Love everything about this place! Quaint, family business with legit French food and amazing service. Even my extremely fussy chef mother who doesn’t like much thought it was outstanding! Major bonus points for that. She said the food was even better than what she has had in France. :)

All I can say is this place is amazing! Great food, great staff. First experience with real French cuisine and was not disappointed. We started with the Foie Gras and Portobello mushroom fries. The foie gras was different, but good. Not something I would order on a regular basis. The Portobello fries were superb. Loved the mustard sauce that came with them as well. The entrée were fantastic. I had the steak and frites, which was slices of steak and a basket of shoestring fries made with house seasoning. The steak was tender and juicy and full of flavor. The fries were great too. My wife had the lamb special which came with a stuffed bell pepper, lamb sausage, and lamb belly. She normally doesn’t care for stuffed peppers or sausage, but she loved every bite of this. Finally, we topped everything off with the lemon cake dessert. Very light lemon cake with blackberries bakes inside and topped off with house made whipped cream and more fresh blackberries. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back for the summer menu.

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly servers, incredible meals and dessert. The owners are very sweet and incredible hosts. It feels like you’re having a meal in their own home. High praise

I think that this place is a gem. The food is absolutely amazing, I have been several times and it’s never disappointed. Prices are spendy but it’s fine dining. so of course they have to be. Check this place out! It’s so worth it

The service was warm, inviting, and all-around fantastic. The food was expertly prepared and perfectly proportioned, and the desserts were exactly what you’d want after a delicious meal. The atmosphere is very romantic and a little nicer than most places around here, but not intimidating or stuffy at all. We enjoyed ourselves and will certainly be back!

Where do you begin to sing the praises of this unassuming little…“bistro” style Parisian style/Italian influenced restaurant? I have had the great pleasure of eating here fairly often and it is, without any doubt, the finest restaurant in our area. It is more than worth the trip out to Post Falls, ID and if you have a special occasion that must be celebrated you have to call Patricia and make a reservation. It is tastefully decorated, with delightfully subdued lighting and subtle Franc music playing in the background. When you walk in this tall, skinny French woman pops up out of nowhere with an adorable accent that makes you smile as she kisses each and every one you on the cheeks before taking you to your table. The service is formidable. I dare you to spill a crumb and see how long it takes someone to «crumb» the table. The menu is simple and simply perfect, no matter the season. There are staples that never seem to leave. If you’re new to French food, the«Chicken and Truffles» will have you onto foie gras and duck confit before you know it. Or short rib en croute will leave you wishing you ahd room for the amazing desserts they serve. If you do nothing else in your life, go have the chocolate caramel torte. Many other restaurants have tried to copy it(I know who you are, I’ve tried your attempts!) and nothing comes close to Chef Zirotti’s creative and surprising dishes. If you haven’t made the trip out to FDS, you are the only one missing out. You will never have a fine dining experience like this for the price. I can only hope they’ll move to Spokane soon so I might be able to say, «I’d like to try something else.»

My friend’s black martinin tasted great. Smooth subtle taste. We shared two appetizers – the snails in puff pastry and foie gras panna cotta, both were tasty informers that I need to come back and try an entrée. Desserts are usually a waste of money at most restaurants, but not here. I found tremendous value in the $ 5 Petite fours. One of the petites was a strawberry macaron w fig filling. Finally! A decent macaron in Spokane. The ones at crumb bakery are alright, but they all kinda taste the same and lacks a chewy texture. The taste here was better than an avg crumb macaron and the texture was leagues better. Two out of three of the other desserts were pretty good as well. The restaurant is at an interesting location on top of a hill w surrounding trees and a view of the mountains. Make sure to call in a reservation if you come, seating is limited, even on a Wednesday night.

It is appropriate that this«Gem» of a restaurant is in Idaho. The food rivals dishes I have had in Paris. My personal favourite is the Gnocchi with Sweetbreads. My chef wife was over the moon, a rare achievement. Todd Seattle Washington

Where do I begin… What an amazing culinary treat it is to dine here. Went during restaurant week and so happy I did. My mom and I got different items for each of the three courses so we could really get a taste of menu. We enjoyed Salmon Rillette and Crab and Ricotta Beignets for course one. Chicken & truffles and then pacific Mahi Mahi for course 2. For course 3 dessert: Belgium milk chocolate mousse and Colonel FDS. Amazing combination of flavored and textures. Will be going back ASAP!

Really disappointed. Ate here a couple of years ago and it was great. This visit was much worse. Although the service was very good, both meals were dry and flavorless. Not very busy and still couldn’t execute from the kitchen.

Love this place. Lots of flavor, great ambiance. From out of town… definitely give them a try. Nothing like it in North Idaho. A+ food and overall experience.

Best food I’ve had to date in the panhandle. While the main course prices are, regionally-speaking, on the high end, their sides are really reasonable for their size and for the overall quality of food and drink you’d pay nearly double anywhere else. I am a vegetarian, and while I hear that the veal is to die for, the homemade gnocchi are worth coming back on their own. The people are friendly and if you go more than once in the same month they are near sure to remember you and offer a very friendly face. I’ll be going back frequently.

I had never heard of this place before one of my regulars told me he was a waiter and workered here, I made reservations with my fiancé shortly after I found out and asked to sit in his section. He had appetizers waiting for us when we arrived and we, always feeling adventurous, asked him to please order our meals for us. We ate way too much and everything was fantastic. I bought my assistant a gift card before I left so that she could take a night off and go to dinner with her boyfriend. She said it was one of the best dinners she had ever had.

We were supposed to go to dinner all the way in Spokane tonight but with the kids both at friends’ houses we decided we would explore closer by. ‘Where should we go?’ And we proceeded to name every nice restaurant in the area especially since we were so dressed up. We know fleur d’sel is always booked but we were able to get a last minute reservation. Btw– be sure to always make reservations. Thank God they could fit us in! We shared some champagne and appetizers, ran into some old friends and new, and loved our quail and short ribs. Although it may seem ‘anti-american’ the service is purposefully slow so we can enjoy each other’s company and not be rushed. The location may be ‘against the grain’ but homey and fancy at the same time. It never disappoints.

This is our favorite restaurant for special celebrations and it never fails to surpass our expectations! The food is always spectacular with a unique variety of appetizers and entrees. Crab and ricotta beignets, Quail with foie gras, lamb, etc. and vegetarian options some GF. For our anniversary we were given complimentary orange wine made«in house». Everything is superb, a gastronomic experience you should make a point to treat yourself to!

Woot! This is a gem. I had been trying to go to this lovely place for the better part of two years, but had never really had the pleasure. Low and behold a spur of the moment tinge of hunger and adjacency to the locale prompted a spontaneous change. Super impressive. The ingredients used were definitely from scratch. The best potatoes au gratin I have ever had in my life, A pumpkin tart made from real non canned pumpkin with a butter crust and spiced mousse!, amazing lamb bourgonone, shrimp avocado caprese, and crispy fried duck bites. There was nothing at this restaurant that failed to appease. I will definitely be returning! Probably by far the best dining experience in the last year :).
