Great soundtrack of ‘Dust in the Wind’ and Sade’s ‘I Miss You’, on repeat, forever.

Most of the time I go to a Taco Bell or Taco Time I get the feeling that NOONE loves this place. They almost always seem a little Dumpy. This store is clean and crisp and the employees have an uncommonly good attitude for this type of business. Stop by you won’t be disappointed. I sure wasn’t. I wish it were is Salem where I live.

Hey, a restaurant that delivers! Holy crap! If you like Taco Bell better than local hero Taco Time, you are a communist, and not in a good, Portland way. American Mexican food, they’ve had a veggie burrito since the ‘90s and their crisp tacos are delicious. Did I mention they deliver?

Taco Time’s better than Taco Bell, all day. And this particular one’s good. Nice employees, really fast, food’s done right. It’s just fast food so this review is short and sweet but I like having this one nearby. Hadn’t really had TT much since I used to live in Hillsboro as a kid, and that one was excellent so it’s nice to see they’re still solid.

We went. The reason was because the 50th and Division food cart did not accept ATM and we did not have cash. It was on the way home to Woodstock, I needed to eat as I was getting shaky. Got a veggie burrito. Pinto beans, sour cream, yellow cheese… fan fare veggie burrito. Bonus is that is was a wheat tortilla and much more ample than a, say… 7 layer burrito from Taco Bell. It was also almost $ 1.50 more than a 7 layer, but it was a little bigger and had a wheat tortilla. Aside from being serviceable taste wise, biggest negative review issue was that the 1st3 bites were nothing but sour cream and tortilla. Beans & rice were clear in the middle and bottom. For $ 3.69 I could have had a kick ass one complete with real avocado at that food truck, even bigger, and yummy ass salsa too boot. and only 31 cents more. MUCH better value. My wife got the Taco De’Lite salad, with beans instead of meat. Holy crap, it was SMALL! Like a quarter the size of a Taco Bell one and it was $ 3.89… not even worth remotely considering, folks. Again, for a buck more you could get a super duper good one at the food truck. This veggie burrito was only a hair better than a 7 layer and not quite as good as a Del Taco one, if you have been to one of those. The salsa in little packets is on par with Del Taco too. We ordered some Mexi Fries… basically some tater tots. Medium tater tater tot for $ 1.89… it was what it was… like frozen ones put in a microwave. I am giving 2 stars only because if you only have ATM it beats hypoglycemia if you are in a pinch for cheap ATM option food(like we were) and the person at the window of the drive through was super nice. Taco Bell was a better value, sadly. Doubt we will go back on purpose.

This is much like any Taco Time in terms of food selection but what puts it above others is the fact that their empanadas are only $ 1…every.single. day. Location isn’t ideal and getting in and out of this busy corner can be a pain but the warm cinnamon sugar dusted rolls of empanada goodness is well worth the frustration.

The best thing about Taco Time is they put the cheese on the meat and it gets melty. Oh — and they aren’t afraid to fry things. This Taco Time is a good one. The parking and car in-out access a little wonky — and it’s even hard to access on foot. But, they have nice staff. Business-like but nice and they keep the place clean. They don’t have a drive-through, which is weird for the location. But the interior is actually pleasant, so it’s not a big deal to sit down and eat your taco.

Serves the purpose of filling you with food a small step up from Taco Bell. The place is clean and the staff are pleasant. Quick and to-the-point fast food.
