Fresco Tortillas

Lots of great food! New menus look great! Best taco in town! Not in a crappy neighborhood and ran by very friendly people! Did I mention best taco in town?

I love this place! I eat here weekly. I usually get the steak burrito and chicken nachos. The prices are very reasonable and the service is exceptional. I’ll order food on the phone and it’s always ready by the time I get there. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a really great authentic Mexican food made by Asians lol. Or anyone that’s hungry!

Most amazing Mexican fare made by an Asian family. Best tortillas. Wish they made gluten free ones though. Get the burrito!!!

Not sure what all the fuss is about with this place, except that it’s located next to a college and drunk kids probably account for the biggest fan base. To sum it up in one word: bland. No flavor. We ordered tacos, nachos, burritos, guacamole, and salsa, and the flavor quotient was hovering around a 3 on all items. Even a little dash of lime juice would’ve greatly improved the flavor. The salsa was extremely pureed and watery, you may as well drink it with a straw because it just runs right off the chips. The guacamole was also pureed to death for some strange reason. If I wanted to eat baby food, I’d just eat baby food. The nachos were just some tortilla chips with one spoon of guac next to one spoon of salsa next to one spoon of tomatoes. We had to mix them into nacho form ourselves. Very strange.
The freshly-​made chips were the highlight of the whole meal, sadly. And the prices are cheap. That about sums it up.

This small place was very busy on a Saturday at lunchtime so I’m glad we phoned in our order ahead. Our order was ready when we got there. We got a chicken combo dish with beans, rice and lettuce, a couple of hardshell meat tacos as well as chips and salsa. It was a great, filling lunch and not expensive at all. Everything was very fresh and quite tasty. I will not hesitate to order lunch there again but will be sure to order ahead again. They are open for dinner too though.

Awesome place!!! It’s a little place next to the vassar bookstore… Slightly confusing when you walk in — it looks like a Chinese food place… I went with a chicken burrito, kind of plain, but delicious and cheap… The tacos are great as well, they shells are extra crispy… Again, they are plain but delicious and cheap…

I seriously eat here about 3 times a week. I always get the chicken tacos, they’re amazing. They prepare the tortillas fresh right In front of you. Restaurant is very clean too. I’m surprised they don’t know me by a first name basis at this point. Yum!!!

If salt is a flavor, this place has got a lot of flavor. I ordered tacos, and they were so salty, I couldn’t even enjoy them. I ordered a side of guacamole to put on them. This consisted of a dab of watery guacamole inside a flour tortilla. Will not order from here again.

Love this place. Me and my boyfriend travel 45 minutes for their delicious tortillas. We split the fajita platter for $ 16! And have leftover for the next day. We try hard to finish, but it never happens. Haha. Their chicken is so flavorful! And try their chips and salsa! Best chips ever. We get two bags and crush them into the fajitas. The second bag I eat the next day while daydreaming of left overs. XD Do ittttt!!! You know you want to.

Amazing food, fast and cheap. I absolutely love this place and it works well within my vegan diet.

If you want cheap and pretty good Texmex food this is probably a place you’ll enjoy stopping into. Like other people have said, it’s pretty small, but you can always take their food to go. Never a long wait either so if you’re starving you’ll get your food like right away.

They make really great food here. It is a small space, but they move quickly. There is bar type seating and during the warmer months they have tables outside. I highly recommend eating here.

Good comfort Mexican in a pinch, but it isn’t great. Considering what should be simple to master, I wish it was better, but it’s still decent tacos when you want a taco.

Really fast, really good. Some of the reviews here are polarizing, not sure why.
Everything is freshly made and prepared, as you order it — marinated chicken, steak, shrimp, and of course, the tortillas themselves are pressed and cooked fresh. Hard to beat that. It is also fast food, so it is leaps and bounds better than say, Taco Hell, but don’t expect 5 star Culinary dining either. It is great for what it is.

It is a travesty how long it took me to discover this location. A straight-​up tragedy.
Fresco Tortillas is tiny, grungy, and entirely deceiving. How could such a tiny location be good? This is the best Texmex food you’ll get for this price, probably anywhere.
It’s just that simple.

Wait time is extremely low.
Prices are very reasonable for quality/​freshness/​flavor.

Best tortillas EVER. I’m a huge fan of burritos. And a huge fan of Fresco’s burritos. So I was sad to graduate and head back to San Francisco [well, not too devastated. But every time I want a burrito, I miss Poughkeepsie]. I’ve substituted my burrito fix with Chipotle, but it just isn’t the same. Even though Chipotle gives bigger burritos, the quality is just different. The chicken and tortillas that Fresco’s provides is just so much better than other places. Everything seems so fresh and the portions are just perfect. I’m currently back in Poughkeepsie, visiting friends are Vassar and I tried a fajita for the first time and I was amazed. It was SO GOOD! I’m definitely going back for another before I head back to California.

Good, cheap food immediately across from the Vassar campus. Quesadillas are small but filling, burritos are large, nachos are mostly a good idea. The guacamole is nowhere near the best guac I’ve had, but it goes well with the food.
There’s not much more to say beyond it’s awesome and tasty, except that it can take some time before the food is ready & it gets cramped with people waiting in that tiny space. Best to call ahead and walk later.
