Crescent Towing 2

This was truly one of the worst experiences I have had with a business! My wife and I hit ice about 35 miles north of Reno and our car rolled a couple of times. Thankfully her and I were perfectly fine, but my Xterra was very beat up. We called through Amex for a tow service and out comes Crescent Towing company. Kenny was the driver. He was pretty rude, but it was cold and a couple days before Thanksgiving so I figured I would give him the benefit of the doubt. He is looking at my car and says for him to tow it to Reno would cost over $ 600… I was like what! Reno is like 35 miles away. He says well you are paying for how long it will take me to get there and how long it will take me to get back to the shop and we charge $ 200 an hour. I’m like Holy Crap! Well what was I supposed to do, I was just in a bad accident. So I told him to just get the car on all 4 wheels so we could look at it. When he got it upright the car was in bad shape and looked drivable except one flat tire, so he changed out the tire. And I went to his car to settle up what I owed him. This is where it gets ugly. So he says it will be $ 600. I couldn’t believe it. I said are you kidding me. He said it took me an hour to get here an hour of work and an hour to get back. (It took him 20 minutes to get the job done) I said let me talk to your boss please (As rude as Kenny had been David, the boss, was worse). David very angrily said it was going to be $ 600 and there was nothing I could do about it. So I call Amex to see what they could do and they call David to see if he would break up the charges so they could cover some of it. He said he wouldn’t do that and Amex called me back. They apologized for the situation I was in, but said there wasn’t a lot they could do. In the amount of time it took for them to say that to me Kenny comes over and says David called him and he will take my car and impound it for not paying and that they were going to take me to court! I flipped! Luckily the cop who reported the accident was still there and let Kenny know that wasn’t going to happen. I was so mad I just paid the debt and drove my broken car into Reno! As you can imagine if I could leave a negative star on this report if i could.
