If you enter this location and see an «Employee» with a Name Tag that says Amanda… Run!!!
Worst customer service and attitude I have ever experienced at any of the UPS Store Locations in the Portland Area…

I would not usually do a write up for a ups store, but I was appalled by the way the employees acted there. It was sort of busy, but not terrible. Maybe a line of 5 people, but that should really not be too overwhelming for a business. The employees acted extremely annoyed with this. The biggest problem I had was one customer was clearly confused by something and messed up on a form. The employee with the dreads out loud called him a idiot. Not too his face, but to another employee, but it was in front of customers and very clearly heard. I work in retail myself and there are many times when customers can be annoying, frustrating, or even an idiot. But I would never dare to say that out loud in front of people. It’s very unprofessional. Save it for the break room or when the store is empty, but don’t do it when you have people around. I will not be retuning to this ups again. And I suggest a manager have a conversation with their employees about what it is like to be a professional in the work place.

Benjamin was creative and patient in finding a solution that fit my needs and my budget. Better service than the post office for sure, and shorter lines!

Two stories to share:
1) We went to ship a laptop packaged in the original materials that it came in. It needed to reach the recipient within 3 — 5 days and be insured. The price that came up was way over what was estimated online and would not get there in time. That seemed odd. I had mentioned that I had seen that USPS had better rates for faster service to my wife. «They don’t insure laptops. You should use us.» said the woman from behind the counter.
We decided not to use them and headed to the post office. When we got there we found that our package was actually 1 POUND lighter than the person at the UPS store had said and that she was lying about laptop protection. USPS for the win. The Post Office is way cheaper and way faster.
2) Fast forward to a return shipment with a pre-​printed label. We went to drop it off at the UPS store as it shipped UPS. Before we had left we searched for tape but couldn’t find any. We asked the woman at the counter to tape it for us and she responded «You know… we don’t tape for free. Usually we charge a dollar to $ 1.50. I would have charged that guy $ 5.» She had her finger outstretched at a very large box. Our box about 9 inches long. My wife replied «The Post Office doesn’t charge to tape up a box.»
«We are NOT the Post Office» the woman behind the counter spit back.
«But you are competing against them» I responded.
Awkward silence followed.
She didn’t charge us for the 11″ of tape she used.
Moral of the story: AVOID THIS PLACE!

$ 1.50 to use the computer to print out one page. Robbery!

I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I’ve been using their services for a while & always find them cordial & professional. It’s a UPS store so I’m not there to make great friends with anyone, having said that though, I find the staff always helpful & communicate very nicely.
I’d recommend you to actually visit the store & experience the store + their services for yourself.

This UPS location is not far from the place I just moved into, so thought I’d give them a try. First, I had a few things I needed to print out, and noticed that UPS has a print option online, so I uploaded my docs and sent them to be printed, which actually wasn’t too bad and printed sooner than the estimated time, but I also realized I was charged $ 2.00 more for whatever fee they add on (the website doesn’t have prices listed anywhere that I could find, and the price only shows the total without giving any itemized information so I have no clue what the printing costs).
So, went in to pick up prints and also happened to have an Amazon purchase to return, which I needed to have the label printed out for. The label was prepaid, and most places will let you email them the label to print out and just pay for that print. This UPS store — nope. You have to go on their back computer, which costs a ridiculous $ 1.50 for anything under 5 minutes, and then you have to pay for your print.
The staff were not incredibly friendly, although after being not too thrilled with having to pay $ 1.57 for a 1-​page b&w printout, the guy helping me just said, yea, the management makes them charge for the computer time.
I’m pretty bummed this is the closest place for printing/​shipping now. Was living near the Fedex/​Kinkos and Postal Annex in NW and both of them are much better with services (both will let you email them something and just charge for the printout) and staff are friendlier.

I think the customer service here is horrendous. They struggle to even acknowledge my presence almost every time I come in, and seem put out by the presence of a customer. Unfortunately it is conveniently close to my home and the wait time (once you are acknowledged) is usually short. I get the feeling they are not treated well by management or something because the employees always seem so disgruntled. Oh well.

