I watched one of the Cooks leave the men’s room without washing his hands just to return to the line and continue handling the customers food and without gloves. I also noticed soup bowls on a shelf about 8 inches off the floor. I couldn’t help but picture all kind of floor dust in them. I won’t be going there again.

Went for breakfast. Got the sausage gravy over biscuits with a side of hash and it wasn’t that special.

Been going to Hebert’s since I was a child, I even remember the old location haha! I usually stop in in the weekends to eat lunch or dinner and occasionally brunch, but always sit in the bar. Something interesting is always on TV: animal planet, random movies, football, etc. Always a laid back atmosphere with friendly bartenders. Consistently great food for a price.

I had dinner here and it was terrible! I’m pretty sure the seafood chowder was from a can, the entrée was terrible but expensive. No flavor and didn’t even look appealing! Won’t make this mistake again…

I really wanted to like this place, we’re always looking for good breakfast options. Unfortunately it seems the owners are so well off that they don’t need your business. Went in there this afternoon(5÷31÷151:15pm) and stood next to the«Please wait to be seated» sign for 10 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone. The staff did see us there, but didn’t offer so much as a «Be with you in a sec». Maybe the owners weren’t there, in which case I feel bad for them, because their staff could care less about the business they work for. The whole experience left a really bad impression and I won’t be going back.

We love Heberts for their breakfast. The service is also great and the food is classic and reliable. Try the homemade corn beef hash or the waffle works!

Amazing food, huge portions, excellent prices. Never had a bad meal here. Tuesday is Turkey Tuesday, fresh Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Butternut Squash, Stuffing, Cranberry sauce, Rolls & Butter all for less than 9 bucks. Always bring home leftovers. Great desserts. And they have a full bar. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome

I think the overly critical reviews from pompus people are funny. I’ve been coming to Herbert’s since it was located elsewhere. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences and great food. The staff has their off days… the reality of this fact is what makes this place more comfortable and homely. Unlike the others who have written before me… I don’t walk into a restaurant in a shopping plaza and expect five star food for two star prices. I’d give them three stars. Thank you for reading.

I was only here for breakfast and it was average. Nothing jumped out at me to bring me back. I would recommend the Golden Egg or Café Expresso if you are in town.

Met some friends for lunch today at Hebert’s — was very pleasantly surprised and thrilled with the 50s retro décor and small town diner ambience. We sat down at a cool dinette set in the back room and were greeted by a friendly and efficient waitress and hellos from customers at the counter. Ruby and I ordered burgers and fries and Gina asked for a tuna melt. The coffees came out quickly and the food was served quickly after that, hot and tasty and with a smile. The burgers were juicy, and perfectly cooked. The tuna melt looked awesome! And the French fries were hot and crispy. We lingered over our meals for 2 hours — 3 friends trying to catch up after 25 years — and never felt rushed at all. If you’re in the mood for a casual and yummy home cooked meal with a flashback to the fifties ambience, you’ll have to try Heberts! The prices are great too and the portions are large. I’ll be back! :)

One of the best breakfast places in town. The homemade hash can’t be beat. Service in the mornings is great and everyone is super friendly. At night the bar is a great spot to meet up with friends for a casual drink. Scott the bartender makes great drinks. They also have karaōke which is always interesting

Needing lunch on a Sunday afternoon, far from home, we found Hebert’s Pub. This place was good, but not great. The Good: Nice and quiet, good variety of choices, and the prices were cheap. I had a burger on sourdough with mushrooms, my gf had a chicken, bacon and swiss on sourdough. The burger was really good. She seemed to enjoy hers too. A table near ours ordered wings, and they smelled fantastic. Kinda wished I’d ordered some. The Bad: Even though it was fairly quiet, just a few older couples there before us, the food took a really long time. My bread was barely toasted, hers was burnt around the edges. The service was very friendly, and got the orders right, but was really slow too. When the waitress came back to ask how the food was, we were pretty much finished. Took another 15 minutes to see the check, and we had to flag her down to get it. This place has a lot of potential, and is pretty good. Normally, they would have gotten 4 stars, but inconsistent toasting and serving burnt bread cost them a star. 3 Stars.

I have been here many times in the past few years. The slow waitstaff from those times kept me away. My mother in law is a big fan of the food and employees here so I decided to give it another try. We went here on a busy Sunday morning. I had eggs Benedict that was fresh and tasty. The home fries were well cooked and savory with onions in them. My mother in law had her favorite french toast that she said was cooked perfectly. The eggs here are large and fresh. Our waitstaff and hostess were all very professional and fast. So I give Heberts 4 stars for their change in staffing and training. The food here is very good and affordable. No pretensions but a true family business. Now I would give 5 stars if their coffee choice was a bit higher quality such as Green Mountain, or Paul Newman organic…

This is like 3 restaurants in one but with all the same menu. There is a dining room when you walk in that I think is the nicest part and it is where I like to sit. In the far back is a diner concept with checkerboard floors a counter with stools and metal signs on the walls. Totally different concept than the front dining room but the same menu. The kitchen is open behind the counter so if you like open kitchens this is a good place to sit. Then there is a bar that looks like another building inside the building where you sit if you want to drink. Again, different feel and different concept than the other two parts of the restaurant. Service is up and down but usually ok. I dont like how the server doesnt even stop at my table to see if i need anything. Just a «you okay?» in passing. I got a waffle this time which was delicious and bacon and homefries on the side. Side of bacon has 5 pieces which is a pretty generous side. Homefries have onions in them as a warning to those who don’t like onions. The food came out quickly which is good because I was starved! Total bill came ti a very reasonable 14 $ and change. All in all a good place for breakfast. If service was a little more personable this place would earn another star.

