My experience was awful. They did not do what I wanted. They charged way too much. At the end of the guy tattooing I told him what I did not like about the tattoo and he told me that from far away it looked like it was supposed to and that he didn’t feel like adding lines where I wanted him to. Now I have to go somewhere else and get it redone. Very dissatisfied.

Got my first tattoo here last weekend. Artist was awesome, warm welcoming, made me feel comfortable and the place was well maintained along with clean. Can’t thank them enough for making my vision come to life :-)

Got my first tat from Vin and he was able to to take the art work I gave him and make it into a very original piece I went back to have him do the other arm he is an excellent artist and would recommend him to any of my friends. My wife had a side piece done by him also and it was awesome. The current tattoo he did was beyond what I expected I wanted flowers on my chest that represented all the women in my life especially my mom who is a cancer survivor I gave him pictures and a rough idea of what I envisioned and he hit a home run. The accuracy was excellent because I am a horticulturist and he made sure the tattoo was accurate I will be going back to him for more ink in the future. He was really receptive and friendly to deal with I can’t say enough about how professional he is.

I got my tongue done and the person that did it was really nice. He seemed to cared a lot about making sure that everything was right and described very good. I have not yet got a tatto there but will be back soon. I think it’s a 4 stars for service and work also very clean I was worried but it turned out to be a very good experience

I went here for the first time to get a micro-​dermal done. The piercer, Boogie was amazing. Showed me everything. Explained everything. Very clean. Gave me the best run down I have received. I have had several piercing but wish he had done them all. Would have saved me so much. I recommend him to anyone, especially first timers. THANKS BOOGIE! Mwuah

got four ear piercings there over this weekend and I would definitely go back. everyone that works there is super friendly and welcoming. the guy who pierced me was great. very clean and knowledgable. he was excited about my piercing idea and he made me totally relaxed and comfortable. my boyfriend gets tattooed here often and loves it. they will will seeing more of us soon!

My friend and I wanted to go in to get small matching ankle tattoos, so I called a week or two in advance to ask for an appointment. The guy on the phone told me because of the size, they wouldn’t make an appointment and I’d have to just walk in. But the day I wanted to go in they were having a tattoo special (a fundraiser for a diabetes research), so the guy told me to come in at 11:45, just before they opened. The day came and we went in, got there a little late, and stood in a very crowded and mildly disorganized lobby, just to be turned away. They said they were just doing a pre-​set menu of designs for the fundraiser and there would be no regular walk-​ins. So the communication was very off. Hence, disappointment and no tattoos.

I went to PNY for my first ever tattoo at the suggestion of several family members who have gotten the majority of their work done there.
When I first walked in I talked to Mike at the front desk, and described what I wanted.
While I stood there I took a minute to scan the place. The paint and decorations were epic, and the whole area smelled clean. I felt comfortable immediately. Mike suggested that I make my appointment with Vinny based on the style of tattoo that I was looking to get. I managed to land an appointment only two weeks away from the date that I walked in.
Two weeks later I walked in for my appointment. I brought a friend with me just in case Vinny was finishing up another tattoo and I needed to wait. When he came out the tattoo that he had drawn up was pretty far off the mark of what I had envisioned, but I realized that was probably due to my inaccurate description. My tattoo was an original idea so I couldn’t find any pictures online and had to basically count on my artist to pull my dream tattoo right out of my skull. After four attempts Vinny finally walked out with a drawing that was more amazing that I could have ever imagined.
Since my piece took up the majority of the ribcage on my right side I settled in and expected serious pain. Honestly, it was not NEARLY as bad as everyone had mentally prepared me for. Vinny didn’t cause me to bleed very much at all, and the whole process lasted about 3 hours.
It’s been over a month since I went to PNY, and my tattoo is fully healed. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get work done in the Hudson Valley.

I’ve gotten four out of my six tattoos done at this shop, and each one was amazingly well-​done. Every artist is talented, knows what they’re doing, and will do a great job every time. They are also reasonably priced. I’ve made many trips down from the Capital Region to get tattoos here, as there are absolutely no shops in the Albany area that are anywhere near comparable to PNY.
Also — I am SO glad that they changed their shop entrance. I remember having to go through a maze of hallways to get to the front door, but the new entrance and renovated shop are fantastic.
I only have one problem with this place. It’s kind of a big problem — as in, big enough for me to not come back. I have never felt comfortable at this shop. There is an overbearing feeling of arrogance in the air whenever I walk in. I completely understand why, as every single artist there does beautiful work. However, I personally feel that it doesn’t matter how great your work is — if you don’t treat your customers with some sort of kindness (or if you act like they’re an idiot, or insist that a communication error is all the customer’s fault), then they probably won’t come back for more business. Sadly, I am done with the attitude I seem to get every time I walk in the door, though I’m extremely happy with the tattoos I’ve gotten while I did patronize the shop.

I have had all my piercings and my tattoo done at Planet New York and have always been pleased. Last Wednesday we went in to get my friend her first tattoo, unfortunately they couldn’t do it that night so we made an appointment for the next Wednesday. Well we went at our scheduled time and the artist did not have an appointment written down, didn’t have a drawing, and didn’t even remember us! We rescheduled for this morning, and to Greg’s credit (the artist) he did feel so bad he came in super early to accomodate. The tat is freakin’ beautiful. He does all custom stuff.
The original Wednesday I decided to get my nostril done. Dan was the piercer and he was great. Very gentle and calming. The piercing is wonderful and I have had no problems with it.
So, though sometimes the guys get a litte fuzzy-​headed about stuff, the work is real quality. I would highly recommend them.
