Not enough parking for cars. Huge half empty parking for cars with trailers. If you park in car with trailer side shithead officer will write you citation for $ 80. It’s not clearly marked where you can park or not.

We love this site for putting our boat in the water. Reasonable parking, boaters are patient and polite, easy access. We have been coming here for several summers. Yesterday we arrived about 1230; and to our dismay the restrooms were «closed for the season». One of the nice things about this park was the restrooms were reasonably clean and well maintained. There were 4 port a potties, they were disgustingly overfilled, filthy, no paper, no soap, truly 3rd world nastiness. At the time of arrival, there were several soccer teams playing, and many boaters.
Every person that had to use the port a pots came out upset. Such a nice park and place to come, surely, there must be some more hygienic upkeep. Please reopen the restrooms! This situation makes me not want to come back.

This is a large city park on the Willamette River south of downtown Portland.
Pros: tennis courts, athletic fields, playground, river path, boat launch.
Cons: goose poop everywhere, offleash area not fenced and right next to main entrance road, goose poop everywhere, fee to park, GOOSE POOP EVERYWHERE.
We live a few blocks away and I wish I could say we visit this park more, but due to the poor offleash setup and the avian fecal predicament, we tend to visit other parks over this one.

Our beloved neighborhood park. Always a pleasant stroll. The designated off leash and unfenced dog park is in a terrible and dangerous spot — right next to the main park road where people are always speeding. It’s in such a joke location that I see at least half the dogs off leash throughout the rest of the park, which I do not mind. Biggest complaint is the goose poop. Hopefully the construction of the new water pump facility will scare them off for the summer. Construction isn’t set to be complete until August 2016, FYI.

This is a very small «beach» on the Willamette River. It’s cute, easy to access and has a big parking lot. There are a lot of boaters, jet skiiers, kayakers, and people walking around the park, and it can get busy on sunny days. There’s a fee to park.

I LOVE THIS PARK!
I’d list the reasons, but then the hipsters will come and that’s the last thing I want to see.
*FYI, Off dog leash area is that strip of land by the train tracks and everywhere else is leash required. I’ve already been ticketed twice by the douchebag park rangers who always seem to be wearing new uniforms and driving new electric cars… Portland Park Rangers should clean the public restrooms instead of dog patrol.

Took the dogs here to blow off some steam but it was hard to have fun with all the goose poop that is EVERYWHERE! It’s not the parks fault, but it is something to think about before coming here. Especially if you have small children.

A cute place for a picnic in the park… assuming it’s not covered in Goose Poo. Puppy loves to run around off leash and play fetch, and there is plenty of room to do so. Tennis courts, picnic tables, and trails to run make this park enjoyable. Sit on a park bench by the water and take it all in!

Where does the park begin/​end? It seems to just meander on and on with no clear way to traverse it. The paved walkway is dominated by habitual joggers, kayak-​wheeling river goers, and strollers. The green way is COMPLETELY monopolized by geese poop and soccer. Dogs are off-​leash, and the in the «middle» of the park is an ENORMOUS parking lot for what I think may be the only west-​side public boat launch.
Water access outside of the launch leaves a lot to be desired.

On a Sunday morning, we decided to go and see what is the Willamette park all about. It was another gorgeous day in the city. When we entered the park, what startled us was that we have to pay so much to park in. So, we decided to park out in the street and walk in. We stayed pretty much close to the boat marina and found that there is a nice view of the city.

Brunswick Stew = squirrel braised with corn, lima beans, pimientos, and okra
If someone wanted to cook Brunswick stew, perhaps for a Sunday dinner with loved ones, Willamette Park would be a smart place to start your shopping. The squirrels here have conveniently shed their intrinsic fear of bigger creatures and all but climb into your purse if you offer to feed them. Plus, you can sew their tails together to shield yourself from the chill off the river on a cool day. Once you’re pleasantly stuffed full of stew, you can work off the food coma by biking, jogging, or tossing a Frisbee around the many acres.
There are also several geese. In fact, for every single picnic bench in the park, there are five mushy goose eggs somewhere on the grass. But you cannot substitute goose for squirrel in Brunswick stew. Rachael Ray may do it, but she’s crazy.
