Crappy experience all around. Had to go with another company after being strung along for months. Hate leaving a negative review but…

Ryan installed a new a/​c unit last fall. I initially paid him for the unit itself before he ordered it, in August, then waited for him to install — for two months. By that time the weather had cooled off. The install seemed to go ok and the unit works fine as far as I can tell. At that time I paid him for his labor.
Fast forward to March of this year. We had the house inspected and were told that a copper line (I believe it’s the suction line) needed to be insulated. Obviously an oversight by Ryan. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don’t mind the mistake as long as he fixes it. So I gave him call. He said he would be out soon to take care of it. He never showed. I followed up with calls at least a dozen times. Several times he said he would be out that day or the next. Never showed.
It’s now June 22^nd — three months later. Still never showed. I put the insulation on myself because it’s supposed to reach 100 this week. Not sure if I did it correctly, but it’s better than nothing.
If you consider hiring Ryan, keep in mind that it’s a huge hassle to get him to show up. If you do hire him, make sure you don’t pay him until the work is done and inspected by a 3^rd party to make sure it is done completely and correctly. If you need to get him back out to correct a mistake after you’ve paid him, he’ll never show.
