I ordered from here for the first time the other day. The person answering the phone was gruff and abrupt. They only sell pizza, which I guess is why there’s no menu to be found. When I inquired about appetizers or other items, he acted like I was an idiot. I advised him I was a first time customer and his affect didn’t change. The pizza was greasy and not crisp. It was edible, but we won’t be ordering from here again. Overall, disappointed. Also of note, they only accept cash, which is strange in 2016.

He is reasonable and fast. I heard from locals that this used to be the best pizza joint in Poughkeepsie but that it has declined over the past few years. I’m not sure how the pizza used to taste but it could be better. It seems like the vegetables were frozen at some point rather than being cut fresh. If you order from here, stick to meat and cheese toppings.

I love this place and always will. DD’s is a neighborhood pizza joint, plain and simple. Very good old school gas oven pizza.

I love D D’s. It was our family pizza place growing up, and it hasn’t changed much at all since the 80s. As others have mentioned, the pizza is on the doughy side. They’re a bit smaller in diameter but thicker than the average. I love their sauce. Great calzones, too.

I can’t get enough of the pizza here. It is always fresh and delicious. The owners(I think three brothers) all take great pride in their work. They are friendly and helpful. The prices can’t be beat — $ 10 for a large plain pie. $ 1.50 for a plain slice(although on the smallish side, still a great price compared the Sbarro in the mall). I think they charge $ 1.50 extra per topping. I only eat cheese pizza, but the rest of my family always raves about the toppings that come on their orders. The toppings look plentiful and fresh. DD’s is definitely my favorite pizza place in Poughkeepsie. Only complaint is the parking situation but it’s manageable.

Pizza is a very subjective thing. While some people might crave ultra thin crust versions, others might prefer Chicago style with crust that leans toward pie dough. If you like medium crust pizza, then DD’s is awesome. I have driven 3.5 hours each way for a DDs pie, and spent most of my campus job money while at college buying pies from this place. The building /dining area is nothing impressive, and the atmosphere is non-existent, but they cook amazing pizzas in real ovens(not those horrible conveyor oven things). I’m dying for a DDs pizza right now.

Yummy pies made by a couple of brothers. No delivery. There is a dining room, but it is certainly nothing to write home about. We used to order here all the time but the lack of delivery can be a hassle.

I’ve been going here for years. The guy behind the counter is always very nice and you also get to see a nice older lady(his mother?) speaking Italian and going around the store, I always assume she was in the middle of making sauce and just came out from the ‘back room’ for a break. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I just went for lunch again last week. 3 slices and a grape soda, $ 6. How can you beat that? I am really astounded the place isn’t chock full all the time. Great pizza. Parking and getting out of the lot are a little weird.

Delicious pizza. I don’t like pizza and therefor don’t eat it often but when I do I am a harsh judge. This passes with a b+

If you go straight on Wilbur Blvd you will drive directly into DD’s Pizza. Got $ 10? You got a nice pizza, Sicilian is only $ 1 more. Slices are $ 1.25 be aware they are a bit small compared to other NY pizzerias. 2 guys behind the counter speak in short Jersey-Boy styled sentences and Italian while they take orders and prepare the next pizza. Ayy, fuggedaboutit. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and the result of their labor in this no frills pizza place. They have calzones, sandwiches and even prepare dinners. I’ll be back.
