Went in for dinner Saturday evening, food was ok. Wasnt impressed with the group of guys that came in after me with a dog and that allowed them to bring it in and eat with them. Dogs and animals should not be allowed in restaurants unless they are used for a special need.

I will never order from here again! Quite possibly the WORST customer experience/service I have ever had. A group of us ordered $ 100.00 worth of food… here’s the experience: 1) delivery driver didn’t deliver two pizzas — when we only ordered two(pizzas) 2) ordered boneless bites, they came with buffalo sauce on them when there was no mention of sauce. 3) ordered a buffalo chicken wrap — came with NO buffalo sauce 4) barely any chicken on the chicken wraps After all of that, I called to speak with a manager and I got KIM. Kim claimed to be a manager, but her inability to diffuse the situation leads me to believe she isn’t one at all. While trying to explain all of the issues, she said, «I’m sorry can I put you on hold for one moment so I can get other orders out?» I obliged but then was hung up on(possibly accidentally) after three minutes. I called back and was immediately put on hold. I got hung up on again. I called back a third time and Kim answered. I told her that I shouldn’t have to call back three times, or be hung up on, when I’m trying to explain our experience/frustration. She hung up on me a third time. I can’t wrap my head around how OUR order is any less important than the rest of the orders. I also can’t understand why a manager isn’t more sympathetic to the complaint. I wasn’t looking for, or asking for anything free — we ate the food; but it’s the principal. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDCALLINGANYOTHERRESTAURANTINPORTSMOUTHBEFORETHISONE!!!

Just Another Forgettable NH PIzza/Sub Place — So sick of these Heard a lot of locals say this place is great — umm, they need to get out more. Been here twice, regretted both times. food is overpriced, small, and definitely not ‘awesome’, its barely good. Ok I’m being nice — it sucks. never going again. just get a sub from market basket, better price, more filling, you might even see another human being in the store. But if you want below average food made by what look like stoners in an always empty store — this is your place.

Called in a pickup order. Asked for 45 minutes to get order ready. Ordered fries, onion rings, and chicken. All cold when we came to pick it up. Place was empty when we went to pick it up. Great location, won’t be back again.

Decided to stop in since it’s been a long time. Got a large roni to split by myself. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza was. I don’t know if they changed something or if it’s just been THAT long, but it was delicious! If you’re looking for a great pie in Portsmouth, look no further! Guy at the counter was super friendly too. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We were staying in Portsmouth from out of town and asked the clerk at the front desk of our hotel for recommendations on good pizza. Needless to say I had higher expectations since this was recommended by a local. Delivery took 45 minutes(it’s less than a mile away) and we were not impressed by the pizza or the mozzarella sticks we had. Neither item had much flavor. I’m sure there are better places nearby for pizza.

I would NEVER eat here again. Not only was the place dirty inside, they served me raw chicken. The boneless wings weren’t just a little undercooked… all pieces were completely RAW inside. It wasn’t even close. Both my girlfirend and I had bitten into raw pieces of chicken. I then drove all the way back and asked for a refund for my order.(small pizza and wings). I asked for the full refund based on the fact i had to now drive back and was totally disgusted. Dan the kitchen manager did not seem to think it was a big deal and stated«sorry man, the complaint was just for the wings, not the pizza» He didn’t even offer to make me new wings. When i asked for the owners information he said he was«unable to give that out» which is a huge red flag. Any owner of an established restaurant should be available to customers even if its just an email address. Dan basically laughed off the complaint and handed me $ 6 and change and said have a nice day. I attempted to explain to him the severity of serving raw chicken and how much worse things could have gotten had we become sick. Again, he shrugged it off and sent me on my way. if Dan would have taken my complaint even remotely serious, i would not have written this review. Being in the restaurant business myself, i understand things happen and mistakes are made. It’s all about how you address the mistakes not the mistakes themselves that sets apart the good from the bad. The $ 7 he tried to save the owner by not refunding the pizza as well will cost the breadbox hundreds of $$ in lost business. On a side note, some of my friends have noticed a sharp decline in their food/décor as well over the past year. I would not be surprised if drugs/alcohol were involved given his and the other staff members appearances and stench. My guess is they will be shut down by years end. Do yourself a favor and cut into their chicken if you are even brave enough to eat there again.