We went back yesterday & two of the four meals had problems. It may have been three of four because my wife didn’t want to take her remaining jumbo shrimp, but she didn’t say. I wish Hebert’s was better than it is in so many ways. I wish the food was consistently good. I wish that the servers were quicker(and had the personality of the Hebert’s guys on Badger’s Island). I wish the disco ball and speakers weren’t the most prominent part of the décor. You could get a decent meal here for a reasonable price, but you’ll have to be patient. Or you could be disappointed in the food and you’ll still have to be patient.

For those that want a brief one sentence quick and dirty review, service was very slow and not good, the appetizers were something that was bought at BJ’s, but the meals were really good for the price. If I went back I would skip the apps and just get meals. I went to Hebert’s early Saturday night for take-out. I got there at 5pm and sat down at the bar. There was one lady in the bar who was obviously friends with the bartender as he stood in front of her the whole time and ate a caesar salad and talked. I sat for several minutes and had to ask for a menu. Once I decided I once again had to call him over after closing my menu and making eye contact several times. I had the hot wings for an app which were average wings. Pretty much a quality you would get from any pizza place or delivery. I also got the chicken quesadilla roll-ups. These were obviously store bought and fried and tasted worse than many apps I have bought from BJ’s. The meals we ordered were outstanding and what drives the review up to 3 stars. I ordered the teriyaki chicken club with fries, and the Shasta which is a chicken, ham, bacon, swiss sandwich with onion rings. The onion rings were stellar. Definitely seemed homemade and cooked perfectly. Not too greasy. The fries were crisp and delicious. Both sandwiches were high quality typical restaurant quality sandwiches which were delicious. I will go back next time and skip the apps and just get meals.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place by accident when our favorite breakfast place(Betty’s) had a 45 minute wait. I’m glad we tried it! My husband ordered the Belgian waffle deluxe. For less than $ 7, he got a perfectly-cooked waffle, two scrambled eggs, and two pieces of perfectly-cooked bacon. I got the eggs benny. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the English muffin was topped with delicious, thick, generously-sliced pieces of ham. But I’m pretty picky about my Hollandaise sauce, and this one didn’t taste home-made. It came with home fries, which were a little on the under-cooked side. Next time, I’ll ask for them well-done. My meal was also under $ 7. The coffee was awful. Even my husband, who isn’t a picky coffee drinker thought it tasted like dirty water. Service was great and the place was kid-friendly. I’ll definitely give it another try! Next time, I’ll sit in the back in the diner section!

Another strip plaza gem! Located in the Market Basket Plaza, Hebert’s Restaurant & Pub serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a casual family atmosphere. Hebert’s is really 3 places in 1 space. The front of the house is a casual dining room with booth seating, green plants, high ceilings, big speakers, disco ball, and framed art on the walls. The middle portion is a neighborhood bar/lounge with large TV, and the back portion is a 1950’s style diner with lots of retro and classic signs plastered on the walls. The breakfast menu offers typical items including eggs, omelettes, Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, and sides. The lunch menu offers apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood baskets, and the dinner menu(after 5PM only) offers steaks, chicken, pasta, seafood, and traditional comfort foods. Kidz Menu available for those 12 and under(small soda included). Daily specials are posted in the front. I stopped in here around 4PM hoping to grab an early dinner before I headed inland. I was told that it was lunch menu only and any specials posted. I sat in the front dining room, where it was really quiet and I can imagine how loud the place gets late nights. The closest things to dinner were posted on the specials board which were the meatloaf, spaghetti & meatballs, and the chicken and veal parmigiana over pasta specials. First, I started off with a cup of Seafood Chowder($ 3.95) was pretty good, did not pass the spoon test(not thick), but the broth was creamy with chunks of potato, fish, and baby shrimp. Next, the Chicken Parm Special($ 7.95) was served with garlic toast in very hot in a big bowl, a breaded chicken cutlet over al dente spaghetti with a sweet tomato sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and lots of sprinkled parmesan cheese. I enjoyed this dish, but I couldn’t finish the meal, so I got the rest to go. The service was quick probably since I was the only diner in the dining room. The pub/lounge area did have a few patrons. In and out in 30 minutes! KARAOKE: Tues, Thurs-Sun: 9PM-1AM HAPPYHOUR: Sun-Thurs(4PM-6PM): Half priced apps
