Food was amazing and service was great. Went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Chips and salsa put in front of us right as we sat down. Salsa was best I’ve had in Hampton Roads so far. We eat a lot of Mexican food.

I love this place! The food is authentic Mexican and so tasty. The ambiance is relaxed and such a friendly atmosphere. I was treated like an old time visitor and that was my first time there! Super friendly service and nicest bartender I’ve come across in a while… customized drinks and a free tequila shot. Can beat that personal treatment! They even played my favorite music on request! I can’t say enough about this place the food was really great but what got me hooked was how friendly these guys are. Thank you guys… I will definitely see you again ;).

Guads served up the best guacamole ever. We ordered the pescado and camarone tacos… FABULOUS!!! The beer was ice cold and contrary to a previous reviews, the bathrooms were very clean and well appointed. There is also a parking lot so street parking is unnecessary.

I hope this place goes out of business. They overcharge for weak drinks, 8.00 for a crown royal. One block away the same drink is 6.50. They sneak a to go charge on you, .50 cents per item. Put simply they are cheap and and dirty. The place is a dump and the restroom looks like a crackhouse bathroom. The food is ok but one block away is another Mexican restaurant with better food. This owner screws his few loyal customers over so bye bye Guads !!! If you need a place where no one goes to you should visit Guads.

Growing up in San Diego, Ca I ate real Mexican food at least three meals per week. After moving to Va I’ve been having withdrawal. So far guads is the best I’ve found out here. Their camarones al mojo de ajo is wonderful and their shrimp soup reminds me of when I was a kid. It comes out of the kitchen Mordor hot but once cooled it’s delicious. The tortilla chips are made fresh and are free. Another Plus, their portions are enormous so I get a meal and a half out of a visit.

This is pretty tasty Mexican food. And authentic. They serve the tamales in corn husks, which is a first for me; so I know it’s real. The chips and salsa are super fresh. The white sauce, however, is a little bizarre and looks like hummus. That’s a no-go. I do recommend Guad’s, but don’t have expectations of a certain Guadalajara standard. This is its own version of excellence.

Great drinks! Had beef nachos to snack on while drinking! Not that many people, sit at bar and enjoyed it!

I was completely surprised when I read the reviews Guad’s currently has. Let me set the record straight about this place. I’m obsessed. I live in Virginia Beach and I literally drive 40 mins and pay a toll just to eat here. Everything I’ve had at this place is fantastic — and it’s all new and interesting flavors that I haven’t encountered before at the run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants I used to go to. The food is simply mind-blowing deliciousness. On my most recent trip here, I ordered a pork dish that came with an avocado and mango salad on the side. The presentation was fantastic and the meal was amazing. The salad had this magical mango dressing that made my salad completely enjoyable and taste delicious. When I asked my waiter if I could buy some dressing to take home with me(I loved it THAT much) he gave me some for completely FREE. I’m in Mexican heaven at this place. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I really enjoyed this place… Especially the fresh guac. Eaten here several times and the service and food has always been great. We’ve had the burritos, ceviche and chicken quesadillas. All delicious.

Food is horrible! They charge extra for to go orders which isn’t disclosed, you see it on the bill. Really bc it probably costs just as much to wash a bunch of dirty dishes as it does to buy some aluminum to go trays. The chicken enchiladas are just plain with dry chicken and taste like they were made days ago. The beans were awful but the rice and chips were good. So if you like rice and chips/salsa, this is your place!
