Worst Chinese food I’ve had in my life, and that’s no exaggeration. Egg drop soup made with chicken and corn from a can. BBQ chicken arrived like lunchmeat in cold, unpalatable slabs. Almond chicken a fried mess smothered in a mysterious tasteless sauce. Sweet and sour chicken hard as a rock and rancid. There were even cobwebs on our seats. Avoid this sad excuse for a Chinese restaurant!

Don’t bother. Food was good but when we left, the entire bar(7 or 8) people were outside, right next to the no smoking sign. …smoking.

Not a family setting at all with the open bar access right in the Dining room. Also the food was pretty gross as well. Will not return.

Been going here for probably 10 years now. the food is good, you get plenty of it. I have never sat down and had a meal there so I can’t say one way or the other about the service, but I call in for take out, and I have never had an issue. The lady that is always there Friday nights when I call in remembers my name even if it’s been months since my last order. I have also stopped in with friends for a beer in the bar, the bartender was always prompt and very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone

the best Chinese in Kitsap county! when I lived in the area, they memorized my order. also, once we came in and left our debit card there and they had it waiting for us when we came back a couple days later. very friendly staff and very delicious food.

I was nervous about eating here after having read the other reviews; however, my girlfriend said she’d had good luck with the Szechuan eggplant… Only 1 person in the reviews actually got sick, so I figured what the heck? Bottom line up front: 2 stars is generous. Opinions from other reviews were borne out here. –The General Tso’s chicken wasn’t bad, but certainly wasn’t spicy. The chicken was certainly directly out of a bag in the freezer and the sauce from a jar… — the rice was Minute Rice, or some equivalent… I cooked enough of that stuff in my college days… No doubt. — the Szechuan eggplant really wasn’t too bad, but was very greasy

Been coming here many years food is decent and in the bar drinks are stiff and cheap karaōke needs updating but that’s the only prob. Best food after u have had a few strong drinks! Great small local dive. U can sing late olé and no judgements against u ! Fun place

After reading all of the negative reviews for this business on Unilocal,I decided to write a review of my own! I have been coming to the Sian Palace for nearly 10 years now. First, in the restaurant and then later in the bar for Karaōke. It’s my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area! I love the egg rolls, sweet and sour sauce, and the crab rangoons! The bacon fried rice is really yummy! I have met some amazing friends in the bar. The owner gives back to his customers by putting on an event for the holidays. This is why I love this place so much –you really feel a sense of family and community when you come here. I think that people need to look past what a place looks like from the inside/outside and experience what it really has to offer.

I read all of the reviews after getting here. I was sweating bullets about the meal we had just ordered. I had the hot and sour soup, general tao chicken, and sautéd veggies. My wife had shrimp fried rice and sesame seed chicken. So the hot and sour was very salty but loaded with great stuff more than I have ever seen before. So I have mixed feelings about it. The generals was good. Not hot but good. The veggies were great. The sesame seed chicken was good and fried rice was nice and light. So I give it a 3 for the middle of the road food. Place is empty but bar is packed. Must be the local watering hole. Looks a bit run down. All in all I would try again. I figure this place is hit and miss. UPDATE* Wife got sick, I didn’t.

I don’t normally write reviews — it really has to be a place that is memorable in some way(either really good or really bad). Unfortunately, this is the latter. We have been looking for a really good Chinese restaurant on the Kitsap Pennisula since moving here a while back, and so on a lark we tried this place one night(although we failed to check the reviews before doing so — shame on us). Well, this was truly the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. It was so greasy we couldn’t finish our meals(and we certainly didn’t take anything ‘to go’). Frankly, we thought the food was so bad that we kiddingly mused whether the restaurant business was a ‘front’ for the attached bar — which at the time had a couple of unsavory characters lingering around the entrance way. The atmosphere wasn’t much and the cleanliness was suspect, but having eaten in some hole-in-the-wall establishments in the San Francisco(and New York) Chinatown districts that turned out to have great food, we could overlook the environment *if* the food was good — but unfortunately, it wasn’t. I guess the silver lining is that we didn’t get sick. We’d like to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and truly hope we had the misfortune of visiting this establishment on a really ‘off’ night, but we are unwilling to ever try again. Life is just too short.

Had takeout and all I gotta say is: This place is boo-boo!!! Rice was VERY disappointing(tasted like Minute-Rice); their Egg Drop soup had a gelatinous texture which is NOT supposed to be like in a soup; and their General Tso’s Chicken tasted more like Orange Chicken(no spice at all!) — If the cooks at this place are actual Chinese people, they put Chinese to shame! Avoid their place like the Plague!!!

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve had good Chinesetakeout food, but this didn’t even come close to tricking me that it was halfway decent. I had the mongolian beef, husband had the #5 dinner combo plate and we shared some krab meat and cheese wontons. We did takeout, so don’t have a basis for service at all, but… sheesh. Everything was extremely heavy and greasy. The flavors just weren’t there — even for americanized chinese food. The take out menu went promptly into the trash when we got home…

Being someone who generally likes to find the good in most everything, I have to say as hard as I try that I cannot find anything nice to say about this place. I went in for the first time many months ago and had memorable meal. Too bad that the reason it was memorable is that it was so bad. So, I just tried it again and the results were no better, perhaps slightly worse(if that is possible). For this visit, the place was just as empty as the last time with the exception of the bar which shares a common wall. There was not a single diner there and I did also experience the banging on the back counter in order for someone to take my order. I tried soup, fried rice and a beef dinner and none were any good. So, that will be my last visit to the Sian Palace. PS, Unilocal forced me to give this place one star which is one more than I wanted to

A very strange place. I love Chinese food and I even worked for a few Chinese restaurants. This one seems to not hit the mark. The front door is so far away from the cashier that if you come in during mid-afternoon odd hours you may have to cough or bang something to get someone to come out of the kitchen. There were kids running around(but it is normal in family run ethnic restaurants). There was duct tape holding our booth together. The menu was very generic and a little pricey for the surroundings and expectations, but out of all the places I’ve been to I love their almond sauce(goes on the almond chicken and egg foo yung). Other than that, not so much. I think from now on Ill order my egg foo yung to go and pick it up incognito lol.

Overall, the restaurant is completely average. The menu is priced the same as just about any other Chinese restaurant you’ve ever been to and the food is neither spectacular nor stomach-churning. There is absolutely nothing about the location that stands out. The atmosphere is fairly bland and generic for the type of establishment. The only real negative thing I have to say about the place is that the Chinese cooks appear to have mistaken the restaurant for a daycare, and there were several mostly unsupervised children about.
