I’ve been training with Josh for the last six months. I’ve seen three trainers since injuring my back a few years ago, and Josh is by far the most skilled and compassionate instructor. I’d never lifted free weights before, and never had a consistent training program. I’ve been distance running since high school and had developed some bad posture and habits from programming for the past 15 years. I really appreciate Josh’s approach — lots of positive feedback and reasonably paced progression. I’m a bit of a slow learner when it comes to new body movement, so he’s had his work cut out for him in teaching me basic posture, lifting and safety in the gym. I’d suffered from severe back pain since about 2010 — bad enough that I’d be stuck in a lying or sitting position and unable to get up to walk without rolling onto the floor and slowly maneuvering myself into a standing position. After about two months of training, I had an episode — but instead of lasting a week to 10 days, I recovered in 2 days. Now, six months later, I have no back pain and feel the strongest on my bike that I’ve ever felt. I totally recommend Josh!

I am about 40 years old and I have started my first genuine attempt at getting my health under control. I have just completed my first week with Josh. I could not be more happy with my experience. When I started I had no idea what an active role Josh would play outside the gym. We discuss nutrition and overall health and well being. I am starting from a point of an overweight smoker in generally poor health. Josh has helped me in one week to start feeling better physically. Most importantly he has helped me understand how possible it is to get to a better place. Form & Function was a great beginning for me. I think it is perfect start for anyone! Just my $.02 Shawn
