Whole Body Health Physical Therapy

The physical therapists here are very dedicated and educated. I had severe low back pain at the start of the year and my activities became severely limited. This went on for months with little improvement despite everything I tried. After I began seeing Justine I quickly felt hopeful that we were working towards the real problem. She worked with me to ensure I was doing exercises correctly and I never felt that I had to work harder than I was comfortable with. Now I am back to running, hiking, and sitting without feeling pain from it. I highly recommend this office for anyone who wants to get out of pain.

Iv’e got a shoulder impingement (recent mountain bike endo), stiff neck & torn ACL (injuries from decades past)! I am working with Bryan – lots of «creds» (PT, DPT, CSCS, MHA) behind his name with a masters and doctorate in musculoskeletal health and physical conditioning. He loves teaching and coaching! But can he help mend a body with years and miles of thrills and spills banging and bouncing off rocks, dirt and pavement? And way-​long-​ago injuries playing indoor and outdoor sports.
Iv’e been in PT a month now with Bryan and progressing well. I like how Bryan analyzed my injuries and showed me a 3-​D color anatomy model or what is causing my pain on his computer. Then, he devised conditioning routines I do at 24 HR Fitness. Also, he emailed a description with pictures of each exercise – very helpful when working out on you own.
And it is impressive Bryan continues his education, currently pursuing dry needling (allowed in 34 states) but not yet approved in Oregon. He is getting ahead of the curve.
Working on my shoulder impingement, Bryan drug a dull instrument (looks like a big butter knife) over my shoulders to break up «knotty» connective tissue. He manipulated and stretched my neck. My shoulder was so loose and fired up when I left this session, I could take an ake and chop down a giant redwood tree – of course, a tree hugger like me would never hack a redwood! My neck and shoulders have not felt that «loosey-​gossey» in 5 years.
I really love the treatment here – casual and professional. Most of all I’m feeling better. Getting stronger! And knowing when I’m working out on my own I’m working on the right things, the right way! And I can email, text or call anytime with questions. There is more hope for recovery – especially, if you have a competent MR. PT
Proactive Zoe at front desk has a patient caring spirit too and really helped round up authorization’s through my insurance company.

Location is awesome and the most convenient physical therapy location that I found as I live & work in North Portland. Parking is in a garage and free and always available. The office layout is perfect for Justine & Bryan to each have a client and work on patience.
I’ve been working with Brian for over 6 months now and it’s been nothing but improvement in my physical condition. I don’t think my back will ever be injury/​spasm free, but going to see him weekly has improved my back’s ability to withstand further injury and the best thing is that I always feel better leaving a physical therapy session.
Bryan is a master of his trade and understands a patient’s concern. Highly, highly recommended. Justine too! Whole Body Health accepts Tricare and that too is a major plus.
Oh one more thing! I did go to OHSU physical therapy before I went to Whole Body Health. OHSU’s physical therapy was a waste of my time. Didn’t feel like I got any better. I felt like I was on a conveyer belt of patients… All they had me do was stretch and do some exercises. Bryan really works with you… He would do soft-​tissue massage & would have me concentrate on appropriate stretches & exercises, even improvise to target the area of concern. NOT just give me the stretches that the BOOK says to do… You the man Bryan! Going to miss you. I wish you’d move to the Bay Area!

I injured my leg while riding my bike. After I finally got tired of hobbling around on it, I ended up at Whole Body Health PT. Bryan listened to me while I described the pain I was experiencing and conducted some tests to confirm this and that. I am now working my way through the custom plan he devised and I am feeling quite a bit better. To be honest, PT is tough. You get what you put into it, but these guys are great. Justine even looked at my bike setup and made some suggestions to improve my ergonomics. If you need help, I would highly recommend you go see them.

Bryan and his team are the type of Physical Therapists who don’t just give you a huge list of stretches each time you come in. They actually massage you and take the time to listen to you within each visit. The big problem with most PT places is that they just hand you off to their PT assistant who’s training is very limited to what an actual PT training is. So if you are looking to fully recover from an injury this is the place I would send someone I really care about. I will be telling all of my friends with injuries old and new to check this physical therapy center.
