Sad to see this place closed, though its not surprising since it seemed empty most nights. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and were not disappointed; we went back a couple times since, but only when we could get a babysitter. It was quiet, service was great, and the food was impressive from a culinary perspective. I suppose we have to find another French restaurant on par in the area. I think its closure had to do with it being more of an occasion restaurant, like our anniversary, rather than a go-to spot for quick food with children.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Bezu, and the staff ensured we had a wonderful time. everyone(the hostess, managers/owners, food runners, and especially our server) was great!!! The food was outstanding. .from my mussels soup to my husband’s veal chop. I’ve read the comments about the prices, and I have to disagree about the food being overpriced. The food appeared to be fresh and tastefully prepared. compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff. we will return and hopefully, our server(Stephano) will«work» with us again. thank you.

Had a wonderful lunch with a gf. The parsnips soup was amazing, it’s not cream base, love that, healthy choice. I had a mixed green salad with Tuna Tatar, it was very good. The Tuna Tatar could have been more flavorful but it was good. The chocolate cake dessert was amazing! The service was good. The place was not crowed and the noise level is good. The portion size could be bigger. Service was professional. This does not seem like a party place to me but its enjoyable!

Nice little venue in the burbs. Loved the wine list and the roasted chicken.

Went there for a anniversary dinner and had never been. Food was excellent. Was not a big fan of the recommended wine pairing, but that is sooooo subjective. Service was good but our waiter had a strong accent, so I had to actively listen… I would definitely go back.

We really wanted to dine at Bezu so one night after work we decided to hike out there it was an early reservation at 630PM the restaurant was not at its«peak» yet. Once there I could sense the popularity of the restaurant there was a relax and casual atmosphere that was created by by the neighborhood crowd and regulars. The restaurant had a contemporary design with various seating needs such as cozy booth seats for 4 or round table for a larger of people. We could sense our«non-popularity» or unregular status when we landed at a table in the middle of the restaurants while many booths were«reserved». The waiter had a strong accent it was hard to understand what he was saying and he was really rushing us. I decided to try the special(appetizer or entrée) which was the steak tartare in entrée portion my bf had the beef tenderloin. My steak tartare was cut in small pieces which was good but it was soaked in an overwhelming amount of worcestershire sauce and tabasco, after the first 5 bites I started to feel the sauce overloading my sensory my appetite was turning even the salad and fried fries didnt help despite the tastiness. My bf steak was tender he enjoyed it. It was overpriced for the very ordinary menu. Would I eat there again? Not sure… the menu couldn’t escape the suburb influence of being«safe».

Absolutely awful service makes the food not worth the trip. I went with a group of people for a birthday dinner. It took 20 minutes to place a drink order and an hour to place a food order. Waiters were walking around but no one paid any attention to our table. As a group of 7 we were pretty hard to miss. When we finally did get someone to give us water and bread, the woman couldn’t figure out how to serve all of us, so we passed around the glasses and took the bread basket and tongs ourself while the woman just stood there. The food was good – I’ll give the restaurant that. It wasn’t spectacular and probably wasn’t worth the price. I got the mushroom risotto, which was tasty but I’ve had good mushroom risotto elsewhere for less than $ 24. Dessert was a treat, though. I don’t know if it was because we had awful service either or because my group knew the chef, but we got 2 extra desserts and a bottle of prosecco. I’m guessing it was because we knew the chef and owner. Clearly this is a good place to go if you know the management. My bottom line about this place: the horrible service made the food not worth the wait and for what it is, the food is not worth the price.

Went here for restaurant week. The food was generally mediocre, although the salmon tartare appetizer was pretty good. I got the beef stew which was nothing to write home about. My girlfriend got the steak. She said it was tough, but the flavor was ok. The presentation was pretty strange — served on a white plate with potatoes. No color whatsoever. The pear dessert was very bland, would not recommend. The peach did look a bit better though. I know that the restaurant week menu doesn’t have the best offerings, but I don’t think we will be coming back for the(very expensive) full menu.

Small but nice French fusion restaurant in Potomac Village… but seems kind of out of place. It is pretty good for what it is though. I had the salad nicoise, which I really liked. The non-salad dishes are very small portions though, so you may want to get some appetizers… and dessert ;)

I have never written a review for anything in my life, but I would be doing great injustice if I did not write one for this place. This is by far one the best restaurants I have ever eaten at! My parents took me here last night for my birthday. Potomac has some great fine dining and I was quick to dismiss Bezu because of its location in a strip mall. Do not be fooled! The ambiance is nice, the service is great, and the food is absolutely spectacular. The flavors in every dish leave nothing to be desired. It is pricey but you’re getting what you pay for. Absolutely delicious! Our family of 5 had quite a range of appetizers and entrees. The lobster topped with spinach(the special) was my personal fav appetizer. And the chicken breast was my fav entrée. But I am pretty sure everything on that menu is prepared as brilliantly as these dishes. Hope your experience is as wonderful as mine was!

