Beautiful gallery full of a wide range of original, mostly homegrown art. Apparently staffed by some of the actual artists, the folks here are helpful and knowledgeable and very friendly. A lot to see, and enough variety in both types of art and price ranges that I think it is a fun place to shop I love the tye die looking ties and the glass«Witch Balls».

Wow, you could totally spend an entire morning in this place. I’m a huge fan of the jewelry section. All of the jewelry are reasonably priced and very unique. Most the items here are made by local Virginians. The horse nail jewelry is pretty cool as well as the detailed bead work and glass work. They also have an extensive collection of art spread out between two floors of the store. If you are klutzy be careful, you break it you buy it! I think I have seen every type of art there is and then some. I was able to pick up a stain glass lamp that is perfect in my living room. If you are in downtown Portsmouth and you love jewelry or art, this is a must see. It is really close to the Skipjack store and within walking distance of the Elizabeth River Ferry.

Riverview is an eclectic gallery in a sprawling space(several levels and lots of nooks and crannies) with a big variety of fine art and more craft-like pieces. They have quite a bit of jewelry and decorative glass items. I give it an extra star for location. It’s really cool to take the ferry over to Olde Towne from Norfolk — it only costs a buck each way. It lets you off right in front of Riverview(hence the name), so it’s usually my first stop if I do that as a day trip.
