I LOVE this place!!! I’m SO happy I found it because Poughkeepsie really lacks in a true Asian super market, even if it is a mini market.
They have a good variety of Asian cooking ingredients, whenever I want to make some Gyudon or Phở I usually get my ingredients here. They also have a good variety of Asian snacks, drinks, and ramen which I am grateful for.
The people there are very friendly, always treated me well, and not to mention on the weekends they bring hot chinese food (authentic) from Chinatown and you can buy it!!! :D

The name is appropriate; I felt welcome the moment I walked in, and I was instantly asked if I needed help looking for anything. They had quite the variety of many of the less common ingredients for which I was searching. I came here today after lunch, so I’m not sure if they had produce earlier in the day, there wasn’t much when I arrived. I was pleased with the variety of teas, oils, sauces, spices, dry ingredients, etc.
One thing that amused me was lemongrass stalks. The last time I had gone to nearby Golden Mango, I couldn’t find any. When I asked one of the employees stocking the shelves, it turned out he didn’t even know what lemongrass was. He eventually had to ask someone else if they carried it. Here it was abundant, and only FORTY TWO CENTS for a large stalk (compare that to Hannaford, who — when they have it in stock — sell two much smaller stalks for $ 1.99).
It’s unfortunate that I still don’t have one place locally where I can do one-​stop shopping when I want Asian foods (fresh, frozen, packaged, etc.), but Welcome Grocery now fills a large part of those requirements.

Only place locally that sells tons of popular drink mixes (Thai, Green, Milk) in different variations along with boba. All at a similar price to Chinatown, NYC.

This tiny store doesn’t want your business. Never opens on schedule, and most items are OVERPRICED. In fact, they charge at least 30% more than most asian supermarkets in Flushing or Queens, NY. Make sure you check the expiration date of the food you purchase, because on many occasions they have food expired more than 1 year ago on sale. The owner and his son looks unhappy and especially his oldest son, very rude to customers. They never gives you a receipt, unless you ask them repeatly. I try my best to avoid this tiny store, and would rather drive 80 miles to Queens and shop in chinese supermarkets that are at least 50 times bigger, for some fresh quality grocery which are priced more reasonable. After counting tolls, gas and time spent, it’s still more economical to go to those big supermarket in Queens.

If you don’t know this place yet, you should come on Saturday around 11:45AM. Don’t come too late because they run out pretty quick. Every Saturday they brought in «rare» items like roast chicken/​duck, bbq pork, dim sums, banh mi and some asian vegetables.
The place is very small (only 2 short aisles) but you can get almost all asian ingredients in it, if you are not picky with brands/​types.

I don’t think I could ask for more in an asian grocery in a not very populated area. As others have said, nice selection even though it’s not so big. What I’ve really appreciated is that, even though I’m not asian and not that familiar with the food, the staff has been SO nice and helpful. Every time I’ve gone someone has looked at my list and helped me pick out everything I need. Also, the pricing is very fair.

Baby bok choy and other veggies, miso paste, a large variety of frozen dumplings and dry pasta, tons of other asian foods that I don’t recognize, and a menagerie of other interesting wares. Despite the fact that there are only two short aisles in this small store, I’ve browsed for a good 25 minutes before and will again. This is the only place to go for most asian cooking ingredients that I know of north of NYC (though Adam’s puts forth a laudable effort). Worth a visit if nearby! Oh, and most packages have English instructions on them, though you might have to search a bit.
Downsides: the place isn’t the most pristine, and it’s a bit disorganized.

I found a lot of stuff I wanted here — all the fixings for bubble tea (even the straws, in an amazing range of colours!), lots of varieties of both sweet and savory frozen dumplings, a bunch of other odds and ends I’d been looking for, for much better prices than I’d seen elsewhere. The staff were very nice, too. It was kind of dirty and badly organised, but that’s as it should be for this kind of place, I believe.

This Asian market is what I need when I run out of essential supplies. Baby bok choy, frozen dumplings, Shichimi Togarashi (probably one of the greatest culinary inventions ever (
), spring roll skins, etc.
The price are very reasonable and it is quite small but everything one would need is basically here. The owner is very friendly and eager to answer questions. I would gladly skip my Asian section in Stop & Shop to come here. You’re talking to a guy that has no hesistations to grocery shop in Chinatown or White Plains for authentic Asian ingredients. Welcome more than satisfies for what you need. I expect this place to be open for a long time because Asian markets struggle in the Hudson Valley. Not sure why, but they do.

An Asian grocery with all the the things I want: Kimchi (Korean fermented spicy cabbage), red pepper paste, dried anchovies, frozen dumplings, seaweed, miso paste, pickled daikon radish and much more.
I was on a I-​need-​to-​make-​food-​like-​home kick and I drove to this strip mall on New Hackensack Road (Route 376). I’ve seen three Indian/​Pakistani groceries along Route 9 in Dutchess County, but this store has more Southeast and East Asian food products. Yay!

The directions to this place are rather misleading… the store is actually ON Route 376 in a strip mall across from a gas station. The store is fairly small, but they have a decent (although, yes, small) selection of vegetables, sauces, snacks, frozen goods, drinks, pastries, food stuff and house things. They had wonton wrappers, which was what I was really looking for, and other sauces not available in Stop and Shop. I definitely plan on going back rather often.