What hidden gem! Who would have thought that a very high end amazing French restaurant would be hidden in a strip mall?. It was our anniversary and my husband did a little research to help us find this out of the way restaurant. He called in advance since this was our 1st time dining at this establishment and booked a chefs tasting menu. They even put some of my favorite ingredients in our 7 course meal! What a truly wonderful dining experience! I have no idea why anyone would mock the sommelier here. Olivier was so kind and helpful. He recommended some wonderful wines and even gave us a champagne toast. This man truly knows his wines without being annoying or pretentious. The place was packed and my husband had originally booked a booth. But that went to a celebrity. Who I will not name :-). That’s okay though because they spoiled us with service! 1st course was a creamy chestnut soup with sautéed mushrooms. It was velvety smooth. 2nd course was a terrific ahi tuna seared and wrapped on nori seaweed on a mustard cream. 3rd course was my favorite of the evening sautéed foie gras on a wine poached pear with a balsamic reduction. 4th was a very refreshing house made intermezzo of blood orange and lemon sorbet on a bed of vodka soaked orange slices. Then we had pan seared red snapper on a bed of black rice. This was the only misstep of the evening a little too much salt for me but my husband adored it. 6th course was grass fed rack of lamb cooked perfectly on a bed of sautéed veggies. This was followed by a cheese course which consisted of locally farmed French style cheeses, nuts, honey, chutney, fruit bread and walnuts. If that wasn’t enough the final course was an outstanding chocolate ganache torte. This was a meal to remember. It can be a little pricey but they use very expensive local ingredients. And even preparing these dishes at home would be costly. But there are ways around that! They have happy hour with very discounted wine, drink and food specials at the bar. The lunch here is quote affordable for French food. Everyone should come here once. The owner was very nice and checked on us a couple of times. Our server was very helpful as well. We had a terrific time.

Another one of those high scale French restaurant. The food here is unbelievably delicious. Fancy venu and very attentive waitors. Their food is not only succulent in appearance but it taste just as great. Most of what I ordered was all meat and they were all very tender. –Organic breast of chicken –Veal chop –muscovy duck breast The duck breast has to be my favorite, it was so good! I had soup and other little appetizers, but they were all average. Also met the owner of the restaurant who came over giving us champagne, appetizers and attempted on giving us more food and desserts, but I ordered too much already, so I didn’t accept it. Had a great experience and will definitely return again.

I was excited to try out this hidden gem in my neighborhood — the chef, the menu — everything sounded wonderful. Not so much as it turns out! The space — nice and comfortable but too loud and hard to have a conversation. The service — quick but I could not hear the specials — which they almost all sounded the same from what I made out. The food — all right at best. The food lacked inspiration and presentation. I had branzino and that was the highlight of the evening. It would have been nice to see it presented the way it tasted. For the $$$ we spent we will try other restaurants before we come back here.

Food is decent and the atmosphere is ok. However, the price anchors you to some pretty lofty expectations and it only partially delivers. The restaurant capitalizes on the fact that there isn’t a lot of options for the high priced neighborhood in which it resides. We need some competition to promote some inspiring food(at least for that price range)…

Really difficult to rate this nouveau-chic addition to Potomac Village. As many Unilocalers have noted it’s like a chic Washington DC restaurant was suddenly transplanted into a strip mall in the«boonies». Perhaps the main difference is that in DC if the food, service, etc. is not up to par, people don’t come back since there are many other options… In Potomac, as Borat would say, «not so much»!(ie. where u gonna go: Potomac Pizza?) This is a restaurant designed to cater to the local wealthy citizens of Potomac. A simple gin & tonic is $ 12(before tip!). A decent wine bottle of wine can easily run 3 figures($ 100+) and the menu entrees & appetizers reflect these stratospheric aspirations. The question is: «is it really worth it»? If you’ve read the reviews(especially the«filtered» ones… hint), — you’ll find a lot of «hit or miss» in food, service, and customer satisfaction(several 1-star reviews). There are also a lot of 5-star reviews as well. As a local I would love to patronize this place more since it’s only a few minutes from my house. Unfortunately, — to paraphrase one of the(flitered) reviewers, — When ur paying the big bucks, — you don’t want«hit or miss» in any dept.(food, service, etc.) That’s a fair assessment and by that measure I would have given it 2.5 stars. Since you have to choose either 2 or 3 stars, I gave it the extra ½ star for ambience. The front bar area has perfect«mood» lighting thanks to a translucent amber back-lit(technically under-lit) system that I haven’t seen anywhere else in DC(or Europe for that matter). It’s worth a trip just to bask in that glow and have a few over-priced drinks(sigh). If they would just back-off on the price-gouging, maybe change-up the menu and offer larger portions, — then they’d truly earn what they think they’ve already achieved: 5 stars. But then, — it wouldn’t really reflect the Potomac life-style of mega-mansions. luxury cars(10x the National average I’ve heard), etc. C’est la vie

