I never, ever write reviews. Rarely do I have an experience that makes me want to tell everyone about it. Sure I have had bad ones, like a lot of people who write reviews, but I think most people are more inclined to write a review for a bad experience. People need to know about 2 Brothers Garage. I have an old Z car that I purchased last year. I decided to try these guys after trying a garage down the street from them who didn’t seem to be interested in working on anything over 5 years old. Two Brothers has done a lot of work on this car. The past three times I have brought it in, not only have they come in at the estimate they gave me, but less. One time, $ 200 less. They are the most honest shop I have ever come by in any state I have ever lived, and I have had almost 100 cars. They have always found and fixed the problem, and found parts, despite it being a 27 year old car. I will continue to use them for this car as well as my newer car once it starts needing repairs. Best shop in the area and beyond, hands down.

2 brothers is by far the best place to go in the Portsmouth area! They are skilled at what they do, take the time to talk to you about options, and have the best customer service. It’s a family business– everyone is so nice & extremely helpful. I highly recommend going here.

This place is the most reliable, honest and skilled body shop around. They have worked tirelessly on my shitbox of a car and never overcharge. Today I needed transmission fluid and cliff dropped everything he was doing to refill it. I won’t go anywhere else around here!

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. It’s family run and everyone is very friendly and personable. I’ve been going to them for a few years, mainly for my annual inspections, and they have given me impeccable service every time. I’m always a little leery going to a mechanic by myself because I feel like as a female and not being very knowledgable about cars I’m an easy target to sell unnecessary services to, but I never feel like I am being taken advantage of. They also take the time to explain to me exactly what they’re doing so that I understand and I’m informed about what services they’re providing. My boyfriend has taken my vehicle in for me as well and agrees that these guys are honest and on top of that they provide great service. I recently needed some major repairs/​maintenance on my car and they gave me a fair price and I haven’t had any issues with the repairs they did. I HIGHLY recommend them!

These guys are great! As a female with little mechanical knowledge, it can be difficult to find a garage you can trust. These guys were always honest with me. They never tried to pressure me into more expensive fixes, worked within my budget, yet made sure I was driving a safe vehicle. I recently moved away from the area & will miss them!!!

If you need friendly, honest service in Portsmouth, this is where you should go. These guys are wonderful. They don’t try to fleece you, they are so friendly, professional and fast! I hate to say it, but as a woman I know that the whole «car mechanic takes advantage» is a real thing… and I’m so glad that I found this establishment.
They have a big sign up that talks about SERVICE… and that without it, you can’t make a profit or have customers. And they walk it like they talk it.
And bonus! They are in a convenient location where you can grab a bite or a cup of coffee across the street, go to Rite Aid, a market, etc.
I highly recommend 2 Brothers Garage on Islington. They will take excellent care of you and your car. A+
