An Ultimate Staffing Services recruiter called me. Instead of addressing the position I had applied for through Ultimate Staffing Services, she asked me questions about which jobs I had applied for and whether I was interviewing anywhere and how many offers I had received. After about 10 minutes of questioning, I didn’t see that she was going to discuss the position I had applied for through Ultimate Staffing or answer my questions about what opportunities were available through Ultimate Staffing. I had told her that I was interested in fundraising, recruiting, human resources, and executive assistant jobs, but I was open to additional suggestions. I brought that up again and asked her if Ultimate Staffing could provide any leads in those areas. She responded, «Well, that’s hard to say.» I asked her how long she had been working with Ultimate Staffing. Her response was that she had worked there for 5 years. I told her that if she had been there for 5 years, she could tell me, in general, what types of opportunities were available. She said that they typically didn’t have those types of jobs. I had already given her my salary goals and told her what salary range I would not accept, but she asked me again how much I wanted to earn. I asked her for her opinion as to what salary I would need in order to support myself in the Portland area as a single-​income household. She told me that she didn’t know because it would depend… At that point, I told her that I didn’t think I was getting the answers I needed to continue the conversation. She started chastising me and told me that I was not receptive to working with them. I reminded her of the list of areas I was interested in pursuing. She continued to berate me and tell me that I wasn’t receptive, and then hung up on me.

I’ve dealt with several staffing agencies, and Ultimate is by far my favorite. Compassionate people who take the time to know you and what you’re looking for. They always answer questions and never make you feel «dismissed» if you aren’t a good fit or interested in a position. They have a definite passion for people and success! Highly recommend

I have worked for Ultimate Staffing for about four months now, and compared to other staffing agencies I’ve worked with, they are far above other companies. The interview process is more of an actual interview, where the recruiter asks questions about your work history and preferences, rather than trying to shove you into a job that isn’t a good fit for you or the company (as I’ve noticed with other staffing agencies). They really take the time to get to know you and your concerns, and remember who you are when you call with questions or follow up. Overall it’s been a very pleasant experience working for Ultimate Staffing and I highly recommend them.