Had dinner with friends on a Friday evening during restaurant week. They were really pretty good! Innovative menu, French inspired with an Asia fusion twist. I had the flank steak which was really tough to the point of not edible but my friend also had the steak and his was great. The salmon was beautiful. We also had the banana desert and it was fabulous! Nice atmosphere inside, cool deco, and even crowded it wasnt loud. Recommend for dinner with friends or a romantic evening.

Asian — French fusion has been beaten to death by now. Everybody and their mother wants to fuse Asian and French cuisine. Well, newsflash muthafu*kers, the Vietnamese have been doing this for ages. Finding a decent nuevo French-Asian fusion place is like finding the elusive bf that every homo and his friends want. They are out there, but you have to look harder. At first sight, Bezu — french for«kiss» — seems out of place located in a strip mall. How good can a strip mall restaurant be, I ask myself? Well, I have been fooled by locations before, why not try this one? Once you enter, you are completely wiped out of your memory that this restaurant is located in a strip mall. The interior is very welcoming, warm, and romantic. Ambient lighting(spare me from the bright fluorescent lighting I see in every strip mall), calming music, and a fairly low noise level make this restaurant ideal for a date or dinner with friends. Started off with the appetizer special: braised pork belly with baked apples. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth buttery, but I did not like the apples as an accompaniment. It was a tad sweet for my taste. A 4 star dish. My dining partner got the kobe wontons. I didn’t understand the purpose of using wagyu beef in wontons. After all, you are using ground meat, the significance of wagyu is lost when you grind it to a pulp. It was tasty, though. I had the fuzu rice noodles, my dining companions got the scallops and shrimp, and wild mushroom ravioli. The scallops and shrimp were the clear winners(yes, I eat off of strangers’ plates… you got a problem with that?), followed by my rice noodles and the ravioli. Presentation was great and the flavors came out perfect. We decided to skip dessert because we were full. Portion sizes are big enough to satisfy the glutton in you. Towards the end, Bezu satisfied my hunger and excited my senses. Do it. Experience the«kiss». [ ] Not worth it. [X] Will definitely return if I am in the area.

Went there on a Sat night and surprisingly, it was half-empty. The restaurant was located in a quiet surburban shopping center and didn’t look fancy from outside. However, the décor inside was cozy and somewhat fancy. I liked the seating unlike what others said. We ordered some pan fried noodle dish and soft-shell crabs. I was not impressed by the taste. Their complimentary bread was good. The waiter was kind and attentive to our needs. As we were leaving the restaurant, the manager(could be the owner) came and asked us if everything was good– that was a nice gesture. Food was not great but service was good! Overall, it’s an OK place in Maryland.

Been there multiple times. Excellent fine dining restaurant with outstanding meals every time. Very pleasant evening. Great wine selection. While not a children’s restaurant per se, we’ve taken my son there on numerous occasions since he was 10 and there were a number of things on the menu he loved.

Went during Restaurant Week. Not terribly impressed. Let’s do the pros and then get into the cons… quite a bit of cons. Pros: half-price wine bottles on Mondays. I think this is a Monday thing and not a function of Restaurant Week. Their complimentary bread was wonderful. Our appetizers and desserts were good(not great, but at least good). And, yeah, I liked their silverware; didn’t take any home with me, but I thought about it. Ok, the Cons: let’s start with the major one. The tables are way too close together. If I’m eating at a nice place, I don’t think I should have to hear my neighbors’ conversations so clearly. Honestly, it is sooooo irritating to put tables that close together. The service was just not that good. At times, the server was hurried and intrusive. Literally intrusive. Like when he was pouring the wine for the table next to us and his but was actually touching my shoulder… seriously, I mean, the tables are way too close. When he would pour our wine, he was doing it so quickly that he would leave a trickle of wine on our table top as he was pulling the bottle away. This should not be the behavior of a more upscale dining establishment. Finally, the main entrees. We ate off the Restaurant Week menu, so we had three choices. I had the ginger crusted skate and T had the noodles with shrimp and scallops dish. For my skate, I would have to go with bland; not worth getting. As for the T’s entrée, it was basically fancied up pad thai… and it was even that fancied up. Just not what we were expecting. They should put a better foot forward or just not participate in RW. We were both getting annoyed that we were going to have to pay $ 35 each for the prix fixe menu, but when we got our bill, we saw that they only charged $ 30 for each. That was at least something. Still not worth that price, but better then $ 35. In my opinion, nothing really special.
