Coffee At the Lofts

First rate coffee and atmosphere. Stop in and allow some time to sit and enjoy the experience. I always stop here when I am in town. A coffee shop on par or above anything you will find in any city regardless of size.

I stop here all the time when I’m traveling for work. Great little hipster spot. I’ve only had their coffee-​pour overs and lattes which were equally great. The atmosphere is really well done too.

Terry has opened a fine place with excellent quality foods and coffees. The coffee had a great, smooth taste. Service was friendly and pretty quick. If I lived in Portsmouth I’d be there a lot. If you haven’t already, try it out. There are also single serve oatmeal, various coffees, & chocolate coffee beans to purchase for at home enjoyment. Loft style décor assimilates well with the living space next door. Nice outdoor patio if weather permits.

The true test of a coffee shop for me is a machiatto and a cortado. Both highlight the flavor of the espresso but still require good milk steaming technique. A cortado is not on the menu but the barista was still able to make me one. Both were excellent. There is an obvious dedication to pulling great espresso. Best espresso I’ve had in southern Ohio outside Cincinnati. Keep up the incredible work.

Superb coffee, service and atmosphere/​décor. They also serve a fine selection of bourbon and craft brews.

By no means am I some coffee aficionado BUT over the last months i’d been traveling for work and pleasure and been able to see some fun coffee shops and this shop fits perfectly with those. This spot isn’t cluttered with an abundance of added features nor does it scream ‘WE NEED TO SELL ALL THE THINGS’ and does a fine and fantastic job at making damn good coffee (French Press especially) and provides an environment that is above and beyond. A couple fireplaces give a warm feeling (figuratively and literally), a lounge area (2) with couch and comfy chairs, a larger table that houses 6 – 8 for gaming or for computers, as well as multiple tables, and a side bar for outside viewing.
The patio outdoors is great looking as well (although cold currently so I can’t say with confidence how it is haha). The design is beautiful inside and easy on the eyes.

I highly recommend stopping in here. The coffee shops i’ve seen in Nashville, Park City, Columbus, and some other cities are great but this is one of my favorite places for Coffee, reading, relaxing, enjoying my time.

This shop really is an awesome place. The workers are all super friendly, everything I’ve got tastes great, the atmosphere is so neat! I love coming here to hangout and get work done. One thing that is unique about this shop is the environmental-​friendly cups, which is something more places need to work on! Coffee at the Lofts is definitely a great shop for any area, especially Portsmouth!

I am absolutely blown away by this place. Such a great atmosphere that I didn’t expect to find visiting my home town. There is great patio seating slightly raised off of the street level. Plenty of tables inside with several leather couches and chairs as well. The staff is friendly, the music is fitting, the place is very clean, and the cold brew coffee is amazing. I am so thankful for this place to be in Portsmouth and I look forward to visiting frequently when in town. Great industrial garage doors that are opened on warmer days. If you love coffee or just want a nice place for a glass of wine or a beer, you have to check this place out.

Absolutely what Portsmouth, Ohio needs! A real coffee espresso bar. This place knows how to make excellent lattes and espresso and values the art of coffee. It’s obvious the owner has looked into city type coffee shops and brought that idea to Portsmouth. The atmosphere is excellent as is the location (right behind Shawnee State University). I see a lot of students, faculty, and staff going here. Most people are used to the corporate giant, Starbucks, so Coffee at The Lofts offers an excellent place to get a real latte!
