it was a good place to eat. i tended to like there specials more than their regular menu and the patio was a joyto sit on during the season i guess the expansion was a bad financial decision. sad to see another old friend fade into the sunset

The ‘brew pub’ burger might be one of the best burgers I’ve eaten in years. Belly busting portions, great wait staff, picturesque views of the Hudson. Others in the party had the Mayor’s Favorite kielbasa sandwich which was great as well. A tucked in gem off route 9!

In town visiting our son at Marist College. Wanted to do a local, non-chain place and always see this place on the way to Marist so decided to give it a try. First impressions upon entering is it’s a bar with some tables around it for diners. But there is a separate room, where we sat. It is not a fine dining establishment. It IS however a nice casual, relaxed place with a good selection of «pub» food. I was impressed by the large variety of beers available, the food was very good(and large quantities) and the service was excellent(our server — Shannon — was extremely pleasant). If you want relaxed and casual and burger/sandwich type of grub this is a good choice.

Been coming here for years. You have to know what to expect. It’s NOT a fine dining establishment. It IS however a nice casual spot to spend sometime outdoors in the nice weather nursing a beer. I would stick to pirogies and chili, which are both very good. Service is friendly, haphazard and generally slow, which is why it doesn’t get more stars. And the traffic noise can be a bit irritating since it’s close to busy Rt 9. On my visit today, the Pierogies were excellent. Side salad fresh except for a few wilted pieces of lettuce. I asked for a side of housemade kraut with caraway. Thought it was good, I question whether it was made in house — it was served warm and looked/tasted if it was out of a can and nary a caraway seed in sight. I’ll skip it next time. We washed it all down with a local MHBC Kold One(props to them for having a local beer on tap) and a Stella Artois. Just right. I will always come here in the right frame of mind for Pierogies and beer!

This place is like the dining room of a retirement home. Staff was old, but clientele was older. As a person in my 30’s I felt like I was the youngest in the room by 20 years. That said, it’s a pretty barren and boring interior with TV’s tuned to Fox News. The menu is very cookie cutter, and so is the food. Not bad by any means, but nothing more than you’d expect at an average, run of the mill diner. The staff always seems like they’re in a rush. And the last time I tried ordering a cup of chili to go, I got there when they told me to, and then stood around for another 15 minutes. There were a total of 5 other customers eating there at the time. Best part of the Andy’s experience was the chili, by far. It is quite good. Overall this place is basically a dive bar, so stay away unless you enjoy watching irritating TV news with a bunch of old folks. Go to Cosimo’s or Lola’s or Palace Diner if you’re near the Walkway.

The first time I went to Andys Place everything was fine so I decided to go again; that was my first mistake. I now know that Andys Place is the home of the worst chili cheese dogs I have ever hard. They were simply disgusting, rubbery and completely overdone. I was given two but I barely finished one without feeling the need to get sick. Not even the cheese and chili could help this unfaithful meal. The only reason I’ll give Andys Place 2 stars, is because I do recall a decent experience(but not good) the first time. I am hesitant to return if at all.

Nice spot, indoors is clean and the waitress very nice. I’ve been here on two occasions. First time I got the chicken Marsala and it was very good! The second time I got the Ruben which had a good amount of meat on it and was tasty! Only reason I give 3 stars instead of 4 is because, my boyfriend got the chili cheese dogs and they were not good at all. The hot dogs were rubbery with a bad aftertaste. Although the chili on top tasted pretty good. The deck is very nice for some drinks on a warm day! Have to go back and try something else.

Used to be good until the menu and apparently the chef changed. Everything is frozen food. No flavor. Sloppy presentation. Over priced and even my meal was missing ingredients stated in the menu(Chicken Madeira). Sent an email to them explaining how bad our experience was and no response. It is apparent the owners just stopped caring. don’t waste you let time or money. It’s a shame really. I used to love to go.

The view is about all you get. You can taste that everything is frozen. Burger was ordered medium and was gray. The whole way through. Got a round half pound burger on a club roll? Didn’t even fit. Unfortunately, Andy’s is on a downhill slide.

My husband and I walked in, the bartender yelled, «sit wherever you like». Our table was sticky and the windowsill hadn’t been cleaned in months. He ordered a burger and I ordered the vegetable panini. The meal took over 35 min to come out, a little long, considering there were only a few tables in the whole place. The burger was fine, very large on a big roll. As for mine, it was laughable. No zucchini, no red pepper(as stated in the menu) and the piece of portabella mushroom was the size of a half-dollar. There was one slice of yellow squash the size of a quarter. On top of this, some genius in the kitchen decided to cover everything with canned string beans! There was also a small sliced carrot thrown in. So where was the sandwich that was in the menu? Oh, did I mention that it was on a hard roll with no dressing? Definitely not a panini sandwich! On the plus side, our server was very nice and she took the sandwich off the bill. We had 2 beers, very cold which was nice. Sorry Andy but you really miss the mark.

Every time I came here, I enjoyed the casual dining experience. It’s a great place to grab lunch. You have the option of dining inside or outside on the deck. The only thing I wish for is a menu with more options because it is limited. The staff is very friendly. The prices are reasonable for the portions you are served.

We traveled from Long Island on Mother’s Day to have dinner here. Great location and views of the Hudson and walkway bridge. Ordered food at 7:00 p.m. by 8:30 p.m. still no food. I politely asked the waitress if the food was coming; she was polite & said they had super large tables for Mother’s Day & the kitchen could not keep up. By 8:45 p.m. still no apps and/or dinner! We left…, thanks Andy’s Place for ruining our evening…:(

I like Andys. They have very good choices of all American food on the menu. Their Chili is the best in Poughkeepsie. Service is always excellent. Ralaxing atmosphere. Good for a beer and burger.

Walked in, a little confusing as there is no hostess and no one noticed us at the door until a customer at the bar told us we should sit outside. We ordered the chili as an app. It wasn’t half bad. The disturbing part here was that I got the kielbasa sandwich with sauerkraut, i asked if it came with the polish mustard and the waitress said yes. they gave me mustard on the side in the jar. Not a squeeze jar, a jar with a lid, for me to use my own utensils with to get the polish mustard out to use on my sandwich. Ill admit i did it as my sandwich was dry but can’t help but think how many different people’s spoons and knives have entered that jar.

I freaking love Andy’s! We go here all the time! It might seem somewhat divey upon walking in but the food is great and the staff is friendly. I love that they serve kielbasa and perogies! Its also a great place to grab dinner outside on the patio in the summer

I came in around 11 in the morning because I was very hungry. It was a bit early for lunch at Andy’s Place, but the staff said it was OK. I sat out on the deck, which had a great view of Walkway Over the Hudson(see photo). It just felt so peaceful, sitting out there with no one else on the deck except the waitress. I ordered the sausage with pierogies and sauerkraut. It was exactly what I needed. It was greasy, but it was really good. Meat + pasta = happiness. Factoid: Andy Tkazyik owns the restaurant. His son John Tkazyik became the youngest mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie in 2008.
