Hope for the best. EXPECT the worst and very miniscule results. I hate to bite a hand that may help, but I found myself walking thru these doors at TPI many times to be denied to check my mail when I might have something very important to respond back to, I watch and hear individuals who may be successful at reaching farther grounds be toyed with and lose hope of getting the help they need including myself, as I watch un professional staff get people riled up while they are attempting to get information or assistance. inconsistencies can be spotted the moment you walk in these doors on how they model their outreach such as focusing on how they can get individuals to get on edge and frustrated going around and around basically beating around the bush. Helinda and Nate are what their staff should model their workers to apply to their skills in the social services business, thing will never be perfect but hands down TPI INC has a mountain to climb Jesus may have left the building. Step up TPI get serious. Thank you Nate thank you Helinda Thank you Janice. TPI I guess their maybe we hope. People do need you, You have taught me patience and not to rely on you but I still have hopes you can help US the folks who come thru your doors on a daily basis who ain’t system user and abuser.

I agree. This place is amazing. I was new to Portland and basically starting over a few years ago. This place helped me get ID, helped me find housing, helped me apply for a bus pass, there’s even a service to use their address for mail, if you’re homeless until you get a permanent address. (I was never homeless, but I used their address for a while, as I couldn’t use mail where I was living.) If anyone needs help and they are just starting out or starting over in life, this is a great place to start. Ask for Shelly, too. She was my case worker — a dear woman, who helped me out a lot. Too bad they only have five stars. TPI rocks!

If you’re ever down and out, this is one of two places to go. They offer a range of services, from showers, help getting your ID so you can look for work, help with an eviction notice (if they have the funds they’ll cut you a check if you can prove you have a reliable source of income), help getting into section eight housing or filing for disability status, help getting in contact with and accessing veterans services, referrals to treatment if you have a hard time with kicking a nasty substance abuse habit, referrals to a Central City Concern employment services office that will be the subject of another of my reviews, and if you are on the streets and can deal with a waiting list they also have a case-​managed shelter program that offers up to four months of free living. Plenty of time to get it together and get somewhere better … or at least a blessed respite if you’re a chronic screw-​up or there’s simply nothing going for you at the time.
There’s also a women’s shelter, but I have yet to find out how that works.
