Portola Valley Training Center

I kept my horses at PVTC for many years and I am sad to say that this place has deteriorated severely over the past few years. For the price of your first born child you get nasty footing that doesn’t get watered, sawdust shavings full of ticks, and inconsistent hay that left made my horses unwell every few months. They are constantly doing construction it’s noisy and dusty, the «turnouts» are pathetic and dangerous.
On top of that, the current «owner» is extremely unpleasant. I overheard him being verbally abusive to several employees (none of which were blonde haired and blue eyed). I also heard of several reports of him acting inappropriately towards female employees. The entire peninsula is double the price and half as nice as the rest of California. I strongly recommend relocating your horses elsewhere.

Beautiful and clean places for horses with indoor and outdoor arena. I used to take lessons with 2 barns in this center and I really enjoy the facility.

Top notch equestrian establishment. Immaculate grounds and a beautiful facility. It’s a great place in the sense that they have a little bit of everything. From beginning lessons to advanced. Dressage to Western. The only downfall is during raining season the indoor ring is crammed with people. It’s almost to the point where I just avoid riding all together if it’s raining outside. However, I guess over-​crowding can be expected any where you go that has a covered arena.

Awesome Establishment. Kevin, the Owner/​Manager, is a very nice guy and really takes the time to show you the grounds. The Trainers on-​site seem to be some of the best in the business. All of the horses that are there seem to be very, very well cared for. I like the fact that the Trainers are schooling horses and clients of all ages. One very big added bonus is at they have a 24 hour vet on-​site (Peninsula Equine). They also have a lot of staffers that live on site. Both of these two factors will give any discriminating horse owner peace of mind. I look forward to leaving my horses there.
