We had such a graceful stay at the Port Inn. From beginning to end, we couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. We knew we wanted a hotel within our budget, close enough to downtown, and that would allow our dog. The Port Inn for the bill, and at $ 99 we weren’t expecting much. The hotel quickly exceeded our expectations, though, as we were greeted by a friendly host and told we had received a complimentary upgrade. Stephen, the evening front desk agent, told us everything we needed to know, made us feel more than welcome, and even made sure he knew our dogs name! We were able to park directly in front of our room which we found very convenient. Normally this would give the motel vibe, but the Port Inn is no motel. Our keys were the kind that you simply hold up to the door, which was easy with a handful of luggage and a dog on a leash! Upon entering our room we were thrilled to see a giant king bed. There was a little table with chairs to eat our dinner at, which most hotels only give you 1 office chair or the bed to sit at and eat. A fridge, sink in the kitchenette, and all things necessary. We did not hear a single sound from any other guests. No disturbances at all. There was even a walking path for our dog, and he appreciated it after a long car ride. In the morning we went to the lobby for the free breakfast. «Free breakfast» usually means a few bagels and some yogurt. The Port Inn takes it many steps further. There was a waffle station, omelettes, plenty of fruit, delicious muffins, sausage and bacon and so much else to choose from. Really a great surprise for us hungry fools in the morning. I cannot imagine ever choosing to stay anywhere else when we visit Portsmouth next.

Stayed one night while in town visiting family. Simone at the front desk was very sweet during check in, which they managed to allow us access to 1 hour early. Room was very clean, bathroom was roomy. Just what we needed to grab some sleep before exploring the next morning. Breakfast was more then usually offered, omlet, waffles, bacon, sausage, yogurt. I want to know where they got their muffins too, so good. Simone was there when we grabbed breakfast and again was so nice when seeing her. Bonus that they allow dogs. Will stay here for future visits for sure.

Staying here currently. so far GREAT! Easy check in. friendly helpful staff. WiFi is REALLY fast!!! Room is very clean. Bed comfortable. Staying currently in peak season for the area and this is a FANTASTIC option to the $ 300-$ 400/night places in DT Portsmouth and its 1 exit away…

We were on a long drive from Boston to Maine and desperately needed a place to take a lengthy nap after our flight. We’d planned to stay in a hotel just 30 minutes away from Logan, but everything, and I mean everything, was already booked. It was summer, the wedding season, the weekend — and yet the fine folks at the Port Inn managed to open a room in time for us on very last minute notice. I was especially impressed that they went out of their way to assist us. When we first arrived their system said they had no open rooms, but the two people behind the counter(Damien and a very nice lady whose name I can’t recall) sweetly made a few calls to hotels just down the street on our behalf to save us a drive to each one. While they called up three or so nearby locations(and made a reservation for us at the nearest spot with an opening a few exits down the highway), one of their rooms came open thanks to their highly efficient cleaner. When they realized that we didn’t need the room for the whole night when we checked out in the afternoon(while the cleaner was still on hand to get it ready for the next guest), they fantastically discounted the room for us so we didn’t have to pay for the full night. Their customer service was top notch, and next year we’ll plan to make them our mid-point driving stop. Our room was clean, complete with kitchenette(a real treat after a long drive), and their shower had great water pressure(also essential after a long flight). We cannot rave about them enough. We weren’t the least bit surprised to learn two wedding parties had booked a slew of their rooms that week; it’s clear they’re classy and savvy enough to handle those kinds of events. Super cute layout of the inn, too. It had a very homey, almost bed and breakfast feel to it, even though their property was pretty expansive behind the main area facing the road.

So perfect… found this hotel on and paid for it. The hotel was so nice we stayed a second night and paid less than the first. Great continental breakfast and friendly staff. The beds were comfy and just what we needed.

I was unsure when my boyfriend told me he booked an inn right off the highway for my birthday weekend trip to Portsmouth, but I was delighted by this wonderful place! The woman who checked us in was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond the normal customer service spiel. The room was clean, a decent size, and updated without being annoyingly modern. The only complaint from me is that the bed was a little hard for my taste but it was roomy with plenty of pillows. They had a heated outdoor pool that we didn’t take advantage of but if we stay again we definitely will. The free breakfast was a step above the normal continental fare with remade omelette, sausage, bacon, muffins, bagels, fresh coffee and water with fresh fruit! A perfect way to start our day before exploring the gorgeous city of Portsmouth. You can easily walk to the downtown area if you don’t mind a picturesque 1.5 mile walk through the neighbourhood :) A cab ride one way from the waterfront was about $ 8 without tip. I highly recommend this family owned inn to anyone wanting to explore Portsmouth!

The Port Inn provided us with a straight to the point one night accommodation. Pros: Affordable Service Location(also works against them) Clean Cons: Location — if your room is in the front, you may be disturbed by frequent traffic off the main road Walls on the thin side We requested for a room in the front and they placed us right next to the office. In retrospect it worked against us because in the morning before we got up, we were able to hear frequent foot traffic from other guests going in for breakfast. Overall, We’d stay here again.
