They have everything in this store. First time visiting. Loved their selection. Going back today to get one more item before going back home.

Great products for a decent price. I always find something new and unique when I go in. I do wish they offered bedroom and patio furniture too though.

Great selections of so many home decorative items. Prices are great for a low budget. Twice, I have needed a unique item that I couldn’t find anywhere. Then, I remember this place and it fills that void. I’m not local to this place, which is why I didn’t think of here first. I will from now on, though. Twice, they’ve saved my frustration looking for that perfect fit in my home.

price is not bargain, but pretty reasonable considering the quality of the furniture here.
they had bohemian, modern, etc. many of their rugs and curtains seemed to have been imported from India. Many room dividers were also bamboo themed. their eclectic collection definitely had me hooked, and i came back home with a rug and a bed sheet that i didn’t intend to buy. regardless, i’m very happy with the purchase.
the staff here are very energetic, and eager to help you. my overall experience here was very satisfying. i’ll definitely be back!

Not only do they have a wonderful collection of furniture and home furnishings at great prices, but they are professional, full of integrity and so very helpful. I stopped in a week ago looking for a large rug and found one I loved. However it was a lot of money ($ 850). I knew I had a coupon at home so went home only I couldn’t find it. I sent an email to Andrea and she quickly replied that she had one at the front desk I could use! Terrific! I went the folowing day and got the rug and saved a 20% to boot! Thanks Abode. It is a great home furnishing store with lots of neat and unique items. Staff super helpful

Abode is my east coast answer to Cost Plus World Market, one of my favorite places to just browse around and play games like «okay, you can spend $ 10, what will you buy?» One day it may be dish towels, the next a rug on clearance, or maybe some office supplies, or a little bag…
We’re also eyeing a dining room table that’s pretty inexpensive… for those familiar with Cost Plus (aka a hipper version of Pier One), check it out.

Okay, imagine this. You’re a «home furnishings» store. You sell little pieces of furniture (chairs, nightstands, kitchen/​bath stuff, etc.) and you’re right next to Ethan Allen. How do they you survive? Easy. Be a lot like Pier 1 Imports, but maybe bigger. If there’s something you wanted to buy at Pier 1 and you’re in Portsmouth, this is the store for you. If you want a $ 4500 couch, go to Ethan Allen. If you bought the couch and you’re wondering what to do with the change from that $ 5000 bill, step in. We were looking for a headboard for a new bed, but they don’t do headboards at Abode. What they did, we weren’t looking for. But it was fun to look around.
Oddly, while I’m typing this, Unilocal is asking me if I’m thinking of Pier 1 Imports at the same address and a few clicks on the Abode web site tells me that this store was a Pier 1 in the early 80’s. And Andrea Q. just wrote to say that this was a Pier 1 just two years ago. Okay, now I understand why it feels this way inside. Anyway, drop in if you’re looking for a Pier 1 kind of store.
