I went to the Coin Cottage last week-end to trade in some gold Pamp grams for a larger bar/coin. The guy there is very knowledgeable and a straight shooter. He tells you competitors prices up front. He is very patient and extremely fair in pricing.

The guy was not very friendly and didn’t seem to be eager to buy my stuff even though 3 other places gave me similar quotes, this guy low balled ALL my stuff(gold and coins) and wanted to charge me to test it(if he didn’t buy it) and to take the stones out(even though he was going to keep them) etc. Not a place I’d recommend. I got $ 500 extra dollars from another place for the same stuff!

My daughter and I love this place. They are really cool helping a kid who is into coin collecting. They seem to have very decent prices.

During my first visit I asked to leave the store because of closing time, although they themselves were in the midst of getting a price quote for me. On my second visit, an individual who identified himself as the brother of the owner was highly condescending, to the point where I was made to feel insulted When I asked some fairly simple questions about proof coins, my query was met with derisive sighs and impatience. When I asked him if there was something wrong, he replied, «(sigh) I’m at the point in my day where I don’t have time for questions.» Not a store I would recommend for hobbiests who want to have fun collecting coins.
