Closed. Now a place called charmed. Definitely no oddities here.

& oddities there are. This place is eclectic. There are lots of random local crafts, things with dia de los muertos skeletons, records, and vintage clothes. It’s always fun to browse though and the prices are reasonable unlike some of the other thrift stores along this block. The owner seemed bored, but really happy when the bf bought a record. «Not many people coming around to buy Humble Pie records these days,» he said. It was one of those restore-faith-in-today’s-youth kind of moments.

i think the name of the store fits its merchandise. They have things there that range from vintage records, to bug keychains, dia de los muertos figurines, pictures of jesus and and old vintage clothing. It is not a big store and it does not have a lot of merchandise, but the stuff they have there is fun to look at and is affordable. Quirky, interesting, and affordable.

I’ll let you in on a little secret: The Dress. That gold one. The one that I pranced around in last Friday. The one that nearly had me drowning in compliments all evening(trust me, I had been heavy lifting all day… lordy knows it definitely wasn’t the hair or make-up)… I found it here. Well, actually, my personal vintage shopping hound found it here. She wouldn’t let me leave without buying it. She made me put down the mask, drop the masquerade party idea, avert my eyes from the terrifying stuffed crows, and try it on. It was perfect. Oh, and it was $ 35. That’s like… umm, 5 cents a compliment, and hell… I’ll take all 700 of ‘em!

Ahhhh yeayaaahhh! First to review! What a great little find this store was! Filled with old collectible records, vintage goodies and those fantastic velvet Elvis and Jesus paintings with all kinds of wrong art on them! What’s not to love! During our visit here, we were able to find a few adorable and mint condition vintage dresses on the super cheap and I even scored a little crème de la crème cream beaded 50’s handbag for only $ 18. It is pristine! The guy that owns the joint is a real swell fella as well and with the exception of all the random birds* in this store, I really loved it. *Sorry, but stuffed birds and birds in general are just plain creepy and they carry siphilitus germs, errr, something.
