Tré Bone

Awesome pet store in my area, happy to take my pup there anytime were on Lombard. Great selection and friendly staff. Happy they are in my neighborhood and we can shop there.

There’s really no better place to go. The people here are super friendly and helpful. Its all about service, and I couldn’t ask for better than what I get from Tre Bone.

I can always trust that Tre Bone will have quality products. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and I appreciate that they even have their canned foods separated into chunky style and pâté style (awesome considering I have a picky pooch). And last year when it was snowy and the city seemed to shut down — they were open. I love this store and think it’s been a great addition to St Johns.

Best place in the neighborhood for your pet needs. Everything is guaranteed and there are a ton of awesome options for treats and food. I bought my chihuahua a harness, he wore it for a couple walks when I realized it wasn’t for him. I traded it with no problem. They’re always helpful and kind.

Tre Bone is a wonderful place for pet supplies. The owners are the workers and care about your satisfaction and the neighborhood. I think the neighborhood is lucky to have a locally owned & operated store with a great selection and fair prices.
My shop dog is my first dog and they’ve been extremely helpful with getting me what I need at the right price. The carry the food and the treats you want to serve to your pets. They aren’t in your face about what you should give your pets, but if you want their advice, they’ll give it to you with your budget in mind. When I was broke they steered me to good food I could afford, and educated me about some of the differences between the different brands. This is a level of customer service that is just awesome. I do buy more expensive food now, but they are still cool and still give me the info to make informed decisions.
The only caveat is that my dog loves them so much that he wants to walk into their store whenever we walk down Lombard, and he doesn’t understand why they are closed on Mondays…

Going forward, Tre Bone has won over our business. We have two cats and a 70 lb dog and had been going to Petco for all of our supplies, trying to take advantage of small rewards and savings here and there.
We ventured into Tre Bone look for dog treats originally and returned for more treats and nail clippers. The sign in the store notes — no wheat, no corn, no soy, no by products and no products of China.
We have a dog that has a limb deformity and needs special food and a cat that has an allergy to corn. Specialty food has slowly become a necessity.
Learning that there is a local store where we can buy literally ANY THING for our pets and know that the product is natural and healthy, is amazing.
The owners have been courteous and helpful each time we have visited and taken the time to answer any questions we have had and acknowledge our presence.
The hours also work for both my partner and myself, who sometimes can’t get off work until after 6.
We’re very excited to start our relationship with Tre Bone and continue buying more product from them.

Went to this store today and have to say it is the best thing I have done for my pet. The owner of the store is so knowledgeable and cares about animals so much. She only stocks the very best.
I had been using the same dog food for years and was having a hard time finding it anywhere except for petco. The owner informed me that the company had sold to a larger company and the quality of the food was basically crap now. She suggested a better, cheaper food and treats. Also my dog is compulsive eating fast and eating anything, she suggested activities that will keep his mind busy and better hints for using toys such as Kongs. This is now my pet store.

This place is awesome! Just moved to St John’s and found this gem. All high quality food at good prices. The shopkeeper Serge was super friendly and helpful, and gave me a couple samples, saying if I need more he has em! Also, they have bulk dog treats, one of which was small enough and fish flavored for my cat (she loves them). Great place, definitely check it out.

The guy who is usually there (the owner?) is the nicest guy and very helpful. I bought a front clip collar today and he took his time explaining how to use it and was patient with all of my questions. He told me that if it doesn’t work out I can return it without a problem. The collar works great and the dogs love their salmon treats!

As many others have said, this store has a great, thoughtful selection of food and treats. I was eager for my puppy to be old enough to socialize so that we could walk to Tre Bone and pick out a toy! That being said, I was pretty put off by my experience. I understand that the woman behind the counter had good intentions, but it made me feel pretty crappy to have a steady stream of advice on how to handle my dog. She was very excited, but we are in puppy class and are working on her skills and my handling. We were doing our best, but this was literally her first time in a store. I want to support local business, but I don’t think I’ll be back. It was an uncomfortable experience that I don’t want to repeat. It’s a shame, really.

I’ve been going here for years. The owner is super-​friendly and helpful, and it’s one of the only places in the Portland area to get Orijen food for our two pampered pooches. They also run cool, local nonprofit projects like The Dogs of St. Johns calendar which I WILL get my dogs in… someday.

