So, so delicious. Add bacon– just do it! Located in the heart of the food carts. Great service, too!

BEST Grilled Cheese in the nation! I’ve had grilled cheese in the Reading Terminal in Philly and food trucks in DC and it just doesn’t compare to the grilled cheese cart in Portland! I had it last year at both locations — Downtown and Alder Cart — and was so impressed that it was my first meal landing to Portland! I shared the Modor and Big Huevo with my boyfriend. Both are delicious — I like the Modor a little bit better though. I ordered the Modor as is — didn’t make any changes. If you added any more toppings, it would be too much. As for the Big Huevo — it was a bit heavier with a fried egg, but the grilled jalapenos were a bit overpowering. I think next time I would substitute the jalapenos for mushrooms. The sandwiches are large, just having one is very filling. I recommend honestly just sharing one with a friend. What’s nice about the sandwiches is that the cheese isn’t too heavy and they aren’t too buttery or greasy. It just melts in your mouth. The chips on the side are okay — a bit salty, I like the pickle. The school bus is pretty cool — I recommend eating in there. Bring Cash. There is a $ 0.50 credit card fee. I highly recommend venturing out to the grilled cheese cart in the Alberta district for lunch or late-night, or both!

My wife and I had to stop when we saw the bus. The food was delicious. I had the kindergartner with pepperoni, salami, and a fried egg with pepper jack and cheddar cheese. I never knew a grilled cheese could be so good. And the bus was a great touch with the seating inside. Felt like home for me. If you ever find yourself in Turlock, CA you have to check out Viva Taco Bus. Best Mexican food in the area in my opinion.

Like the name suggests, this food truck has an array of grilled cheese sandwiches and they never seem to disappoint. On the most recent visit, my friends and I finished a hike and wanted to grab some dinner before heading back to Seattle and what better place than at the food trucks. Because it is a food truck be prepared to take your food to go or find a table to sit at in the parking lot. We ordered The Mondor, The Gabby and The Cheesus. I loved all three sandwiches(because what kind of foodie friend would I be if I didn’t sample everyone’s sandwich lol), but I personally loved mine(mondor) the best. I’m a fan of veggies and this sandwich has onion/avocado/peppers, so this is just a personal preference but all the sandwiches are wonderfully made. The grilled cheese comes with salt and pepper chips which are too salty imo(and I love salt lol) and a pickle. Overall for $ 7, I will definitely come back when I’m in the area and craving some cheese.

From the old school bus to sit in and eat, to their grilled cheese on white bread with the crusts cut off, this place brings you back to a place of innocence, playgrounds and scrapped knees. Delicious food, friendly staff and a nostalgic ambiance. Love!

It was a beautiful day and I walked over for some lunch. Everyone was friendly and they offered my dog some treats(that is the way to her heart). I had the jalapeño grilled cheese sandwich and it was awesome. It had a little kick to it which is what I like.

Yummmmm, touring the area on my stomach, this little place was recommended. Had the«most popular» with bacon. Dinning on the school bus. Nice fun place to grab a loaded grilled cheese.

I had the hot brie. It was extremely flavorful due to the mustard. And they literally painted on the butter, so you know it was good. It was a fun experience, and if I’m craving grilled cheese, this truck is a good option.

Had a quick dinner here since it was nice outside and wanted to enjoy the weather(in the shade of course). Never have I been disappointed with this place. Today, instead of your normal grilled cheese with meat… opted for the breakfast one. .aka.The Hunter… had the usual… egg. ham…bacon…the good stuff… This place is always consistent for me and the service is fast too!

This place is such a good idea and so fits in with eclectic charm of East Portland. An old school bus sits on the lot that’s been converted to tables for people to eat their grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s painted on the inside and is just adorbs. There are also outside picnic tables for you to enjoy your sandwiches outside in the glorious sun. I got the little cheesus which was essentially a buttery disgustingly delicious patty melt. It just melted in your mouth. It did come with standard yellow mustard which I could’ve done without. I think it took away from the melt. The tomato soup was sub par which is why I’m giving a rating of three. It was very thin and watery. Not a lot of flavorful. I generally like thick tomato soups so I can dip my sandwich into the soup. This was like dipping my sandwich into water. The soup had also little disgusting bits of over cooked veggies floating in it. They were gross to eat. They added nothing to the soup. I’m also not privy to celery which was in the soup. Anyway… Go get a sandwich… The soup is up to you.

