Really good drinks and our server was very personable. Would totally go back if ever in the area.

First off I do t ever remember giving any place I have ever been to 5 stars. My wife and I went there to grab a quick drink before we went to the movies across the street. We were greeted when we walked in the door and then they made my old fashioned correct. It was fantastic they used the giant ice cube and an actual sugar cube which truly makes a difference. My wife ordered the cider on tap and we ordered the cheese plate. There was sheeps, goats and Brie cheese on the tray along with house made pickled veggies and fruit like sliced pears and grapes and toasted bagette. After the movie we had such a grt experience we went back and this time I ordered a Manhattan and the wife ordered a piece of pie. The pies are made next door at the bipartisan café. After we finished up we left and headed home. I realized later hat I didn’t pay for my drink and pie so I drove back down there to pay and they were very nice about and actually thanked me for being honest. While I was there now for the third time I started chatting more with cliff and tony. Those guys are a hoot and I loved to have the opportunity to talk with this evening without the feeling of when u gonna this beer

Oh, lovely. Just lovely. I’ve only had the pleasure of going twice – it was a little out of my way when I lived in SW Portland but had aspects of things I love: small, warm – is«intimate» an appropriate combination of the two? – large menu of fun cocktails, and friendly/knowledgeable/engaging bartenders. Kudos to the bartenders. I wish I got their names. I sat at the counter with my friend and, because it was a weeknight, had the leisure to chat about our drinks with him. My drinks were strong – I’m sure a lot of you might appreciate that. :) Great little bar to go to with a friend or two, or maybe a date.

Been twice. Dug it the first time, then hated it the second. Service was okay the first time, but nonexistent the second. So bad, actually, that I probably won’t go back. So I don’t drink cocktails… which means this wouldn’t really be my kind of place, right? Actually, I’ve been more than cool with their beer options, and one of the items on their smallish food menu is crave-worthy. The Brie, Bacon, Apple, Arugala sandwich is amazing, and only $ 9. I seriously went back a second time because I craved the sandwich. It’s a small, cozy, comfortable place to hang out. I like the vibe a lot. But the service. The service… The bartender was staying pretty busy pouring drinks, and the other guy was staying busy prepping food. We were able to order drinks after a long-ish wait, but didn’t have food picked out yet. Big mistake, as we didn’t get the chance to order food for quite a while later. Once we did order food, it took a long, long time. So we sat with empty drinks and waited… and waited. I don’t need things to be fast at a place like that, but we just felt ignored. Awesome sandwich or not, if it takes over an hour to get a beer and a sandwich, it might not be a great choice.

We walked in & only saw 1 empty table. It wasn’t clear if the table was unoccupied what with all the clutter of menus, crayons & paper so I asked if we could sit there. The bartender who had ignored us when we walked in was like«it doesn’t look like anyone’s sitting there to me unless they’re invisible.» Well, thanks for making us feel super welcome to your bar. We ordered. Wait time was fine for our first round but we had to work to get the server’s attention to order food. He seemed more interested in flirting with the girls at the bar. We waited so long to order a second round I had to order at the bar. My cocktails were great but instead of a sophisticated cocktail lounge this is a neighborhood joint where the locals hang. The creepy guy at the table next to us sat & stared at me for an extended amount of time. Maybe they don’t like brown chicks here. Not really sure but I def won’t be back. My friend ordered the falafel. I thought with Ya Hala down the street they’d have to be amazing to compete. My friend is a falafel expert. She was convinced these were Trader’s Joe’s. I give up on this place.

Cutest and warmest little cocktail lounge I ever did see. In LA, they like to have these types of lounges hidden, underground, whatever. Here, Vintage sits on the edge of the street, for all to see and hopefully grab a drink at. While visiting PDX, we ended our night here and couldn’t have been more pleased. We ordered a few small bites, including olives and I believe a pretzel? Their cocktail menu is larger than life, and the bartenders are helpful when you have no idea what to order. I’d suggest this bar to all. Whether your visiting PDX, or live in the area, definitely stop by Vintage for night cap. Cheers!