I came here to mail something as it’s much closer than the post office (which, I confess, if my preferred mode of post) on a Monday mid-​day. For once, it was pretty quiet, and the clerks’ banter made me smile. I spent more than I’d hoped on shipping, but as I was on foot, decided my time was worth more. I asked about both mail box services for my partner, as well as scanning services. I realized I needed to ask more detailed questions about the scanning, but I’ll do that over the phone.
This location is usually pretty busy as (as others have noted) there isn’t really another post office or shipping location nearby, and the post office up at Foster/​Powell is: always: busy. But I do think that the employees here are doing their best to be helpful and keep things light.

For some reason this UPS store wasn’t coming up in my Unilocal search for UPS or ‘UPS drop off’ so I’m adding that to my review. I came here to make a UPS drop off of a UPS parcel going to Amazon via UPS. This being the UPS store, it accepts pre-​paid UPS drop off packages as well as provides packing material and services, paid UPS shipping services and more. They always seem to be pretty under the gun in this store, and it’s super busy. That may be due to the fact that there are few alternative UPS stores in the area.
Aside from the busy nature, this spot serves well as a UPS drop off point.
There… that should work.

Late getting some gifts in the mail… ran over here on New Year’s Eve mid day… very busy. parking can be tricky. there is a drive up window to something that was sort of in the way… keep your eyes open… What I noticed first is that the place was messy… cluttered, …just looked like it had been hit with a Christmas rush of mail and deliveries and hadn’t had a chance to clean up… but the clerk was very nice… did the customs form for me (Yeah!) and remembered to have me double check the addresses. I would go back… thought the price was reasonable for ground shipping as well… everyone has to eat.

Decent and speedy service every time I go.

Excellent service with a wide range of offerings. Friendly staff. Good location.
So what’s the rub? It’s really really really really really really really expensive. As in «OMG, what just happened?» expensive. Just shipped a light weight, medium sized box to NYC, 2^nd day. I figured $ 40 – 50. Hah. Try $ 140. $ 140??? You gotta be kiddin me.
If your time is valuable and money is no object, by all means, UPS Store. If you want a much better deal, USPS is way more reasonable. FedX /​Kinkos might be worth looking into as well (wish they had one around here).

I have used this UPS store three times now. Each visit has been pleasant and fast, exactly what I want from them.

Like many I am one of those people who waits until the last minute to do my Christmas shopping and mailing. I waited until today, 6 days before Christmas and the weekend before, to mail my packages and decided the UPS store would probably be better (and closer) than heading to the post office. Wow… I was right. I walked in and there were about 10 people in a line winded around the store. I thought I’d be there a while. Someone came over and helped me get my things boxed up quickly and well, so as not to break in transit. The wait was only about 10 minutes which was incredible. Super efficient, keeping everyone happy for the holidays rather than stressed out!!! Totally worth skipping the post office.

I am a ceramic sculpture and I have to ship strangely shaped objects, so packing can be a real adventure. The people at the UPS Hawthorne store are very patient with me and helpful, at other shipping stores I have had a lot of trouble finding the help I need. At times I go into the store with everything unpacked and ask the counter person to take a look at my packing technique and see if it is alright. They give me there advice and help me finish the packing. This is a great service to me.

I had a specific shipment to take care and was hoping the UPS store would help, but I was sorely mistaken. The person helping me insisted on charging more for a package because it was over a certain size. When asked how much over, she informed me it was, «a few inches.»
This seemed unfortunate, though a somewhat inevitable part of doing business with UPS or any other carrier, until I saw the price. The surcharge was $ 45 on the package that should have cost roughly $ 55 dollars. This surcharge was huge! After further probing the person behind the counter revealed the package was only 1″ over, and as it turns out she incorrectly measured the width of the package.
Sadly, she and I could not agree on the measurement despite using her tape measure and I left the store. An alternative store charged me a much more reasonable fee to ship my package. I cannot recommend this particular UPS location.

It is what it is, a ups annex for all your shipping and mailing needs. We go here often because it is closer than the post office, and they sell stamps (unlike FedEx/​Kinkos). You do pay a slight surchage on stamps/​shipping, but it is only a couple bucks more, if that.
Works out for us because we went to the real post office first, and there were about 30 people in line. Forget that! My time is worth more than the extra $ 1.50 I spend at the UPS store. Staff is always really friendly, and even now, near the holidays, never that crowded.
