this time of year they also have the super-​cute hats and scarves and gloves. And socks. And jewelry, and very expensive, very beautiful purses, and the upstairs sales room has lots of cool imported clogs and boots and slip-​ons. And did I mention that they have lovely socks?

This store is fantastic. I walked in feeling very depressed because Grand Central Bakery no longer has my favorite cookies. Right away, I perked up. Shoes! Belts! Accessories! The store is sorta long and narrow with an upstairs loft space where they keep sale shoes. Apparently they import many of their brands from Israel, and they also stock shoes from Africa. Honestly, I didn’t see a lot that interested me as far as shoes go, but their belts are really, really cute– and their jewelry is stunning. I bought a $ 15 necklace and the matching earrings for $ 6.
As I said, the shoes weren’t really my thing, but some people would really dig them. And it’s worth heading out here for the fun, flirty jewelry, most of which, to be fair, would set you back a lot more than $ 21. If you’re ever in the village, be sure to check this place out.
