Now called Guira y Tambora, serves very good Dominican food. Chicken with beans and rice was delicious. Bring your English Spanish dictionary as English is second language — which is a sign this is an authentically tasty place!

I love to travel to Spanish countries to eat different foods. This place is so good that whenever I visit Poughkeepsie I am definitely going to make a stop here. Cuz all the is so good here and I loved all their goat meat and pulled pork. So gooood. Goat is flavorful, juicy, and well seasoned. And I just started eating goat last year! So it took a lot for me to like it as someone who is not a meat fan. The nice girl who worked there explained what everything was and the price. She let me taste some and I got almost everything they had. Still came out to less than 9 $. Also she says they will get delivery soon. Can they deliver to my home 75 miles away?

Official Puerto Rican & Dominican food. U won’t find this type of Spanish food this good north of the Bronx. Food has lots of flavors. This is that real deal! Portions are large and prices are cheap! Service is super friendly.

Okay Okay Okay… here’s the deal. You want Puerto-Rican and Dominican food really fast and you live in the Poughkeepsie area? Shake it over to La Bahia. They’re on Main Street, they cater, they’re closed on Sundays and the food is FORREAL. They have the always reliable combo platters with the meat, rice & beans and salad between $ 6 — $ 8. The meats are a variety because there’s certain ones they serve daily(Pollo al Horno, Pollo Guisado, Carne de Res and my favorite, the Pernil!) and some that change daily like(Bacalao, Chuletas Fritas, Pescado Frito, Rabo… etc). I wish they made Cubanos, but that’s ok. You get the takeout and the servings are plentiful. The staff is quite nice and they really know what they’re doing. I’ll be coming here quite often.

This place is hard to spot, it’s quite hidden pay close attention! Once inside you’re hit with Latin music, and a television that is on a random Spanish channel, also the color yellow. The price range is cheap, cheap cheap. Serving size is HUGEHUGEHUGE, you will get a Monstrosity amount of rice, with beans. Then your choice of meat. Very tasty, tender, good food, dont be afraid of getting 2 plates! Good place to try, and eat when you have low cash on you at the moment.
