Nice place to walk. Even more beautiful at night with the lit up buildings.

Beautiful place to go for a walk in. Like I mentioned, I used to date a US sailor stationed in Portsmouth and this was right down the street from his apartment. We walked here all of the time. It is gorgeous. Beautiful scenery. Naval Museum is right there which was another great attraction for our cause. Very nicely lit up. Feel free to go fishing because alot of people do! Again, beautiful. Take a walk down there if you haven’t already!

ATMOSPHERE: The sidewalk by the back is pretty wide — width of about 3 sidewalks. Clean and appears to be new. Combination of sections of brick and cement. Lots of benches around to sit and view the water. At night the sidewalk is well lit with lamp posts every few feet. Lots people fishing or boating. ATTRACTIONS: Portsmouth Visitors Center. Couple hotels. Naval Museum. Intel Wireless Pavilion(concert and event venue). Dock for the ferry that heads over to Norfolk across the bay($ 1.50 each way). Many of the Olde Towne events are held by the dock. For example, 4th of July festivities including food vendors and concerts were held in the park area by the dock. Walking/running sidewalk is very scenic. Nice scenery of Towne Point Park and all the bright building of downtown Norfolk at night. The terrain is smooth enough to rollerblade on. Not a very long sidewalk though. LIMITATIONS: Some signs up saying no bikes, mopeds, or skateboarders. Guess they forgot about rollerbladers… yesssss! CONCLUSION: Nice place to run or take a walk/run/rollerblade with some good people watching scenery in addition to the bay. A place I’ll continue to frequent.