At this charming store they know my dog (and me) by name. Not only is the service exceptionally good, but it is also very helpful and informative. I feel good about feeding their foods to my pets. People are always commenting in how healthy their coats look, and I know a lot of that has to do with the good food they get at Tré Bone. I feel confident buying their products because I know that they are all very carefully selected with consideration for our pets health and tastes. They also consider how, by whom and where each product was made. This is so important! Our pets are not pets. Really they are our family (as they are for many «pet» owners) and their health is so important, so it’s wonderful to have such a great place to buy their food.
In addition to their fantastic service, knowledgable and caring staff, and fantastic selection of products, they also care about animals and their community. This is demonstrated through the many fundraisers and events they have, such as their Dogs of St. Johns calendar, which benefits the Oregon Humane Society.
This is the kind of small business that helps make St. Johns such a special place. I have and will continue to give them my loyal business.

I must say, these people really know their products, and they know the products that are good for our pets. They do all the work, so we don’t have to! When I first got my pup, being the clueless owner I was, just figured I would continue the same food he was previously on which was recommended by the shelter. I was advised they didn’t carry it because they were uncomfortable with the amount of recalls this particular brand had. They then recommended an alternate brand, similar food, which worked out perfectly. In every aspect of their business, I can tell this shop belongs to passionate owners who are truly doing what they were meant to do. I love that they are very active in the local St. Johns community and support appropriate non-​profit organizations as well. Give them your support!

This is a fantastic place! The staff is very helpful. I have a Golden Retriever that has some serious chompers. She needed something durable to chew on. They suggested an elk antler. It was the perfect option & I went back & bought 2 more. I try to support local, small businesses & I hope those of you reading this will do the same!

I recently adopted a 5-​year-​old Australian Shepherd mix with epilepsy. I have always only had cats, in part because up until a year and a half ago, I was a renter. I am madly in love with my new dog, and enamored with my new life as Dog Owner.
And, it’s so incredible to live within walking distance of Tre Bone. Me and my dog just jaunt on up there, and the owner takes his time giving me great advice, while my fuzzy friend tries to raid the bins of big beef bones on the floor.

My review is based off of one experience so it might be worth taking it with a grain of salt. I had heard good things about Tre Bone and decided to stop by one afternoon when I was in the area. The store is small but well stocked. I didn’t find anything that I hadn’t seen before but they carried some of my favorite tried-​and-​true products.
Why only two stars? When I was there a lady came in and told the woman manning the register that she had returned to pick up the back of dog food that they were holding for her. She was rung up and when the customer was given her total she presented a coupon. The woman at the register told her that she couldn’t use it for this purchase because it was considered complete when they held the bag of food for her and it couldn’t be applied retroactively. What?!? The lady hadn’t paid for the food, it wasn’t retroactive! She customer told the woman at the counter that she only had them hold the food at the suggestion of an employee the day before because they were low on that particular food and she had forgotten her coupon at home. When she asked why it made a difference that the food was on hold in using the coupon she was told that it was at the owners’ instruction.
Now this could have been a mistake, misunderstanding or some other reasonably explained scenario but I was put off by this kind of customer service. While it is a nice shop they don’t carry anything I can’t get elsewhere and their prices are average so based on what I saw I won’t be giving them my business.

My dog absolutely loves this place. The owner is always amazingly friendly and helpful. My dog takes treats from him as well which is down right bizzare because he hates dudes. They only offer natural pet products and corn is never the main ingredient which i learned the hard way, is not good for dogs even though most food has it as the main ingredient.
The antlers… from which animal escapes me, is like crack for the pup. He all of a sudden listens and hears everything when one of those bad boys is in the picture. They have a minimum 5 dollar debit charge, which seems very fair, but when your in the shop and notice the prices, you may notice your a bit short and need to shop some more.
Awesome store, good prices, and good for the area.

I love this place. I love the owners. I love the products and how this business always reminds me why I would rather buy from local instead of chains. I go in and they remember my dogs’ names, they are a wealth of knowledge and are willing to help me find products if they do not carry them. I have even had them special order things, which they always do with a smile.
The owners are constantly helping out the local community and charitable groups and I am willing to pay a little more knowing my dollar is going back into the community (and hopefully help some homeless pets). Also are in the «know» about local resources pet owners might need, they helped me find the right vet which I am thankful for.
