Very poor quality food. The silverware was dirty. They should use a good cleaning inside. Soup at the salad bar was flavorless.

Was not expecting much, but had a fairly pleasant experience here during lunch on 10⁄29. Ordered the Continental Cheesesteak with fries. Food came out quickly and it was very good. Also, the $ 5.50 price was great! Waitress checked on us often, but could have been more friendly and the place needs major redecorating. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and left happy. I would eat here again.

Quality food for prices no one in town can beat! The place could use a face lift but food is good.

this place does not deserve a two star rating. i’ll admit when I walked in it definitely looked like a dump. but our food was good, everything was clean, and all the employees were very polite. respect the old crappy diners!

After seeing mixed reviews about this place, and not coming here for years, i decided to have breakfast here with my 3 yr old son. I had full intentions of having the breakfast buffet, but this isnt available on Wednesday, but in fact, only available on saturday and sunday. Not a big problem, they have a large breakfast menu. The prices were definitely on the low side, which was great. My sone decided on the 3 pancakes, and the sausage, while i got 2 sunny side eggs with homefries and chicken breast(love that grilled chicken breast is an option since ive been trying to eat healthier). The waitress obviously didnt want to be here, but she was not rude, or even unconcerned with her customers. She checked on us often. Now for the food!!! Pancakes– they are on the large side. So 3 pancakes are a bit much for a 3 year old. They were also very dense and chewy, instead of light and fluffy as anticipated. The sausage was patties, and had decent flavor and was cooked perfectly. The eggs were a bit on the bland side, but most restaurant dont salt and pepper the eggs, so that was fine(thats why there is salt and pepper at the table, right). The homefries were also on the bland side, and needed salt, pepper and ketchup, but, they had a nice brown cook to them, as expected for homefries. The grilled chicken was seasoned, and while the taste was off putting at first, it wasnt bad, and also had a nice sear to it. The other reviews called into question the cleanliness of this restaurant, but from what i saw, this was not an issue. In fact, i saw them cleaning several times while waiting for my child to finish his pancakes. The silverware was clean dispite other reviews. The tables and booths have normal wear and tear on them, and could be replaced, but seats were not torn. Lighting was nice, and overall it was a decent experience. I dont know if i would come back anytime soon, but only because there are better breakfast options in town, but im not opposed to returning it a group of friends would say, «hey, lets go to Pottstown Diner». A side note, as we were about to pay, the man at the register handed my son a spiderman toy still in the box and asked if he wanted it. My son would never turn down a free toy. Our total came to $ 15.53, which the guy rounded down to $ 15.50. I just looked up the toy on , and it is selling for $ 23.87, plus shipping. So we both ate our fill at breakfast and got a $ 24 toy for $ 20.50(after tip).

It’s really outdated in there. The food wasn’t bad though. Our Server was very good. If you can get past the look of the place you might like the place.

Pretty awful. Dingy, dirty, pissed off staff, and bad food. If you are absolutely starving, maybe, otherwise avoid this one.

I had breakfast here and unfortunately, will never eat there again. The coffee mugs and silverware were dirty; our server was not friendly and gave poor service. The server was obviously annoyed when I didn’t want the breakfast buffet and wouldn’t refill our drinks. I was so grossed out by the dirty dishes, I ended up not eating my food, which didn’t taste that great to begin with.

I didn’t feel comfortable when I was sitting in there eating. Service was good but the place is dirty. And when I left I had bug bites on my ankles! Yuck. I will not be returning.

I had to try it after reading both good and bad reviews. I wish I had not. When we were served coffee my other half’s coffee cup had old coffee on the side of it. I asked for a new cup of coffee and the waitress did so without heartburn. Her excuse for the coffee on the side was that it had spilled and it dried fast. Um, no, it’s been there for awhile. I ordered the crab meat omelet which did not contain crab. It contained imitation crab and the egg did not mince well with the taste of the fake crab. False advertisement and misleading. The restrooms smell like urine and look as though they had not been cleaned in years. I will never go back again. Just not worth it.

Close to the Pottstown Quality Inn, we stopped here for dinner after checking in late one night. Entering was like stepping back into the tired 1970s. Boy, does this place need a makeover! The entire ambience was dark & dingy. The menus were falling apart with the plastic cover sheets attempting to preserve the crumbling offering listings. Our standard test for a Greek diner is to order the French Onion Soup & the Gyro Platter. If they are good, it’s a safe bet that the rest of the offerings are acceptable. The Soup turned out to be worthwhile & bountiful. Our hopes were raised by the Gyro since it was Lamb instead of the usual Beef or Chicken. We choose the Lamb because that was the«way things ought to be» but from there it was downhill. When we tried to dump the usual French Fries for a small Greek Salad, we were told that we could only do so if we ordered a full size & priced Salad.(Most places will do this for a $ 1 or $ 2 extra.) the best we were able to negotiate for was canned Mixed Veggies that were bland & soggy. The Gyro itself was OK, but the meat was a bit skimpy & the lamb spices were«dumbed down» to American levels,(Why is it that Americans like either bland or scorchingly over spiced dishes? They have never experienced a symphony of subtle flavors. Maybe that is why controlling heartburn is a billion dollar obsession…) Finally, getting back to the next door hotel was a serpentine route since the driveway between the two was blocked by serval large concrete barriers. Maybe they were trying to tell us something…

Stay far away from here. The place is dirty, the food is horrible. The bathrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned here at least a month. I will not be returning.

Terrible. Went for breakfast there was a roach in my boyfriend s oatmeal when we told the waitress she told us to just get more. Um out the same pot as the roach? No thanks.

This is my father-in-law’s favorite place to eat out. Most meals come with the soup & salad bar. The place is a little old, but that’s part of it ‘s charm and pretty much in line with other restaurants in that area. I decided to try the bagel mushroom cheeseburger with 1000 Island dressing… a little too much salad dressing for me, lots of it dripped out, but it was pretty good. The fries were coated with something, but they tasted good. The salad bar was a little skimpy on salad-y things, but my husband was pleased because he finally found apple butter & cottage cheese(and I just crinkle my nose). The chicken noodle soup was good.

The food stunk, for real. Luckily, I came here at 11:00PM and the last time I ate food was 9:00AM. So I was starving and knowing my rules for diners, stick to sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast items. I ordered a rib eye sandwich and asked for another roll so I could make their open faced sandwich into a closed faced sandwich. Food took some time to come out, but the waitress was incredibly friendly and nice throughout. My rib eye sandwich was basically two thin steaks, thrown on a hoagie roll with a few pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes on the side, with onion rings on top. A small plate of fries was included with the sandwich. The sandwich was plain as could be and the steak was sinewy as could be. It turned into one hell of a chewy, tearing sandwich, which was fine… because once again I hadn’t eaten since 9AM. Honestly, had we all not been so ravenously hungry, we would have kept driving just one more intersection, we would have passed by an applebees or red lobster DOH! Oh well, service was good and everything was cheap. The food was bleh.
