This place was ok, nothing special. The lady working there seemed kind of clueless when my hubby asked what their best shake was. I had vanilla chai tea and it tasted watered down and was not as flavorful as some of the others I have had. Not sure I’d go back.

The staff is always friendly here. They have a great flavor selection that rotates. The Newberry 8 calories per ounce frozen dessert option is very tasty.

Fro-yo? Check. Iced soy caramel lattes? Check. Breakfast sandwiches? Check. This place has it all! However, the store does seem to be experiencing a bit of an identity crisis. With a name like Twist, I was imagining the most cheerful and lively fro-yo shop, typical of most other contemporary fro-yo cafés. But instead, I found Twist to be a very calm environment with much more coffee shop vibes – the feeling of relaxation I get from listening to Jack Johnson on repeat on my iPod. The decorations were contemporary, yet traditional, with exposed beams on the ceiling and an orange/brown leather couch color scheme — much like that of a contemporary home furnishings showroom. My personal favorite part of the store, however, was the electric, flat screen fireplace, below the flat screen TV monitor which happened to be playing my favorite station ESPN(a sports station, primarily). And oh yeah, the fro-yo! I came to Twist after having a big salad for lunch at Garden Bar, and so I definitely deserved a nice treat. The flavor selection was really decent, although I was perplexed by the fact that they had both Cake Batter(low-fat) and Birthday Cake(low-fat)… However, I did not let this get to me, and instead I focused my attention on the Pistachio(non-fat) and Peanut Butter(low-fat) flavors. Typical me though, I stuck with Plain Tart(non-fat) and topped it with semisweet mini chocolate chips and strawberries and blueberries. The quality of this fro-yo was simple, yet delicious — I believe they use YoCream brand? Whatever it is, it works. Needless to say, I beat the heat with this refreshing treat in the comfort of this quasi-living room/coffee shop/fro-yo shop!

This is quite possibly my new favorite froyo place in Portland! I feel like that’s all I really need to say! Great flavors of froyo and great selection of toppings! Plus it’s in a really trendy part of Portland and there are a lot of cool shops you can wonder as you eat you dessert.

Love this place! I live in St Johns so it’s this place or Yo Mama in Scappoose. Worth the short little drive.

Finally a frozen yogurt shop on 23rd! I’ve been awaiting a frozen yogurt shop that is within a few miles of my house. Everything about this place is great. I love how late they are open and the fact that they serve espresso there as well. I see this being a great study spot. Also, I saw a couple bring in their dog the other night when I was there? I also kept seeing pictures of dogs on their picture screen. Does that mean dogs are allowed inside? I didn’t get around to asking, but that’s pretty cool if that’s the case. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars(and this is me being extremely nit-picky) is because the strawberries never seem to be sliced… then I got to thinking maybe they are frozen strawberries and that’s why they don’t slice them? It seems like when the strawberries aren’t sliced, it adds more weight to the yogurt and also it’s just not as enjoyable. Either way though, I will definitely be returning! Most likely tonight…

I’m curious to see how this place fares among a street full of ice cream options and coffee already. But I do like the original Twist, marketing wise they seem to know what they’re doing, and they listen to their customers. My first time I came here I was a little bummed they didn’t have any fun latte drinks(yes, I’m one of those people…). No big deal but presumably the owner asked what I would have wanted. Pumpkin duh! Next thing I know I see them with an a-frame board on the sidewalk advertising pumpkin lattes. Yay!
