I’ve been here for a couple of years. I’m a crossfitter who needed an alternate gym so I can also do my own thing, and for convenient hours. Given the gyms in the area, both CrossFit and conventional, it’s my favorite. It isn’t perfect. The trainers are some of the worst I’ve seen in my life. It can be difficult to find a place to do anything functional, and the trainers think they are gods and will tell you to move or not use certain equipment because they need it. There’s only one squat rack and one power rack so good luck if you need one of them. They used to have bumper plates but they broke and never got replaced, and the boot camps often use them for dumb stuff that doesn’t require a bumper. The free weight section looks as though it was designed by someone who doesn’t work out — it just isn’t logical(eg some of the benches are so close to pillars or other equipment they’re difficult to load, the smith machine has more surrounding space than the power rack, etc). They do have lots of equipment — good foam rollers that are actually dense, a wall you can throw med balls at, and so on. Les Mills classes are great but for some reason Lagrange got all the boring instructors — the better ones are in Newburgh and fishkill for the most part. Gym is always clean, front desk staff is usually friendly and helpful, general manager is great.

Visited here for a go on suggestions from friends. After not being able to justify the $ 200 price tag of a CrossFit box, I started looking for the best way of training myself in similar style in an alternative space. So far, this *may* be it… but not sure yet. I don’t believe that any space can replicate a box bc you’re a fish bowl in these types of gyms, with bystanders just gawking at you, like who does he think he is? That aside, this space seemed good. There were ample Bosu balls, medicine balls, I didn’t see any wall balls, there were some metal box jump looking things that seemed too short or narrow to jump on, but whatever, and kettle bells. Truthfully, I was I was just happy to dead lift off a stupid machine rack. Or clean, or snatch. Whatever! I couldn’t imagine doing that though with volume of people around. It’d be hard. Then, there’s no space to rack your bar for squats. I just am annoyed by the binaries of gym models. For a normal person, I’m sure this would be OK. Then, there’s a football(American soccer) field and basketball courts for a league that meets on Fridays. There’s youth activities too. I wanted to fall in love, but I fell in like… and it was A OK

This is a typical gym. Nothing special. The front desk annoys me because security is ZERO. Anyone can by pass and get in. The ladies locker room is close to fair. The lockers are often filled with the clients leaving stuff behind. Their sauna is dirty and often does not work properly. I often stand for 5 minutes while I see water bottles and hair bands left behind. I can’t blame it all on the ladies that take care of these locker room, I just believe the gym is managed poorly. These are things I’ve often spoken to management, however, nothing has improved. I train in group classes which again i can find anywhere. Good luck taking serious yoga class.. the constant LOUDRUNNINGISDISTURBING(POORLYDESIGNED) You will be lucky to catch Casey. Casey is truly a good instructor the rest of her crew are very boring and for me they constantly stop the flow to explain what WEHAVETODO. Each yoga class is $ 5 at $ 25 per week that’s another $ 400 in their pocket. These classes should be included because it is still a Group Class. just like Cardio Pump Body Flow and the rest of their group classes. I train here, however, i basically train with Lifetime Fitness in West Harrison. CHOICE. FUNNYTHEPICTUREPOSTEDFEATURINGBODYPUMPISALLMEN. FUNNYBECAUSETHEREMAYBETHREEPERHAPSNOTHREEORSO99% FEMALES. Gigantic Gym, a lot of machines Men’s bathroom needs to be renovated, showers are disgusting and moldy Trainers are awesome, they know there stuff Parking is terrible, in the winter expect to park 1000 feet away and if soccer is playing you may not get a spot. You don’t even need to be a member to use this gym, just walk in the front door and go up the stairs, and enter the gym. the staff never asks anyone if they are a member. the basket ball players that are not members are consistently on machines that paying member’s need to use. The owners need to start paying attention to what’s going on, attention to details is lacking, because the staff isn’t. Don’t go when its raining– you will get wet

Three stars is about right for this gym. I go after I get out of work, so I usually arrive around 4PM. It’s almost never crowded at this time, so not having to wait for equipment is pretty nice. I can’t vouch for more popular times though. It’s a pretty pricey monthly membership, so take advantage of classes to make it worth your money. I think a small fee is charged for RPM and yoga, but there are other options. It’s nice that they have racquetball courts, and the indoor track is pretty cool as well. I deducted a star because some of the cardio equipment could stand to be upgraded(especially in the women-only area), and another star because some staff members are so cold and disinterested that I’m tempted to check for a pulse.

Gigantic gym with indoor basketball courts, running track, and soccer fields. Some equipment is old, but it does the job. The locker rooms are clean, but can be cleaner or upgraded. Some people usually do not wipe down the machines or benches with the provided alcohol wipes, I tend to, by habit, wipe down all machines before I use them. The staff is cold and distant, some are more friendly than others. Generally, it’s a good gym for the area.

It is one of the biggest gyms in the area. I want to highlight the mentality and accessibility. The staff is helpful, the trainers I have worked with are knowledgable and professional. Their rates are a little steep but if you want to work out and get in shape it is worth it. They also have a Fit Rewards Program for members. There is wheelchair parking and bathroom/locker room access. Depending on your disAbility many of the machines will work but some are not easy to use, again depending on your disAbility. HOWEVER: If you have an obvious need before you write them off go talk to them about what you need access to if you have a disAbility. They will listen and try to work with you so you can get in the gym and get in better shape or maintain your shape. There are some classes available that are useful for those with disAbilities but the studios on the first floor and the racquetball courts have only step access. Please take a tour with one of their sales staff and see if this works for you. They have a yoga studio and an additional multi-purpose room on the second floor for wheelchair dance and/or yoga/Pilates. There is an elevator. They don’t currently offer any of these classes specifically to those with disAbilities but if you talk to the Instructors they may be able to help you. Their basketball court is also accessible. So, go check it out. The have more to offer than most gyms in the area. Their Fishkill gym is 24 hours on most days of the week. There is no elevator in the Fishkill gym but most of the machines you need are on the first floor if you cannot access steps.

Plenty of of equipment if you go earlier in the day. Most of the staff seem very cold and distant, just a job to them. Patrons make no effort to clean up after themselves and the staff is way too involved in themselves to clean up or enfore. So if you go bring your own towel unless you want to lay in the sweat of others. Over all a cold and not unfriendly but close to it place to workout.

This is my third year anniversary with them to the day so I guess they are doing something right. I like to go when it’s not crowded, that means in the morning first thing. It’s a nice gym if you can ignore the gawkers pretending to work out. I’m a cardio and pilates fanatic so that’s where you’ll find me. But the best thing they have to offer, besides the group trainers is their wide selection of free weights. Don’t feel intimidated, use them, you can’t get it at home unless you’re a millionaire. Speaking of, the monthly fee, I feel is a lot. But I keep going anyway. It’s clean, lots of stuff to choose from workout wise and the sauna and showers are a plus. I say give it a try. It will either click for you or you’ll hate it and go elsewhere. If you’re good with going to the gym frequently and like a fully equipped, get in shape atmosphere this is the gym for you.
