Boooooo! I stopped into the Cat’s Meow while shopping in Poulsbo and after browsing around, found a neat old photograph post-card of the Olympic Peninsula and asked the store clerk to open a case. After handing her my credit card, she looked at my name and said flatly,“Long name,” as though I had a contagious disease. Who says crap like that to a customer? The store itself had tons and tons of little items & tchotchkes, some of which were kinda cute, but they weren’t well organized at all. I’m guessing the store rents out space for individual sellers since the items were all so unrelated. Felt a little schizophrenic with the front of the store highlighting weird gnome things, the middle of the store selling sports gear, kitchen items, other randomness, and the back room displaying religious pictures. Skip.

Walking along Front Street I was drawn into Cat’s Meow by the largest collection of Jim Shore figurines I’ve ever seen. I didn’t even realize this was an antique store until I made it past the Jim Shore displays. Once inside we found a maze of different cubbies of antiques of all shapes and sizes. We found several treasures we couldn’t live without for ourselves as well as treasures for upcoming Christmas gifts. If I didn’t live so far away and have to ship stuff back I would have bought LOTSMORE! What a great find! I’d love to go back here again!