This is a AWESOME food truck! I mean who doesn’t love a good grilled cheese sandwich? I don’t care how old you are, a grilled cheese sandwich just makes you feel like a kid again. The best part is that they converted an old school bus and put chairs and tables inside so people can eat. We brought my little monster(who’s just about three years old) to this place because we heard they had two of his most favorite things in the whole wide world, cheese and a bus. All he wanted to do was go on the bus and then when he found out he could eat his sandwich too… talk about blowing someone’s mind lol. The sandwiches are cheesy(the way they’re suppose to be) and pretty damn delicious if you haven’t had one in awhile. The prices are cheap and affordable and this place should be on everybody’s list of places to eat in Portland.

Grilled cheese food cart, eaten on a bus, on Alberta. It doesn’t get much more Portland than that! I love that they use Tillamook cheddar, because, what else. I opted for the«Kindergartner» build your own — tillamook cheddar, tomato, egg, $ basil pesto on multigrain. My sandwich was super rich and buttery, but it was a grilled cheese after all. A little heavy for lunch(comes with thick cut ruffled potato chips too). Delicious, but I’d recommend splitting with a friend, unless you’re ready to go into an afternoon food coma and take a siesta. It was a little too much grease for me to eat all at once, but I’ll definitely go back and try more with friends!

I have only been here twice, but each time I have gotten the Gluten Free version of The Shocker. It does not disappoint. Its cheesy and peppery and hits the spot. Each sandwich comes with a pickle spear and crinkle chips. The prices are decent and the service is quick. Plus, you can sit in an old school bus while you munch down your tasty sandwich.

As much as I love grilled cheese(homemade of course), I was actually skeptical to come here since I wanted a light lunch, assuming that this would of been something super heavy. You know, it’s hard to ride a bike on a food coma in the cold.(Yes, there’s bike parking right outside)! We stopped by and there was no line(because we’re lucky like that). And had a look on the menu and some descriptions, there’s also specials with pictures on the side of their bus. There’s actually TWO buses. Oh gosh, I should of started with that. I MEANTHEYSERVEYOUON A SCHOOLBUS. It’s the most legit thing ever. You can enter from two sides of the bus, you sit on the actual seats with tables, they converted some space for a counter, AND you can open and close the doors. It’s amazing and covered in some colorful artwork. Hard to miss at this location and the experience was definitely fun. I can’t even remember what I ordered, but I can remember the flavors. Super hot and crispy bread(not burnt) and with each bite, there was oozing cheese just ready to burn your tongue. I added bacon to mines and it was mind blowing because bacon on everything. A side of fresh slice of pickle and a hearty bag of chips + free water. The portion might look small, but it’s actually more than enough food for one person. I wish I had to stomach to try everything on their menu, but it’s something to bookmark for the future. Stop by this location if you’re in the area because you get to tell people you had an epic grilled cheese on a bus for less than $ 10. Thanks Portland!

It’s so good to eat comfort food in a comfortable place with the person you are most comfortable with. This place knocks it out of the park. We had the«behemoth» sandwich and split it. It’s basically a hamburger with two cheese sandwiches as the bun and all the fixings. Delicious! Also had the tomato soup for added yumminess. The guys who run it were really nice and the bus where we enjoyed the meal was perfect. It’s also right next door to the Caravan tiny house hotel! What a terrific place to have a great meal with a little quirkiness which is what makes us love Portland!

There was a school bus at the corner so I got curious… It was actually a dining area where you can sit and eat your meal as well as outdoor seating. Went up to a cheesy looking food truck trailer thing and ordered the one and only Cheezus and my wife ordered The Woody. The Cheezus is a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches as the«buns». It’s a pretty healthy meal because it comes with kettle chips and a pickle with running one mile later(optional). First bite, OMCheezus! Hot melted cheese, meaty burger, and fresh veggies orchestrated a symphony in my mouth. Within the next minute my plate was devoured and my grumbling belly was comforted. I got to take a couple of bites of The Woody afterwards to taste. The bacon in the grilled cheese gave it a very unique flavor; much more smoky and woody. As I put the woody in my mouth, the ultimate combination of thick slices of bacon and cheesy cheese left me ecstatic and wanting more. This woody gave me a buzz… light years away from here. Despite the cheese you have to trade for their cheese, it is worth the special experience. What a great day playing tourist. Hope to have galvanized your taste buds.

The Cheezus is sooooo good! Grilled cheese + burger = heaven. From a heart attack. The grilled cheese and the burger meat are just so perfect in harmony. The flavors are so mmm mmmmmm. It’s ridiculously heavy, and while I only had half as a midnight snack, I could have easily eaten the other half. Of course I woke up the next day with a mean case of heartburn. It was worth it! There are outdoor dining tables as well as a retro-themed school bus with a bar table and booths inside, lined with yearbook photos.
