I am Turkish and I would say they make the best Turkish meatballs in the US. Very authentic and delicious!

Been frequenting this cart primarily for the delicious falafel wrap, but wow, some new additions are on the menu. If the new BBQ chicken wrap is any indication, the adds are on par with the established items. This is EXCELLENT news! The chicken wrap is sublime and am looking forward to trying the meatball offering and/or the meatball wrap with cheese! Fabulous food at a great price. Gotta try it!

Such good food. The gyros(they call them a different name here but I can’t remember it right now) are amazing-they put a ton of meat in & all the veggies are really fresh. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. This is definitely my new favorite food place and By FAR the best food cart in this area! Very delicious :-)

I would hit the Turkish Kitchen And hardly starve to death Cauldron bubble, toil and trouble Like the witches of Macbeth You don’t know how far I’d go To ease this belly ache You don’t know how much I’d nom Or how much I can’t wait Just to eat you, just to eat you Oh to eat you Come to try Zindo’s Order outside, Unilocal by the light of the moon Come to try Zindo’s I’ll be home soon I don’t care what they ate I don’t care what they rate What do they know about wooded caravans anyway? Come to buy Zindo’s Börek on the side, Döner inspires a tune Come to buy Zindo’s Take some home soon Trust M.E.

Let me preface this by saying I am Turkish and have had my share of Döner(Gyro) both in the motherland and in the U.S. I’ve been living in the U. S for over 20 years and this was the best döner meat I’ve had away from home in both quality and taste. I recommend the döner in sandwich form inside pita bread which comes with a delicious cucumber sauce as well as lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. Even the rice that came with my sister’s meal reminded me of home, which is hard to explain, but perhaps due to the butter used. The tasty Turkish coffee at the end of our meal helped settle all the food in our stomachs and came with sugar, which I prefer. The chef and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. I am here in Portland on vacation for a short time and only wish I could get a chance to try the other traditional dishes, like Börek(filo dough pastry filled with spinach and cheese), Nohut(chickpeas), or eggplant with rice.

Zindo’s Turkish Kitchen is a recent addition to the food trucks on 102nd& Stark. There’s a modest amount of parking with the trucks, but there’s lots of parking on the streets and the nearby Bank of America. Noticeably, some may not enjoy eating amongst the moderate loudness of the cars going around Mall 205, but it should be okay for most. When I chose Zindo’s, I chose between a couple of Mexican, Thai, Filipino, a Russian and an Ethiopian trucks. It was a hot day so with the creaminess of doner and gyros, I opted for Zindo’s not wanting it to be too spicy. When I walked up, I saw the prices and boy was it inexpensive. Most of the dishes seemed to range from $ 5 – 8 and the cans of soda are only $ 1. Zindo’s appeared to resort to the common tactic of a specific Middle Eastern cuisine, Turkish in this case, just serving the overall Middle Eastern food of gyros and nothing specifically Turkish. However, they have the Turkish coffee, sauté and borek which makes them very authentic. I however, had a doner wrap. After about five minutes, it was ready. It came with a creamy sauce, probably tarator. The meat was very tender and made with authenticity, including the traditional orange-colored spices. For the meal, it was a little spicy, but not too spicy. The cucumbers at the bottom could have been better mixed in with the meat, but overall the flavor was there. In total, Zindo’s is inexpensive and is a big fish in a small pond of lowbrow fast food that dominates far east Portland. The overall taste was good and the flavor was wonderful. In the future, Zindo’s should spread the cucumbers and tomatoes more throughout the inside of the wrap. A little more depth to the assembly of the product would go a long way in the taste and the great mix would be beneficial in distinguishing Zindo’s. But the portions were quite big, even with no side. Zindo’s isn’t mind-blowing, but it provides a sound performance of various factors. Zindo is a neutral place in terms of recommendations.
