Serve was good. Restaurant was clean. I had the Bayou Style Stew. Very good flavor. Would have it again. The gator bites did not fair as well. Very small portion for $ 9. No real flavor to them and the serving sauce was too strong. Prices were what I expected. I would stop again if ever going by.

Excellent Sunday breakfast buffet until 11, then brunch until 3. Waitresses are sometimes slow for drink refills, but the food is great.

The food here was solid, well at least what I had tried when I recently stopped in for lunch while making my way to Louisville. There was two in my party and we arrived shortly after lunch, there were only two other tables so service was pretty fast and friendly. We both looked over the menu and both decided on just a sandwich. I went with the special, which was a Fried Chicken Club served with bacon and cheese and what tasted like a touch or ranch on the bun. The sandwich itself was great, I am pretty sure that the breast was soaked in buttermilk before being fried, because it had a great taste and the inside was juicy while the fried batter was crisp and perfectly seasoned. The other item that was ordered was the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, which I heard was just as tasty. Both sandwiches were served with fair amount of fries. Overall prices were reasonable and the food was good, we even discussed returning on the way back if we happened to be passing by around lunch. The inside is decorated like an old farm with two separate dining rooms and a separate bar area. One thing I did find odd was the rhinestone studded suit on display. Apparently The Red Wagon somehow came into possession of a rhinestone-studded suit designed by Bob Bannister for Glen Campbell and a 1975TV appearance featuring the song, Rhinestone Cowboy. Overall I could see this being a popular place with the locals and roadside travelers alike. If you happen to be passing by I recommend making a stop.

Wow, great dinner of fried catfish and hot peach cobbler ala mode! Hostess wasn’t very friendly, but waitress was very friendly and efficient. If we didn’t live in Washington state we would be back frequently.

Traveling from Colorado to Kentucky back to Fl, we got hunry on 64East. from the billboards the Restaurant looked like what we wanted and reviews thru Unilocal it was a cinch, to stop and check out… the outside of building was very inviting with lovely fresh blooming flowers, which I took picture of and posted on FB… walking inside the décor has all types of Animals stuffed & mounted on walls, there is General Store that has all types souvenirs to be purchased! My husband& I split the butter baked Cod fillets over rice, with 2 side Salads we were barely able to finish. once our attentive waitress asked if we wanted dessert and explained homemade we split pie(it came heated with cool whip. all was delicious… our meal with my drink was less than 25.00! If we lived close we’d return. maybe one-day, on the way… God will direct our path again! Let Him direct yours!

I am rounding my review up to 3 stars due to the utter friendliness of the staff here. I was on a cross country trip when we decided to stop here because I was starving and they had what appeared to be some vegetarian & vegan options. I ordered the roasted vegetable platter and(heads up!) received a huge plate of two broccoli florets and a whole lotta white potatoes drenched in and oil and butter sauce. Bleh. I actually liked Red Wagon – though I did not like my dish at all. My companion fared far better – he ordered the black bean burger. I get the feeling the food can be hit or miss here. So – a heads up to all of the vegetarians and vegans out there — ask how they prepare the dish first! I wish I had:)

The food was a strong 4 out of 5. Shrimp po’boy had a half dozen good-sized fried shrimp. Cocktail sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion rounded out the sandwich. Hoagie roll was soft and crusty. Maybe a Cajun remoulade and a bit of slaw would have made it more po’boy-like, but it was a very satisfying sandwich as presented. The onion rings were excellent, crispy and not greasy, with meaty onion that yielded well. The ambiance is exceptional. Much of the décor is donated or on loan from members of the community. Deer, coyote, and pheasant by a taxidermist who’d done work for Cabela’s. Friendly and capable waitress. A real family-owned place where you feel at home. Recommended.

The food was ok. Took a long to get our food though. The waiter asked if we wanted dessert and we said no. Then we changed our mind and asked if we could have a menu for the dessert. It took 10 minutes to get the MENU’S. Then we asked for Peach Cobbler. Another 10 minutes later, the waiter said they didn’t have Peach Cobbler. Yet another 10 minutes later, he gave us the check and said that they actually did have the dessert and gave it to us for free. We brought the dessert home and it was as hard as a rock. Since it is the only food place in the area you should go there, but if you don’t have to go there, don’t.

The red wagon sandwich I had was GIGANTiC! It was amazing and the horseradish ranch sauce was out of this world. I intentionally got a box so I could enjoy this flavor explosion the next day! It is in the middle of nowhere though. Or between farms, a farm machinery dealer, and a bank.

Nearby in New Harmony for writer’s retreat. This was a delicious find! My friend had the catfish, which she said was excellent. I had the BBQ pulled pork and it was tasty. The sides were great — the vegetables were well-cooked. The server was friendly and the service was quick.

Ate here while staying in New Harmony, IN. Looking for a good place for an affordable Sunday brunch. The breakfast buffet was quite satisfying with a made to order omelet station. Nothing crazy good, but nothing tasted terrible. Our server and the omelet maker were fantastic, however many of the other staff were a little cold and unwelcoming.

Just had dinner here. Great place! Very clean and wonderful service. I had the oven roasted vegetable platter. Wonderful taste and huge serving. I couldn’t eat it all. My husband had the shrimp po boy and he said it was great. I would recommend this place. We will eat here again when we are in this area.

I’ve eaten here multiple times. The food is always excellent, but the service is rarely good. My extended family ate there on a Monday night and the experience was awful. The management of the restaurant never came to help our waitress or check on us. Part of my meal never came and it took over an hour and a half to get checks. During this time no one came to refill drinks or do any common services a restaurant provides. I would probably not be winning to return after this experience due to the poor management.

You must try this place! We stopped here on a whim on our road trip and were impressed. Delicious food and amazing service! We all had the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was superb! The French fries it came with were perfect– enough salt and crisp. There is even a small shop in front where they have some really cool stuff! Love this place and will seek out repeat business the next time we hit the road!!!

Well this was a nice surprise. Traveling from St. Louis to Louisville on a Friday and around noon started to look for someplace to eat. There is very little on this stretch of road and decided to take a chance on this place. Driving up it was such a cute and very well kept building. Parking lot was full of white pick up trucks and work vehicles. This is usually a good sign, especially this far out. They were busy but we were seated immediately. All four of us opted for the lunch buffet because we need to get back on the road. Staff was wonderful from the hostess to our server. All so friendly. The salad was so fresh, dressings seem to be homemade and yummy. The catfish was perfect. We enjoyed our experience and will make this a must stop on the next trip.

The name has changed: now it’s the Wagon Wheel but the food, the décor, and the service are all still great. In fact, I think the food is even a little better under the new name. My Dad takes me here, and we like to head for the booths in the bar since Dad has some trouble walking and also likes to watch sports on all the tvs in the bar. We arrived one time on all you can eat catfish night, and they serve fiddlers that are flaky white meat and coated in a perfect cornmeal batter. Wonderful! The steaks are very good, and if you love comfort food, order a side of the grown up Mac and cheese. It’s extra special. I’ve now ferried my sister and my brother to the WW when we’ve all been in SoILL visiting our Dad. They loved it, too.