I’d say they are better than your average pizza place. The pizza itself isn’t great but they have a ton of options and a lot of their stuff is good. Great roll ups and salads, pretty decent wings and calzones, good sandwiches, etc. service is usually good although lately they have been taking a looooong time on delivery. All in all, the number of options is what keeps me coming back.

I probably order a steak bomb from this place at least once a week, because they are absolutely the best! Just… go

Terrible service! Ordered $ 40 worth of food that I paid for in advance but got it late, was cold, and when I let the store know about it they were rude and hung up on me. If you are on vacation I suggest you check elsewhere for delivery if staying in the area.

Always a solid meal! I hate tuna normally but we ordered it for lunch at work one day and loved it. My favorite thing in the menu is the chicken kabob sub. It’s my go to, easy takeout place in Portsmouth.

Love the crew there always a good attitude and positive environment when I eat in. I have eaten at the bread box for 6 months now i get there boneless bites and fries four out of seven days a week, it’s not on the menu but if you request extra hot it’s to die for, just make sure it’s dipped after you break down your delicious chucky blue cheese! I now have my fellow employees making two maybe three orders daily, delivered.

I haven’t had the food here. I tend to order take=away when it’s late and I’m not cooking. My last«visit» it was 20 minutes before closing. The three employees could not make any hot pizza, calzone or other food. I found that disappointing and am not sure when I might find the time to eat there hours before they close.

I have only had the pizza. And all I can say is it is NOT good! The sauce is so thick, it looks, feels, and toast like straight up tomatoe past with a ton of oregano.(don’t get me wrong I like oregano but this is WAY to much.) The crust is no good as well. Undercooked and no flavor, maybe this is why the over abundant use of oregano. I would not go back here.

Finding a good chicken tender and fries dinner in a place as big as Portsmouth is somehow way harder than you’d imagine. All I want is the classic tenders and fries combo, unhealthy as it may be, for a cheap/reasonable price and for it to be very tasty… Bread Box is THE place to go satisfy these cravings.

We have had some ok subs from this place before, however, a recent purchase was really pathetic. I had a roll-up that was advertised as containing guacamole, and my wife had a roll-up said to contain humus. In both instances, it looked like the above was put on with a paint brush. There was barely a trace of either guacamole or humus in either sandwich. Adiós Bread Box, too many other good choices in town.

Awful. Long waits for delivery, cold food when it arrived. Crust tastes frozen and premade.

All i have to say is boooo. They shrunk their delivery area. If you deliver in Portsmouth, you should probably DELIVER in portsmouth. The food was great but we’re mad that they did that. Not a smart move considering customer loyalty. The menu is misleading that it says serving portsmouth, newington and rye. Bad play Breadbox.

If I could give negative stars I would. We ordered a large pepperoni and fries around 6:10. My husband was told it would be close to an hour. The food arrived at the house at 7:50. It was stone cold. He is now heating his pizza in the oven. I won’t touch it. Gross!

I’ve got to agree with Zoe on this. My first Bread Box pizza was pretty average. We were in the mood for pizza at work yesterday and really wanted delivery. But Bread Box said it would be at least an hour, so we picked it up. This may not be a fair test of the place because we got a veggie pizza(and a plain pizza really tells you if they know what they’re doing), but that’s what we got. There were some huge chunks of broccoli on the pizza, but the crust, sauce, and cheese were average. I’ve heard so many good things about the Bread Box that I think we’ll have to give them another shot. Something must have been wrong because I know some offices in town that live on Bread Box. I want to try a plain pizza, a cheese steak, a chicken parm sub, and a calzone. Maybe not all at once, though. I’ll update this after another try and we’ll see how it goes. One last thing about Bread Box, it’s a bit far from downtown if you want to walk there. No problem if you’re driving or getting delivery, but it’s about a half mile walk from downtown and I think there’s better pizza downtown.