Both times I’ve been here the service was right on. Cliff helped us out the last time. In my experience the waiters make an effort to find out what you’re in the mood for and they offer suggestions. Keep in mind that they know way more about alcohol than you do. They also seem to want to make everyone’s visit a memorable occasion, not just a drunk-fest. I respect that. So if you don’t want to get schooled on your booze then please go drink at Applebee’s or something. Vintage Cocktail is a classy bar and they’re passionate about what they do: making perfect drinks and growing awesome beards. Their food isn’t bad either. If you can’t have a good time here, you have a problem.

This is by far the most casual and friendly bar I’ve been to. Very creative drink menu and if you have a liquor favorite, they’ll create your special cocktail to perfection. This is a must visit when on Portland.

OK… this place I get a mixed feeling about because I feel like it started off semi OK but I felt like a freak in the wrong bar. I gave this place two tries. Once with my fancy craft cocktail making friend and once with my guy. Both times, the owner tossed over attitude. I have never had a bartender or owner or anything call me «finicky» at least not to my face… but he had no problem with that. Not ONCE did I send a drink back. I order stuff and tried it and if I didn’t like it, someone else drank it. NOBIGDEAL I would think… but apparently it was enough to get me name called. Oh well… it is hella far from my house anyways and The Observatory is right down the street, I will just continue to take my business there when I am in Montavilla.

Loved this place. Beautiful, warm, and inviting atmosphere. Plus the music is always great! I ordered a lavender martini and it tasted like floral heaven. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a classic cocktail with a Portland twist!

Really? We find this place right before we’re about to move back to Seattle? WHY… WHYYYY? If you love a craft cocktail, and all y’all know I do, then you better head over to this place and get yourself one… vieux carre! Old Pal! Boulevardier! Sazerac! Blood and Sand! ALLTHECOCKTAILS! It was like being in a prohibition style cocktail bar and it made me so so so happy! Food wise we only had time to try the pretzel, but MANALIVE, it was so worth it — that beer cheese sauce was the bomb! I wanna go back. And bring my friends. And indulge in another delicious cocktail. You should come too!

Listen, I’m still buzzed from this place. That’s good, cuz I tend to be completely honest when that’s the case. I like this place. I’ve been here 5 times now. Friendly staff, good snack-type food, 2 small outdoor tables. I like to order the Lavender Cosmo, it’s my favorite. Street parking and bike parking out front. It’s good, I recommend.

This is my favorite cocktail bar in the city. Luckily for me it’s right around the corner from my place, but it’s definitely worth the trek to make it over to this place sometime. Firstly, the cocktails are simply wonderful. Delicious! Interesting and original! The staff is awesome! They are all so knowledgble, without being pretentious! I mean I get nervous trying to discuss the menu at other cocktail lounges, as I am not well versed in my spirits… It’s so nice to have a place where I can try different things, and ask questions without feeling like I’m annoying someone. Try it, it’s awesome.

I’ve been a fan of this place since they first opened and have the honor of being the most long-lasting customer. A perk of walking in an open door just as they opened. Vintage from the start has been committed to «Cocktails done right» and has definitely matured over the years to provide a warm, casual, and fun atmosphere with a sophisticated pallet. Highly recommended and maybe I’ll see you there! Or message me, let’s go!

For a Friday night, service seemed fast to me(as compared to other reviewers’ descriptions, anyway). We arrived around 9:45pm and managed a parking space on the block and an empty table just across from the bar.(Maybe this was just fate smiling on me since it was my first night out without my six month old in quite a long while…) The overly-gregarious, oddball middle aged couple sitting next to us invited a loner from another nearby table to join them, and we got the entertainment of overhearing bragging stories about their daughter working as a Playboy Bunny in Chicago. Who needs dinner and a movie? The server was friendly and on it. The bartender had his art down to a science. The fernet hit the spot.
