I have an extremely comfortable pair of dress boots that I wore so much that I ended up grinding down the heels. I brought them here and he was incredibly friendly and did an amazing job! Not only did he replace the eroded heels but he was able to rebuild part of the chunky heel that had been ground down. When I picked up my boots the heels looked better than new and the boots were all polished and ready for summer! I’ll definitely be going back when my shoes need some love!

We like this place a lot– the owner is very friendly and knowledgable. His prices are the same for shoe purchase as any other shoe store. We’ve not used him for show repair but I would recommend him to anyone.

This place is amazing! I only wish that it was closer. They do such a good job repairing any kind of shoes. Yes, it does cost more than places in Fall River or New Bedford… but it’s on Aquidneck Island, what do you expect? In any case, well worth the price.

Replaced small plastic heel with rubber heel on new woman shoes. Good job but very expensive. Twice as much as cost at Fall River or New Bedford shoe repair shops. $ 30 per pair vice $ 15.

As the owner of a very naughty puppy, finding a reputable and able shoe repair is a must. I’ve tried all the others out there, and felt like they repaired shoes as a minor off-​shoot of another business. Then I found Irving’s on Unilocal… and true to the other reviews on this site, he’s prompt, his work is exquisite, and priced fairly. He’s also a sweetheart of a guy. I highly recommend Irving’s

I have brought a number of shoes to this gentleman to do a variety of things to various shoes — stretch them, add a few extra holes in the straps, etc. and he has always done a marvelous job. Wouldn’t recommend anywhere else —

I went to them to get soles put on studio shoes. They did a terrific job and very quickly too! Price is really reasonable too! I would definitely come here again for any shoe repairs. Also the man is very nice. Overall this is a great place to go and I would highly recommend it.

This place single handedly rescued my favorite pair of black leather boots!
This was my first time getting a pair of shoes repaired by a shoe cobbler. My boots were falling apart, and I wasn’t ready to just throw them out just yet so I was on a mad search for someone to fix them up. The shoe cobbler there was so cheery and friendly and willing to help me out. He did an amazing job: replaced the heels, added a gripped rubber sole, and polished them up to be shiny!
No more slipping on the street for me! I will come back again and again to get my shoes fixed here. Support your local Island shoe cobbler, he is really worth it!

If you need to get your shoes repaired, here the place too go. After twenty plus years of putting up with poor service in Newport and Bristol, it is a relief to find a great cobbler. You drop off on Wednesday and the owner calls you a few days later and presto-​nicely done. Nice shoes there as well, though limited inventory.
