A nice, quaint, neighborhood pub with a solid selection of beers and ciders on tap and friendly & knowledgeable staff. Also, free pool all the time! Was very pleased to see this is close to my new place and I will gladly return.

Don’t come here, it’s my favorite bar and I don’t want a ton of new comers ruining it. Stay away, best place ever.

This was the first bar I visited after relocating from Oakland to Portland and I have never felt more welcome! Erin is an absolutely amazing bartender, it’s almost like she sensed what I needed(a strong ginger vodka!) before I even asked. I’ve only smelled the food thus far, but even as a vegetarian I can appreciate how delicious it smells. This will definitely be my regular place from now on. :)

I have the softest of spots for this bar. It’s one of my favorite bars in Portland. I went to university in the area and this was some place my friends and I would always go to, but even years after finishing school I still find myself coming back for their stiff drinks, comfy dive atmosphere, great service, pool, and strange assortment of mismatching décor. Come here for a chatty night with a close friend and play a round of giant Janga. You won’t be sorry!

This place is cool. The bartenders are friendly enough and there is a sweet, cozy space in the rear of the bar.

This is a nice little neighborhood pub. Decent drink prices, pool, pinball, food, outdoor patio, friendly staff. I liked the ambiance and food at The Sundown Pub, though my husband liked it less. His Chicken Enchilada was cold in the middle. My Vegan Bowl was lovely, though! 3 Bean Chili, rice and greens(kale, I think). All mixed up it was nicely spiced, and it was a HUGE portion — certainly enough for another meal. Plus, they had Anthem cider on tap!(A side note: the women’s bathroom is a one-seater, but it’s cute.) If I lived in that area I would probably be a regular.

I came in here last night to have a drink with a friend. The food smelled good, alas… I had none. Looked like the best food options ran somewhere around $ 9.00. The lighting is sort or romantic, there’s a pool table and a juke box. They’ve got T. V and cheap drinks(yes it looked like you could catch a Blazers game). The bathroom(ladies) was clean, they appeared to have a regular Dial liquid hand soap dispenser, and on the left side, that had put a Ketchup bottle full of Dr. Bronner’s castile soap. The bartender was friendly, and the crowd seemed tame. There were some locals in pajamas in the back playing video poker… cute! lol… Anyhow, I would recommend this place for a little bite and a drink form the full bar. Enjoy Unilocalers ! ;)

I knocked back a couple beers and chatted with a few locals. Despite the outside appearance, this is bar has a great feel. Almost a little hideaway. Loads of bottled beer to choose from. Good draft line up. I didn’t eat. They have a full bar, cool, eclectic signs, but not too much. I like the carpet. The restroom was clean and kind of artsy if I remember correctly.

This place is a great low key neighborhood bar. If you are in the bar before 4:20PM and have ordered a drink, you get your next drink for ONEDOLLAR! They have fun little wooden tokens you can snag to show you were there at 4:20PM. I am not a beer drinker so I am always on the lookout for bars that have a good selection of ciders. They typically have selections on tap and in bottles. There seem to be quite a few beers to choose from as well. If cider and beer are not what you are looking for they also have a fully stocked bar. As far as food goes I have only tried the chips and salsa. I was satisfied with this snack and would gladly order it again. I’d say its hard to truly mess up chips and salsa. For entertainment they have a pool table. pinball machine, and even some silly board games. I will surly be back again for the 4:20PM dollar drink special!

Great pours & prices. The menu is creative and fresh! Great for a hot day or w winter night for a Blazer game. The only problem I’ve had are the prices of my drink have been inconsistent between employees, but I’m not one to correct a price– maybe it’s on special!

This bar is pretty great, prices are a little higher than expected for a bar on Lombard. Service is good but management has been a problem for lots of past employees… which always makes me a little less likely to support the bar. Décor is fun and a relatively relaxed atmosphere.

We live across the street from this place and it stays pretty quiet on the weekends, which is nice. It is definitely a dive, but totally our favorite place. The bartenders are fun, friendly, and entertaining! The drinks are pretty strong, and everything is super cheap! Love it! There’s a juke box(with awesome music choices), a pool table, and board games :)

Very nice neighborhood bar. Great homemade food, you gotta try their artichoke dip! Plenty of beers on tap and solid mixed drinks. Super friendly staff and the cleanest bar bathrooms around! It has a good mixed of clientele, between college students and NoPo residents. I think they open at 4:00 pm or near Sundown… haha get it? Not sure if that has anything to with with the name of the place.

It was love at first sight. I heard about this bar from the sweetheart. All I knew was that there was a super cool special that occurred at a certain time during the happy hour hours(if that made any sense at all to you) and it was close to my parents’ house. And I would love it, he said. He was right. I should preface this by saying that the day he told me about this bar, I was mad at him. The day that we went to the bar, I was in a little stressed and he couldn’t remember where it was so I was going into this with low expectations. This bar is so cozy. I wished it was around 10 years ago when I was still living in the neighborhood. This place is so cool. I love that there is a bookshelf full of books. There is a piano you can jam out on. There is a cozy fireplace with cozy chairs. There’s board games galore. The drinks were cheap and good. You know how sometimes you meet a person and you know immediately that you’re both going to get along and have an awesome time together? That was how I felt about the bartender and I never feel that way about any bartender. Ever. I was sober and thinking this. I wish this neighborhood bar was MY neighborhood bar. While browsing through the books and games, I even contemplated moving back to North Portland. This is the perfect bar for me. I’m not much of a drinker and going to a bar to drink, watch ESPN, and look at people isn’t my idea of fun so it’s nice that to have other fun distractions. Plus with all the cool stuff they have in here, it makes it easy to meet people.

The drinks are SUPERSTRONG. While it’s great they’re so generous with the alcohol, if I wanted it straight it’s how I’d order it. Usually the perfect balance of not being too crowded or too empty. Their artichoke dip is always delicious and freshly made! One time in the fall the person I was with and I both purchased a apple pie drink. The drink was so strong I could barely taste anything apple pie-y. On the whole, this place pretty okay.

The owner of this place is so friendly & kind! The drinks are strong, the pudding shots are amazing(latest flavor was White Russian; amazing!), seating is comfy and the lighting is perfect. I have been a handful of times and they have never let me down. :-) Free Billiards!

This had been my neighborhood bar for over a year. Their drinks are good, especially the pudding shots. The price is right for everything, and the atmosphere is very chill, but that doesn’t mean their service is subpar in the slightest. They have a jukebox, giant jenga(read: jenga with 2-by-4s), board games, and trivia games. Meeting strangers at the bar had always been an experience. Truly worth trying.

My wife and I decided to try this place for the first time. It was a nice cozy little place with really, really good artichoke dip/chip plate! The beer selection was nice and the drinks good, and strong too. We will go back, but the next time USECASH. Or pay up at every new pour. They make you leave your driver’s license at the bar along with your credit card if you are paying with plastic… that is the PERFECT opportunity for Identity theft to occur. It made me feel uncomfortable. I am not inferring that the staff is all about identity theft, but someone else could use your info to commit such an act. That was a first for me, and a last. I will use cash at this place.

Their drinks are STRONG! How could you go wrong with $ 3 tequila shot(pretty sure it’s a triple shot) plus a coronita. Maybe it was just a University of Portland special, but in any case, we always had a good time at Sundown.
